I got to say this thread was the one I was most interested in and has been the most disappointing

Even the info thread had a great thought provoking conversation/Debate about whether Joker is Sane or Insane.

But this thread totally focused on her look, we barly get down to the characterization.

Well, we have seen The Joker in TDK, so it's easier to debate on a character we know about.

But this thread totally focused on her look, we barly get down to the characterization.

Again, it's because we don't know how Nolan will portray her yet. We've had debates on her characetrization, but at the end of the day, it doesn't go far, because we don't have any sort of information on what direction she'll go. It's more focused on her looks, because that's all we have right now. Don't blame us for having zero info, blame Nolan for not releasing anything on Catwoman.

You could still debate her characterization based on the comics, Nolan's vision on story and the state of the franchise thus far.

It doesn't go far because everyone reverts back to the look; which is important.

Personally I don't but, she may have some predisposed history to poverty and a connection to the narrows/Poverty (Holly)

This will serve to keep her grounded; she IS citizen of the real Gotham, a problem Falcone accurately depicted to Bruce in BB; she has it and perhaps Bruce will learn from that

So lets remedy that.

One thing I'm curious about is whether Catwoman will start out as an antagonist - maybe a thief - but becomes more of a vigilante/good guy over the course of the film. Sort of like how her character evolved in the comics from a cat burgler to an anti-hero.

Fifty-fifty; I'm hoping she isn't though because I always hated that Year One route, and find it insulting to Anne's character.

I am hoping we are introduced to her first as Catwoman, and secondly as Selina.

And I would love for both times, Batman/Bruce to be unable on how to "catch" her.

Catwoman - Out-runs or out maneuvers during a heist and leaves him in the dust.
Selina - Bruce finds her extremely attracting and tries flirting and having a conversation where she gives him a tease, and then a harsh cold shoulder.

Same here. Although, I want a slight one for Bane. Showing him break out of prison, or something along those lines.

As for Catwoman, I hope she's just Catwoman from the beginning.

No, he's saying he doesn't want her to be a prostitute in the movie, and probably thinks it's silly if someone does.

Oh I see. Well considering that girl Juno Temple is playing a "street-smart Gotham girl" most likely "Holly", I have a feeling Selina Kyle may be a hooker in this. Which is one type of crime we haven't seen yet in these movies. Maybe showing criminals as desperate people trying to make a living any way they can could be good for the movie?

I doubt they would be able to get away with Selina being a hooker in a PG-13 rated film.

Why not? They don't have to get graphic about the whole thing. If they got away with Joker's murders, they can do it with Selina's line of profession.

Not Hooker. Problem solved. If Pretty woman can be endearing Hookers have got it made for life.

My real concern is if she will work out to be someone Bruce is wary about.

Sure she's a criminal but, she also has a streak of genuine goodness in her, like Bruce or Gordon.

It's such a strong Dynamic, on one hand I know she's a good guy but, on the other hand she's so damned unpredictable.

She is a complex character, and I believe she will both add to Batman/Bruce's confliction as well as help him to figure out a lot about himself - and his place.
