Ant-Man Ant-Man Casting Thread

i'd be extremely happy if it were Jamie Bell. he's one of my original casting picks; back when i thought they might go the british route for the character. it was going to be him and Cumberbatch as the leads. but i'll wait and see what Wright actually has planned. it's all just rumor, at this point. on the plus side, Bell's a decent actor/very intense and has plenty experience with motion capture. Jumper's action is what i pointed to when trying to make size-changing sound "cool" to doubters. teleporation is somewhat similar; visually.

Im glad you guys are glad by this rumor. Again its just a rumor so yeah! Im having some bigger sites looking into the matter as we speak ;)

Jamie Bell would be fine for Lang. I think he's too young for Pym (who I'm hoping is Ewan McGregor or Edgar Wright, 'cause that would be awesome).

McGregor be perfect for Pym. It nay have just been an audition to like a screen test with the suit. It was only for 3 days. According to the chick....

So with TDW only weeks away, CWS deep into Post and GoTG done filming full attention on pre-production, casting and all things Ant-Man should start ramping up very soon I'd imagine.

Do we know a scheduled start date for principal photography?

I just have to agree with you there.
Marvel got a "real" actor in this case. They are quite good at casting leads, WB not always but sometimes.

Could this be a problem? Didn't Wright say that Ant-Man will be a light-hearted adventure? Bell acting intense and bloody serious may be a contrast.
But Bell can be comedic too.

This rumor isn't really being reported anywhere else. But I emailed one of the guys at Latino-Review to look into it :)

People will post the Larry David rumor but not this one which has way more evidence xD oh fanboys

to be honest, i've never read Wright describing it as light-hearted. he said it'd be a hi-tech spy heist movie. if the rumors are true and he's basing part of it on Marvel Premiere 47, there was nothing lighthearted about that story. i guess that there could be some dark humor associated with organ harvesting... otherwise, Jamie Bell has done something similar in 'Man on a Ledge.' it'd be weird if he were playing Pym, though.

Jamie Bell does light hearted fine in Tintin which Ant-Man writers Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish worked on the script for.

And before people jump at what if Wright and Bell are just working on the Tin Tin sequel. Wright (Or Cornish) dont have any writing credits on the sequels at least it doesnt say so on IMDB.

And Wright does like re-using the same actors in his films he is associated with?

We don't see his face and acting manners there. A live action film is something else, where an actor can actually give an intense performance.

well even if he were grim, they could always balance it out by hiring a more upbeat actor to play across from him.

He motion captured the role. They live animated his performance and expressions

To prove just how ridiculous the premise with a shrinking superhero is? :)
As long as it's not Jack Black, Chris Tucker or Adam Sandler... it could be a good thing.

Jack Black is actually funny, most of the time (I love his performance in the Kung Fu Panda films). The other two, not so much.

I can't wait to see how that shakes out.

I understand and have it all in context, still I'm interested in seeing where it all goes. Hell, I have nothing to lose and it's fun. :)

Hhaa gotcha. I am interested as well! He could have simply been screen testing along with others who knows?

Exactly, you never know.

Even in my frozen tundra of Minnesota, I've had friends who were "connected" and over the years, most stuff didn't pan out but it turned out there was truth involved, some were bogus leads from the start but every once in a while, you got a gold nugget.

Nowadays, I don't get too wrapped up and invested, I just go with the flow....makes it fun.
