Anyone else hate health nuts?

i dont wanna be 90-100 years old... especially eating natural plants and wood.
thats how the Ents are created

pizza 4 life!

I don't want to have a severe stroke or liver/kidney failure like some family members that have recently passed away. I've always frowned on the way I grew up eating in a southern household.

I gave up on my health years ago and said "**** it, I'll eat what I want".

Health food doesn't make you healthy. Eating right does. And you can eat anything that you want as long as you do it right.

^Yup, and as stated before there is an in between of Health freak and fatty.

Yeah. I had a fricking health nut come through my checkout line today as I was eating one of the tiny Hostess powdered donuts. He was purchasing those little healthy energy bar thingies and he's like ''You know those are good for a quick burst of a energy?" and I'm like ''I don't need energy. I'm just hungry." He walks off with his stuff and goes ''There good for that too."

If wanted a damn energy bar, I'd eat a damn energy bar, leave me and my powdered donuts alone damn it!
Hell yeah! :cmad:

Everything in moderation is the way I live. I like my steak, I like my burgers, I like my pizzas; I also like healthy salads and such. I work out plenty. I'm not going to try and live a longer life if it has to be filled with dull things I don't enjoy. If I want to smoke, I smoke. If I want to drink, I drink. I see absolutely no point in living for 100 years if all you do in that time is not do the things you'd like to do.

I admit it, I like food and hate physical activity. If other people want to eat bland, boring foods and run a mile a day, more power to them. Its not like I'm huge and bloated, but I like sweets and salts, which is bad for someone with such an astronomically high triglyceride count. My doctor keeps telling me to get strict with my diet, but I would rather have a short, enjoyable life than a long one minus the things I like.

Anyone else willing to die young to have the things they want in life?

Well alright

I agree. All things in moderation. Being a glutton would not make me happy and neither would being a health nut.

Im not a health nut but I refuse to eat fat and unhealthy foods all day. I like my pizza, cake, and ice cream every now and then but I have been paying attention to what I eat more often.

I guess its a good thing that I find salads and other healthy foods to be tasty.
And I don't see it as "I rather eat good stuff and die early...then eat nasty stuff and die late"....I see it as I rather eat healthy stuff and not have to go through painful medical issues when Im older.

I don't hate health nuts, because I still eat what I want, etc. I do go running several times a week, don't drink any alcohol sans those low alkie/lite beers once in a blue moon, and try to watch what I eat because yeah, my fam has a huge history of high EVERYTHING.

Let me clarify: My triglycerides were over 1000 when I was first tested. After medication, its usually in the 500 range. It should still be below 200. The way I see it, I'd have to become a vegetarian and run every day to get it where it should be. Sounds easy on paper, but in practice? Good luck.

I'm a fairly active young man, good shape - I'd say - and can still down the unhealthiest kinda food without hating myself for it. I don't have to eat twigs, leaves, and nuts in order to be healthy. Mmm Hmm!

But are you really healthy? I'm fit and attractive and in good physical shape but I have other health issues like blood pressure due to high cholestorol and things like that.

Holy crap! You were 5 times the normal level and still 2 and 1/2 times the normal level! That's with medication too and ain't that great, now you probably have to keep buying that medication, which eats into you're unhealthy fund. You might want to try running, pair of shoes only costs around $50, probably less than what you're paying for meds. I actually find exercise a great stress relief exercise. I don't eat particularly heathly, mainly just try to stay in shape, since my family does have a history of heath problems, would rather spend around $100 a year in running shoes, then hospital bills and money for meds. Plus I think I'd freak out if I one day woke up and couldn't see my dick, don't want to have to move fold of fat to take a piss.

I am. I try not to over-do the fatty foods & such, and lately I've been trying to eat a little healthier. My choice. I can't keep eating the things I do, for lunch mostly (microwave pizza, chicken strips & fries, etc.) and expect to stay as healthy for very long. I had an issue with high cholesterol a few years ago because I ate fast food nearly every day, so that lead to dieting for awhile and increased physical activity - which I've slacked with at times, but have picked back up on as of late. Other that that, no real health issues. Knock on wood.

Cool.

I think comic book movies might also be contributing to this...
I mean how many self respecting men did not want to have Christian Bale's body when they saw him shirtless in Batman Begins...

Let Captain America come along and ....

On the flip side... some people like being fat.. if you are happy then all the power to you

Damn, I never did answer the question....no...I don't hate health nuts. As a matter fact I love the cyclists and runners that go around with their shirts off, all glistening and ****..... :meow:

My family feels it necessary to eat meat all the time and I can't process that or cheese or anything:o and I didn't even have my intestines pulled out by suction from a pool.:csad:

A line has to be drawn because of health costs being paid by society for eating, but besides that if you can say you are honestly comfortable eat all the eggos in the microwave if you want to.

They say coffins are being made bigger and bigger to meet the demands of our widening waists.

I am far from being a holier than thou, I loves to eat and cooking is extremely fun for me.

Actually, never mind my whining and ********, folks. I just got back from the doctor and she said I lost 12 pounds and my blood pressure is way down. All from not drinking pop every day, or rarely. Now if only running could be made appealing.

I remember Leno made a joke about Americans getting so fat we would soon need to get MRIs done in zoo machines because we were too fat to use normal sized machines. Then it actually came true. Some guy had to use an MRI meant for marine mammals at a zoo.

gotta say i'm not bothered about people who keep in shape, but those people who are like "ya....ya...i just done 20 miles, 200 laps, and 44,000 squat thrusts before breafast....yeh....ya..." they should be shot...

I also hate how anything "natural" or "organic" is assumed to be healthier.

i have a theory...natural and organic stuff is smaller and crappier so if we GM every food then we should be able to solve world hunger at some point:huh:

I'm not a believer in depravity. I think the best is the common sense approach of eating in moderation of anything. Listening to the body is best rather than eating out of pure emotion or addiction because the love life is bad or something triggering extreme eating behaviors.

On the whole I eat lots of fruits, veggies, nuts, dairy, and seafood. Lately, it's been chillier than usual in my neck of the woods for some time now. So sometimes my body's been asking to be fed fatty stuff such as beef curry. I ate half a serving of what I was given at the curry/ramen place. Boy did I need it because I was freezing and feeling ill. It even had a chunk of fat in the mix and I savored the fatty goodness mixed with the spicy curry and rice. Hit the spot. I probably eat that stuff 5 times a year, maybe. It's good when I need it but not for everyday.

Oh, I had a huge chip addiction awhile back. I'm talking eating a whole big bag of Cheetos for dinner. That kind of thing. Now I keep it far away from me. Yeah, chips was my crack. Felt good as I was eating it but then after I just felt disgusted with myself. And my body and stomach were in knots. Don't miss those days. :O
