Barry has never before left Central City when it was in immediate danger, and it's implied that he did so here.

No, it isn't. The situation that had occured on Barry's end was referred to in PAST TENSE. It is entirely possible that the immediate threat had calmed down afterwords, nor is it explicitly stated what exactly Zoom had done in CC.

A thought did occur to me, with set pics making it seem like they'll be addressing Oliver's son, what if the grave is for his son? The show will not be around so long that they'd get to turn his son into Red Arrow/have him take up the Green Arrow mantle, so I think that's another possibility.

Good start. Really enjoyed it. After last season this show can only go up imo.

Way better premiere than Flash, I am surprised. Hopefully the quality remains the same or gets better from here on out.

As I said, there's no chance in heck that the writers of The Flash are going to resolve the Zoom storyline in its entirety a month-and-change before the conclusion of the season.

Zoom's very presence would place Central City in immediate and perpetual danger, and only the death of someone like Oliver or Felicity would be enough to draw him away from the city in the face of such a situation.

Who says Zoom will be completely dealt with in six months?

Felicity does all the computer stuff for Team Arrow so I would be surprised if they killed her off. I think the grave will be Thea's though I wouldn't mind if it's Detective Lance's since I don't feel he adds much to the show.

It does if it's Felicity who died.

No, it doesn't. Are you seriously suggesting that Barry would leave Central City while it was under attack to spend less than a minute staring at a tombstone?

A tag of "6 months later" places that graveside scene in April, assuming that the build-up to the scene happens in real time, and there's no chance in heck that they completely resolve the Zoom crisis a month-and-change before the end of the season.
I never said otherwise. What I said is that he most likely took care of business before making the trip, which doesn't mean that he was able to permanently stop Zoom.

Man I actually really enjoyed this episode! Everything was on point, and I actually like Oliver! That new costume was great though. I really hope the season stays up to this par, if not above it.
Only things I didn't like were:
-Diggle being a jerk
-Diggle's helmet. (It doesn't even go all the way around his head, which makes it REALLY look like a cheap mask
-Det. Lance, just being himself I guess.

I'd give this episode a solid 8, whereas the Flash premier was a 7 for me.

And why can't Barry leave for a funeral? I doubt that he won't have any free days at all, no matter what threat he is gonna face.

He didn't make it to the funeral actually, Zoom kept him from it, he was visiting Oliver after the funeral.

To me, it seemed like Barry was there for Oliver and not necessarily who died. I can't see them killing Felicity considering how much they cater to the Olicity fanbase. So it's most likely Thea which is a big shame. :( I can see Oliver being sad for the rest but Thea and Felicity are the only ones I can see him shed a tear for.

love it though!! and as someone mentioned this was much better than the flash premier.... man!! call me GREEN ARROW!!! loved that ^&*!!!

I love that we're one episode in, and the season's primary antagonist already has a huge presence. This episode was a lot of fun, hope the show can keep it up for the rest of the season.

The body could be either Lance or Diggle. Might depend on if Ramsey is still also on that Selleck show Blue Bloods.

Nobody, Digific just tries to make 10 assumptions per every post he makes.

Digi is extremely annoying with that. He seems to really dislike Flash and Arrow yet frequents the forums. And like you said just always makes crazy assumptions and I think tries to push his own agenda. He "knows all" when it comes to writing etc. but whatever. On to the episode.

Loved this premiere, so much awesome stuff going on. Green Arrow, Speedy, Darhk, Hal Jordan Easter egg/cameo. The flash forward at the end, Barry cameo. Oh man this is a great start to the season :woot:

There we go. Much better.

Maybe the grave is Roy's? :oldrazz:

Talk about a strong season premiere. This is the first truly great episode of Arrow I've seen in a long time. Besides Diggle still having trust issues and Lance being...Lance...I really enjoyed seeing everyone back, especially the lighter Oliver. I also liked the Olicity scenes this time around where in season three they did nothing but annoy me. As for the past, I am being glad to see Oliver going back to the island.

I cannout wait to see where the season leads. Arrow is back! No, GREEN ARROW.

9/10

Great premiere imo, much better than last seasons.

Grave ain't felicity (unfortunately)

We all know oliver will propose to her in the finale (based on the writer's MO). Plus if it was her grave, oliver would be a lot more emotional.

Alright, 4 minutes in, why wasn't blowing up the tires their first move? And why hasn't the truck door been turned into swiss cheese?

Very good. Hopefully Arrow can maintain the momentum week to week.

I liked that Oliver actually did some [censored]-talking to the villain this time. Keep that up. I always veiwed GA, Flash, and Spidey as Muhammad Ali styled [censored]-talkers. They infuriate their opponents into making mistakes before dropping them physically. I'd like to see more of that moving forward.

There we go. Much better.

Arrow, for the most part, executes solid individual episodes. The problem is their longer-term arcs - which often seem poorly planned or ad hoc. (E.g., Sara is dead. No, she’s alive! No, she’s really dead this time. No…)

Last night's Arrow was pretty good. I love the inclusion of the supernatural and the next iteration of Green Arrow. It would have been a perfect episode, but, Diggle's constant complaining became really annoying. He's become this season's Tommy, unfortunately. Speaking of his dialogue, it was always a coin toss of "I will never, ever trust Oliver again" or "I gotta go home and check on my daughter." If this holds up through the season, I anticipate a drinking game could be made out of it. B+
