Ant-Man Ant-Man Casting Thread

Aaron Paul - younger scientist...clashing with Banner/Stark - Social Network style...

personally, I wouldn't be able to take Aaron Paul seriously as a scientist. I could see him as a desperate ex con with some electronics skill. :woot:

where'd you get the photo? and when was it taken? :hmm

Edgar's twitter. Edgar bumped into Aaron and took a photo with him.

I am shocked the internet has jumped all over it seeing as all Simon Pegg did was point at a picture of Ant-Man in a photo and then lots of people thought he was playing the character.

hey, you posted it in the Ant-Man casting thread.

Aaron Paul would kick ass as ant man. Doesn't hurt he is the best actor I've seen

admittedly, i originally hated the idea. but i've never watched Breaking Bad. and this guy has a really huge noggin. but he's clearly talented. and i think the speculative casting would be great for the movie; pr-wise. hell, they could have Cranston play Pym and Paul as Lang. of course, there's no way in hell Marvel could afford those two.

I want to bring my old suggestion Elijah Wood up again. Could he play Pym or Lang?

It's very telling, that picture is. Nowadays people don't just take random shots and tweet them, there's always some cryptic **** behind it.

So, Scott Lang then. :word:

Honestly, I could see Paul as an excellent Lang.

Eddie Redmayne would make a good Pym if Edgar wants to use a younger actor (in a flashback or modern day version)

i was reading some magazine over the weekend; because of a Thor 2 article. in it, Kevin Feige said that they hadn't ruled out an Ant-Man appearance in Avengers 2.

Hmmm... awesome! Do you recall what magazine it was?

Edit: It is awesome as long as it isn't just an afterthought that is detrimental to the story or character.

I hope we get atleast an after credit scene, Hawkeye in Thor style cameo or name drop in Avengers 2.

I didn't want to be the bearer of bad news. but I reread the article, this morning (page 87). I completely misinterpreted the comments. the "interviewer" threw in his/her own interpretations of the end; with a quote from Feige in the middle. so what was really said was the following...

(paraphrasing) Feige: we have no plans to introduce Pym Ant-Man in the Avengers
(followed immediately by the magazine's spin): but we're not ruling it out.

Ok this is subjective but a bit of info pulled together.....

Last week Edgar Wright posted that photo of Ant-Man and a bunch of blue screens. We all assumed it was from the 2012 Test Footage right? Well Wright never said that.

Then on IMDB a User got info from a friend who is costume fitter that texted this user that she was working on a project with Edgar Wright, with Lots of Blue Screens and actor Jamie Bell. She wasnt directly on set just wat she saw while fitting the costume....

Looked back threw Jamie Bells official Twitter and a day after Edgar Wright posted that pic of Ant-Mans back.....Jamie Bell confirmed he was in LA.

Jamie Bell? Not bad, not bad at all.
First Tintin, then Ant-Man. It's cool.

But I guess I can forget him being up for Newt Scamander now :(

Just some stuff I found on the matter :) Cause again Edgar Wright never said that pic from last week was from 2012 Test Footage...we all just assumed that o.O

So would Bell be Pym if true?

Lang is the one we may see in other films correct? Or will it be Pym?

That I have no idea. I also got a little more out of the IMDB user he tried asking his friend more questions about Ant-Man and all she really could give was her and her team was btought into LA for an entire 3 days and has since left for London

I thought Jamie Bell live in LA with his wife Evan Rachel Wood and daughter

Jamie Bell auditioned for Amazing Spider-Man.

Bell agreed to audition for the title role in director Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man.

“I’ve just never seen myself as Peter Parker,” he says. “I’ve always been more of a Batman person.

“But, you know, it is the biggest franchise in Hollywood for a young male actor. When you’ve got Sony [the Spider-Man studio] saying, ‘We really want you to come and screen test,’ of course you’re gonna do it — it’s a very flattering position to be in. Especially when you consider the other people that are also doing it.” One of those other people auditioning was Andrew Garfield, the fellow Brit (although he’s American-born) acclaimed and famed for his role in The Social Network. Bell and Garfield — who is the “nicest guy” — “had a great time” in what Bell calls “Spidey school: a great exercise, a great workout, learning all these fight routines.

“Then we were at this dinner — and this was right before [the casting] got announced — and a salt shaker fell off the table. And Andrew and I both instinctively went like this” — Bell shoots out his arm in a web-slinging, catch-a-falling-child move — “and there was a look in both our eyes: ‘We’ve been to Spidey school too long…’”

If Jamie Bell is in it, he's playing a 20something character. Scott Lang would be a logical assumption, if Old Hank Pym is still in the script; or at least a flashback young Pym. Or who knows, maybe he's a villain or supporting cast. But if he's getting fitted for an Ant-Man suit, as the IMDB user's costumer friend alleges, then it seems more likely to be Lang than Pym.
