I admit it, I like food and hate physical activity. If other people want to eat bland, boring foods and run a mile a day, more power to them. Its not like I'm huge and bloated, but I like sweets and salts, which is bad for someone with such an astronomically high triglyceride count. My doctor keeps telling me to get strict with my diet, but I would rather have a short, enjoyable life than a long one minus the things I like.

Anyone else willing to die young to have the things they want in life?

I'm not willing to die young, but I hate how being healthy is suddenly trendy, and if you happen to do anything that doesn't serve to keep your body in friggin' Captain America shape you get berated for it.

who says you have to eat bland, boring foods to eat healthy? That's a bad stigma! :p

In reference to your final question, I love cream cheese. The full fat philadelphia brand stuff. Delicious and I'll enjoy it till I die.

I also hate how anything "natural" or "organic" is assumed to be healthier.

What can I say? I love my burgers and fries. :oldrazz:

My only reason to stay in shape would be for my family, but I'm ok with never getting married or having kids, so the heck with em.

Yeah. I had a fricking health nut come through my checkout line today as I was eating one of the tiny Hostess powdered donuts. He was purchasing those little healthy energy bar thingies and he's like ''You know those are good for a quick burst of a energy?" and I'm like ''I don't need energy. I'm just hungry." He walks off with his stuff and goes ''There good for that too."

If wanted a damn energy bar, I'd eat a damn energy bar, leave me and my powdered donuts alone damn it!

Well , I know youre not really this stupid and you're half joking but just to be clear: You're not going to just suddenly drop dead from not eating healthy.
Whats really going to happen is you're going to develop diabetes and lose a foot or high blood pressure and need medication that costs and arm and a leg, or end up with PE and have vena cava surgery etc ,etc... and so on and so forth.
So much for that short but enjoyable part. :woot:

Or he'll live for a decent (as in not long, not short) amount of time, with minor health problems upon old age. Not everyone who doesn't have a health regimen is going to get horrible diseases.

^ I was pointing out that those are all diseases that might not necessarily kill you immediately. You have a point., But the flip side point is sometimes people like to think they're going to die Homer Simpson style chocking on the actual burger.

I see your point but considering my cholesterol on my Dad's side of the family and heart disease on my Mom's....I'm toast.

Correction: Toast with no will power.

As long as you plan it right, you can. :yay:

Seriously, I've heard of so many 90 and even 100 year olds who lived long lives. Did they balance their diet hardcore? No. Most say they enjoyed food.

I am starting to become a health freak. I haven't started a regular exercise routine yet, but I probably will soon. I've been watching what I eat tremendously, no fast food, fatty, salty or greasy foods, no junk food, no soda or coffee...I've been really strict about it lately. Honestly, I feel happier and better when I wake up every morning. Eating all the other junk sure tastes good, and I'll have the occasional craving now and again, but in the end I feel better about myself and my body will appreciate it in the long run.

I think it's very important to be healthy. However, I do not feel the need to project my diet choices onto strangers. If someone wants to be fatty, that's their choice.

I am however not a fatty and have a healthy metabolism. Therefore I shall not stop eating the things I enjoy.

And EdRyder, look up stories of how the oldest people in the world died and they are always asked how they ate. They say they just enjoyed what they liked to eat. They said they didn't have specific diet. Too much healthy can be un-healthy.

There's so much more processed food than there use to be, so living to be 100 may not be the case for our generation. I try to eat fresh food or frozen veggies/fruit. It doesn't always happen, I try not to beat myself up if I get a bit lazy and eat out and/or throw in a frozen entree. I know I need to cut down on sweets, I hate salt that is far from being an issue. I need to get back on the carrying a water bottle where ever I go kick.

No. Just recently a man died at the age of 110 ( I believe that was the age) and he said he didn't eat a strict diet of lots of greeny veggies. He actually said his favorite thing to eat was FRIED (Oh! Noes! The worst) Chicken.

Though I must admit EVEN I don't eat alot of fried stuff.

Again. Why do people seem to think their just going to drop dead from fried chicken? If he fried it in Crisco he'da been dead at 50,..If he was frying it in Canola hes alright.
I believe you when you say the man didnt eat a strict diet of greens but I dont believe he lived to be 110 eating fried chicken everyday either.

Demos doc is telling him he has high triglycerides- If he isn't already obese hes at risk for it which leads to heart disease and all kinds of cardiovascular issues. You're not going to have a short enjoyable life dude, you're going to have a long painful one fraught with all kinds of problems.Pretty soon you're gonna be askin' the doc if Viagra is right for you.(If that dont get you on board, its hopeless Jack)
Why even go to the doctor if ya aint gonna listen.
Send me your money instead. Ill get the creepy Burger King guy as your Pallbearer.Happy?
