Anime that would make a great film adaptation.

I think the following would be great.

Obviously, after seeing Transformers, I have faith Eva could be done in a couple of movies. Brilliant show, brilliant movie if made.

Elfen Lied would make a great series, so long as it had an unrated uncut version on DVD release. The best thing is the entire series could be summed up in one movie. :P

Hellsing would be great, make no mistake! Imagine seeing Alucard fighting Anderson? Spectacular!

Kenshin could be good. Remember The Last Samurai? Sure, it would have to be 100% Asian, though.

If they made a good adaption of Sailor Moon, I'd watch the film on DVD. The live action show was a tad corny for me to even look at screen shots...

Bebop and Trigun are obviously great. No doubt or debate there.

Fruits Basket and Azumanga Daioh could work.

Death Note is an ideal movie to be adapted. An original "horror" movie? Perfect.

Ghost in the Shell would be a new Blade Runner. A perfect film with a perfect psychological twist. I heard they were selling the movie rights here...

Oh, and Naruto might make a good adaption, but...

Naruto. It is basically Harry Potter with ninjas instead of wizards.

I watched T2 the other day and thought a young Edward Furlong would've made a kickass Naruto.

You can't make Naruto an American movie. Probably get raped like DBZ and end up reminding people of "American Ninja". I can't stand the whole "BELIEVE IT!" crap either.

Make it 100% Japanese, cast a Japanese speaking kid of mixed parentage to be Naruto, throw insane amounts of Yen into the production so it doesn't look half-assed like most anime-live action movies and maybe it could work.

Out of all the anime my favorite is Ghost in the Shell.But to me,.The three movies, the series, and the manga are enough.Its not really something Id want to be made into live action because I'm more than sure they'd screw it up...When you begin to regard anime as film in itself you might see things my way too.Take Akira for example=In Anime "budget" isnt an issue,you can do all these things that would be tremendously expensive otherwise.Also films like Akira and GitS and even both Vampire Hunter D's are "movie enough".I think those films as examples in particular transcend genres to where,a regular film goer or even a person that doesnt enjoy anime in particular would enjoy and appreciate.

Now Evangelion is a perfect example of a film thats begging to be made.I dont understand how any studio head with half a braincell doesnt see the opportunity/total cashcow there.It has a great overall story with far more interesting character motivations than most other current or upcoming franchise films.You have these giant robots like transformers does ,..but a wider mass appeal given they're controlled by people.Then you have the evil aliens who have ZERO personality-(a screenwriters dream) They only exist to be beat the **** out of on screen!Its like the perfect numb skull formula
I'm not even a huge Evangelion fan but I can see it.Why cant anyone else?

I wonder if any live-action version of a Miyazaki film would be considered blasphemy, no matter how good it was.

Nausicaa is my all-time favorite Miyazaki movie, but I could see it being a fantastic live-action film too, if done right.

That's my favorite Miyazaki one too. I've never thought of a live action version. It's so perfect as it is. It could be really good or really bad...

Ninja Scroll, Wings of Honneamise, and Perfect Blue have my vote for being a good adaptable movie. Personally, I'd love to see an epic R-rated Berserk trilogy done right. It would be amazing.
