And the new Punisher is...

Look at the initial picture of Jane. That wasn't so hot either. I think Ryan when in his Punisher will look more like Castle than Jane. Jane just had a great personality almost a young Harrison Ford'ish. At times he seemed too vulnerable for the character but I loved what he did. I can't take anything away from him. I think Stevenson will come across like an unstoppable force that the enemies fear. I think it'll be quite a bit darker and more graphic than the 1st. Just a guess. :)

Jane was really likeable from the start of the movie till the end, that was his appeal in my opinion, we all almost felt sorry for the guy. However Stevenson may be cold hearted in the role and we may lose some of the story quality because of this or we might gain a whole other level of Punisher kick ass-ness. :)

As long as the change of the role of the Punisher doesn't ruin the allusion of the movie (for example:from Kilmer to Clooney in the Batman films. They are extreamly different looking).

I want this to seem like THE sequal to the 2004 movie, not just another Punisher movie.

Stephenson was the most sympathetic actor in the rome series and I think hes an excellent choice for the character. Its also good that he and Ennis are both from Northern Ireland! Ulster!

I remember when I first saw Stevenson in Rome I went "This guy looks more like he´s Irish then Italian", not knowing that he was in fact Irish :yay:

I wish they would have gotten the guy who played Marc Anthony in that series, he struck me as being a better actor and just fitting the part better.

Still, beggers can´t be choosers and I´m just glad that we are getting a new Punisher film.

Dont know if anyone else has noticed, but now THREE cast members of King Arthur have gone on to ply characters in Comic Book movies.

I totally do not remember this dude from King Arthur. Hell, I barely remember the movie itself. I guess I'll have to watch it again.

I prefer to call him "Jive Clowens."

No particular reason. Just because.

^ I think someone made a manip thread.

No manips up yet?

Here's a pic someone could use:

Quality - that was one of the few problems with Tom Jane was that he was a little short. Oh and Wyrminarrd Ulstermen arn't Irish - thats like calling the Scottish English. A definate faux pas...:yay:

Y'know - not having seen Rome - I was only going off pics from film premieres etc. and I was worried that Stevenson didnt have a 'hard egde' to him.

Now that I've seen the above pic; It's eradicated my earlier fears - it's proven to me that he has the capability to look absolutley hard as nails badass, which I'm sure everyone will agree, is essential for the Punisher.

Damn, 6'4!

Love that pic too, he's gonna be as bad ass as you can get.
