The Boys Amazon's The Boys General Discussion Thread

Goes without saying but this season was utterly phenomenal. Assassination Run is this show's equivalent to Ozymandias and I am dead serious. A thought occurs though, regarding a certain character

When we get an orchestral remix of this for A-Train's first appearance actually being a hero in Season 5>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I think this season was pretty much on par with the previous ones in terms of quality. It's just that the political overtones were done more overtly. Finale was great. Looking forward to the final season.

I liked the finale and the season overall. I do agree that some stuff seemed thrown in just to give characters something to do or make them seem worse than we already knew they were though; I’m all for Frenchie cashing in on his bisexuality (and Colin is hot) but damn, did you have to also reveal that Frenchie used to murder entire families? I know they all did shady stuff in the past but that seemed more like a Butcher thing than a Frenchie thing.

Also,
it was sad seeing Vicky go. She was evil for sure but in this season, you got to see glimpses of her humanity and even sympathized with her a bit. I was hoping she would team up with The Boys, but then, well…

One issue I did have was the power level of certain Supes. Like, all of a sudden, it seemed like they were all unkillable except when the plot required them to die. It wasn’t really bothering me until that scene where Starlight beats the crap out of the Deep but then they just leave instead of finishing him off because MM says something like, “Do you even know how to kill him”. Like, huh? If Starlight can strangle the shapeshifter to death than I’m pretty sure that she and A-Train could have finished off the Deep at that moment.

Lastly, maybe I’m forgetting something but why does the Deep never take his gloves off lol? Did they ever explain this? I know he’s embarrassed by his gills but those are in his chest. Is there something with his hands too?

It kind of goes with where the show is leading but the "universe" just feels so small now compared to how rich & vast it felt in S1-3.

Frenchie/Colin was a pure waste and by the end of hte season I ask myself why they even bothered with it.

I think Boys universe is going to end up with more episodes than Supernatural.

Good Lord. I am getting The Walking Dead vibes from this. And as someone who watched all seasons of The Walking Dead, I skipped all the spin-offs. With the Boys universe, I already skipped Gen V as well and just waiting for the final season, similar to what I did with the Walking Dead.

Liked the season overall, finale got everything pointed in a very nice direction for the final season. Probably the weakest of the 4 seasons to date, but still interesting enough overall, I think one thing that let this season down was some of the 'sub-plots' for some of the existing characters that just weren't that interesting I didn't think or felt irrelevant.

That being said, still good overall & with how things ended the finale season has the potential to be epic.

You might actually like Gen V because it has a distinct X-Men vibe, in the same way that The Boys spoofs Justice League/Avengers. I certainly got a lot out of it, it's almost as good as the main show, or, as far as this last season goes, better than it.

I'm not that big on spinoff shows in general but Gen V was decent overall, if anything it served as a good interlude to season 4 of The Boys. It added a lot more depth/quality to the virus storyline which they didn't actually fully utilise in S4 of The Boys IMO. I liked season 1 enough to watch season 2 anyway & it will likely fill the void until the final season of The Boys hits.

I am interested in Vought Rising though, especially with Ackles & Cash returning in their roles.

More episodes? No way. Actual expanding universe? Well...it's already beaten it.

But im ok with spin-off.....not the one I NEED or want but...we'll see.

Kal-El’s pod comes to the Earth of the Boys TV universe and is raised by that world’s Martha and Jonathan Kent and like the DC Comics, becomes Superman when he’s an adult. How would he fit in within Vought and The Boys' Universe?. To spice things up Kal El is at the same powerlever of Homelander and not in his comic book lvl

If it is anything like the comics, almost everyone bites it.
