The Boys Amazon's The Boys General Discussion Thread

Going to wait until Tomorrow, but so excited to watch the S3 finale! To those who watch, enjoy!

I actually thought last weeks episode was the finale was very happy to find that it’s this weeks. I’ll be watch tomorrow.

Good finale. Do wish they would announce in advance if they are going to release a episode early.

Good finale. Kind of wrapped up everything pretty fast. Going to be a long wait for next season though.

A great finale and man I know its been said before but Antony Starr really does deserve all the awards for his performance this season as Homelander, especially for his scenes in this episode.

There were two scenes in particular with Black Noir and Soldier Boy that I actually found a bit emotional which really caught me off guard and made me actually feel something for Homelander.

God, the wait for next seasons of this and Stranger Things are going to be brutal asf.

Great finale and overall I thought this was the best season yet. The last scene was damn frightening but the real shock to me was that
Black Noir was the only major death. I thought for sure that either MM or Frenchie weren't making it out of the season alive. They almost had me with Maeve too.

Terrific finale, and while I am glad that
Poor depth perception aside, Maeve got a happy ending
it sucks that
Ryan is turning into his dad
.

I'm interested in seeing how the The Boys operation works going forward with
Newman out of the picture. Annie has got a crapload of followers so its possible they could fund operations through donations. I also wonder if Butcher will make it through all of next season

That final was rally good, that fight lasted a good long while and nice back and forth.

I did think
Noir would die but expected him to be part of the big battle. I knew Homelander would kill him but thought in front of Solider Boy so he could get approval. Noir was dead the moment they gave backstory.

Jensen was a joy this season
detaining him was the only way as no one could really kill him I guess except maybe Ryan. They left the door open for the future.

Deep, Ashley, and A-Train
Seems like Ashley is finally crossing over to a bit of good, just means she likely dies next season. Deep is back where he started just Homelanders pet he has no backbone to be himself. A-Train still lost, all the signs point for him to finally make some kind of heroic move but he is a coward. I don't think he will change for good and likely gets taken out by The Boys.

Damn wish we had more of Maeve early in the season, this episode showcased her.
Hope she gets that happy life, didn't think the blast killed her since she was able to stand toe to toe with Homelander. Solider blast vaporizes humans but just wounds supes that are really powerful taking away powers.

Ryans
that kid is gonna be a problem. Same genes and need for love and affection as Soldier Boy and Homelander. He liked that guy getting killed and the cheers they gave. Hope MM whips that weird step dad's ass again is he ever home being constructive?

Seems like the series can be winding down :( with the next season
focusing on head popper being the running mate. They need to be clever to take her out and once they do it is just Homelander and Ryan.

I think he will
the doc said he has 6-12 months and 18 at best. The seasons sem to cover like 1-3 months in their world maybe. They won't do a final season with Butcher dead, now he may die mid way through the final season when they do it but not next season. I feel like Ryan killing him is the obvious way.

Watching it right now and
Black Noir was asked about Soldier Boy, that was going to be it. Was hoping Homelander would have been cleaner with it though.

Well they are filming it already so not going to be too bad. Not the 2 years it was before.

Being an anime fan some times seasons have to wait 3-5 yrs for a new season at best 1-2 so I am prepared for the wait for live action shows.

The episodes were coming out on Thursday each time.

Almost to the end and I think Ashley is my favorite "normie" character.

As to Maeve...
she is currently still duking it out with Homelander and really holding her own, even with the eye. Had the rest of the Seven had more spine sooner they definitely could have defeated Homelander although it probably would have still resulted in Black Noir and probably A-Train and the Deep's deaths.

And...
she looks like she may have been nuked by Soldier Boy.

I see why next season may be the last one. Probably a good run at 5 seasons. They aren't going to drag this out past where it makes sense. Doesn't mean they won't continue with spin offs though.

nuked but alive. She deserves the retirement. If any of the original Seven deserve it, it's her.

Yeah, that's probably not a good idea but I see why they might want to keep him as a back up or attempt to reprogram him.

One last thought... this was not nearly as bloody as some of the previous episodes were.

And then I say that and Homelander... well does what Homelander does. :o The crowd naturally ate it up.

Was hoping for a soldier boy vs Nior fight they kind of hyped it for the last 3 episodes so not seeing it kind of a bummer

great they gave Mauve a heroic moment and happy ending since Homelander kills her in the comic was expecting thst to happen

Loved the season but kind of disappointed with the finale I mentioned one the reasons above

Awesome finale!

Sucks that
Black Noir got taken out. Wish he would have out fighting but we all saw his time would be coming to an end

Really seems that we have one, or maybe even two, seasons left until this series ends. And honestly, this is a good thing. Don’t want this series getting dragged out needlessly

I feel that
Butcher is gonna die saving Ryan. He’s gonna go out making good on the promise he made to his wife

Question regarding Maeve…

How exactly DID she survive? If I understand it right, Soldier Boy’s blast immediately nullifies a supe’s powers, hence why Kimiko was seriously injured when it happened to her. So shouldn’t the fall have killed Maeve? Still a great finale and great scene but she should have been powerless about half way down when he exploded.

Decent episode, although I did think it was a step down from last season's finale.

If I had to guess, we have two more seasons left.

One more to deal with Neuman and then a final one to wrap the series up. I'd assume Ryan's redemption is gonna be the primary focus and he's basically gonna be the Zuko of this series

Overall though, I think it's pretty safe to say this show's the best capestuff related show we've gotten since Daredevil

An incredibly weak finale. Despite all the shock value, the show is afraid of changing the status quo. Felt similarly after the season 2 finale but even more so this time. A big problem with this season was that the writers didn't seem to know who Soldier Boy was, exactly, and his motivation and actions in this finale didn't make sense as a result. All the fan theories regarding the finale were much more exciting and interesting than what we actually got.
