Providing Bane's physique is "realistic" I suppose he is a good choice to enter Nolan's batworld. He can torture/kill Reese either because he wants to be the only one knowing Batman's identity or he wants to find out who he is. I don't think he will "break" Batman, but he can badly hurt him and/or Catwoman. Let's wait and see. Question: do you think Bane will get his drug from whom, the LOS/ Talia or Scarecrow?

Regarding Anne obviously she's not the stunning beauty Selina is but she's talented and as someone else said she's got energy and willingness to overcome her shortcomings I think. I don't like her voice for Catwoman but is easily fixed, right?

Part of the acclaim when doing roles is going against type. Training Day is nowhere near Denzel Washington's best performance on a technical level IMO, but in a different sense it was because he never played the "bad guy" before, just like we never saw Heath Ledger do anything remotely "Joker-like."

Nobody even knew who an Al Pacino was, yet, he was placed in the pivotal role of a character nobody thought he would pull off in Michael Corleone. This is the fun part of movies, and while I disdain Catwoman in general, I like Anne Hathaway, and I'm glad it's not the obvious move. It makes for a better outcome, and actually got me pretty excited for the inclusion of a character I was so against.

I've actually seen shockingly few of those people. I think so many people are being so resoundingly negative about the choice (then again, they're probably the very same people), that the rest of us are like "Good God, have a little faith in the man, will you?"

I guarantee you, by the time the movie premieres the people poo poo'ing Hathaway will have full converted back to their "Nolan is infallible" mode and say that they loved this casting the moment they read about it.

That, and if this film fails, no more "In Nolan I Have Trust" shirts. He will be the next Raimi and Singer.

Just think, the both of them are sitting in that lounge from Beetlejuice. When Nolan comes down his head will be shrunk by a mute Singer.

My thoughts exactly. I'm not a comic book reader so my impression of Bane is the Shumaker one. But I've been doing some research and reading things like Bane is Batman's equal, highly intelligent, breaks Batman's will, etc. It looks to be pretty exciting. Catwoman I expected, but Hathaway is something that piques my curiosity as well.

Now the big question is given the recently announced villains, will it top TDK and the Joker? That's a daunting challenge.

Maybe a few cases yeah, for the fans. But I would be perfectly fine with no mask. It'll be hard to justify it if he suddenly puts it on. I can't see him wearing a mask for the entire film. If he does ever put it on, it'll be like, "Okay... and why is he suddenly putting the mask on?"

But this entirely depends on the interpretation. Nolan said this is a new one, so we don't know where this is going.

Hell, I wouldn't mind a Bane in a suit just as a mob boss, intelligent and can physically **** Batman up. I can even deal without the venom to be honest.

I consider posting a very unflattering picture of Anne Hathaway and calling her overweight to be over-the-top fanboy hatred. I get it...the larger majority of fanboys couldn't touch anyone that even remotely resembles Anne Hathaway in her worst form with a 10 foot pole...so they have to come in here and bash her. All I'm saying is that let's keep it respectful. It's not really that hard to do...

My guess as to Nolan's take on Catwoman: she won't be the cat burglar type, but rather, she'll be a sort of Robin Hood. Instead of stealing from the rich, though, she steals from criminals and finances herself and gives the rest away.

That IS the Catwoman I know (from Brubaker's series), so I'm also hoping they'll go with that.
