I really think Thea needs to be in the know on everything sooner than later, same goes for Quentin finding out about Sara. Those two secrets need to not be secrets anymore.

Solid episode writing wise, amazing on the action. I just assume Thea is idiotic and coast with he stuff, the Arrow team kicked ass, love all of the LOA stuff... but Ollie's survival was a tad bit of a plot hole.

It was more than that to me. It's put a massive bad taste in my mouth for this whole season so far. It took what was a great season finale and an opportunity to introduce another part of Ra's legacy (the pits) and instead cheapened the entire thing. Ollie's "survival" was laughable, and now just made that finale cheap shock value instead of an outlet to advance the story.

This entire season has been severely lowered in my eyes. That's just lazy writing, and cheap shock tactics to keep viewers watching. And the worst part is that it wasn't needed. It's a huge disappointment.

lol well he should know captain kirk would have beaten Ras too like he did Khannnn & every other alien & human mutant & super soldier stronger then him oy.

He was way more op the Batman ever will be with how dc used push batman at times

I bet Boromir (LOTR) now wishes that he was pierced by several arrows on top of a icy mountain now after seeing Oliver survive because of cold temperature and a strong will.lol

Did anyone else catch the news report referring to Roy as Red Arrow?

I really like the idea someone had here where Oliver gets the Green Arrow name as a way if distinguishing him from Roy.

worst part of the episode, huge wasted opportunity for something awesome. Still a strong episode otherwise.

I liked how Laurel got **** kicked every time, shows that it takes more than a mask and a few boxing lessons to be a hero. She really needs to stop lying though. She's just making her life harder by not telling her dad.

Here is my full review :) (Brick is the bestest :D)

Agree with everyone about the terrible 'death' explanation. It makes Oliver seem immortal and Ra's seem incompetent. Thea continues to be an idiot. Laurel is annoying, but her canary is OK (maybe bring another sonic scream-ball next time?).

I loved the Maseo/Tatsu/Oliver stuff (other than the death-not-death rubbish), especially the link between past and present. Vinnie Jones is Vinne Jones, so obvs awesome. Team Arrow is a mess, but it should be and I like the way it's being handled (except that the 'Sara's alive, Captain Q, honest' stuff).

Generally speaking, this whole season has felt like two people have been fighting for control of the story, one is a genius, one is a moron. So many of the good story ideas are marred by laziness, stubbornness and plain idiocy.

I really don't understand how the show is being handled so badly after season 2 and the Flash have both been so good.

Give Shatner a guest shot,for Pete's sake!:argh:

- Malcolm being so easily swayed to remain in Starling.

.

I like the way Barrowman delivered the line as only he could. It suggests to me that he has something in mind. He doesn't seem the type to act without thinking his moves out three steps in advance. (He and Dr Wells should get together some time.Talk things over.:hehe:)

Man I really like Vinnie Jones in this role. I find him as intimidating as Slade even without being all Mirakuru'd.
I like this stumbling process for Laurel as Canary. I just hope people get how stories are told and things take time but I'm not confident they do get it.
I do wish the lying about Sara to Captain Lance wasn't still happening. It's just making Sara's death cast a bigger shadow over the season than it should. But I gladly welcomed the discussion Felicity/Ray, Felicity/Laurel had putting their purpose in perspective. With criticism of how a loved one's death seems to always be the factor in pushing someone to be a vigilante, it was nice to change that up.

I keep imagining that Kitana may teach Laurel more fighting..I don't know why but it'd be a nice different path than Oliver doing it.

I'm starting to get the feeling....Captain Lance is indeed going to die shortly after he learns the truth. They seem to be making an awfully big deal over "That which he must not know". If he finds out and takes it like a trooper,it's a huge anticlimax. If he finds out then dies, they spared him several months of life . I can't see it being the former. Not after this big buildup.

Would people be okay with him never finding out and dying thinking his daughter was still alive?
Either he finds out and dies, finds out and doesn't really get angry and it's sort of anti-climactic but at least we're past it or he finds out stays alive and is really upset causing a rift between he and Laurel.

That might be the best course. He finds out and gets angry with Team Arrow for keeping it from him. I really don't want to see him die,but his role has been somewhat marginalized lately.

Nice Red Arrow shout out on the news footage.

Vinnie Jones looks like he is having fun as Brick. I liked the little face off he had with Ray and his line "I suggest you move your sweet ass!"

I like they are still showing how rookie Laurel is.

Roy really stepped up in this episode. I hope we see more of this assertive Roy going forward.
Every time I see this title,I can't help thinking of this song:

If I have to suffer,so does everybody.:woot:
Is this better? :woot:

She tried to kiss Tommy, who ended up being revealed as her half-brother.

Totally forgot Thea had the hots for her half brother.

They let Hipster DJ's in the LOA now.

If Quentin dies from learning about all this, I'm gonna flip my lid. They've already pushed the Aunt May Syndrome further than it needed to be without actually making it true. What he should do when he finds out is disown his trainwreck of a daughter.

I don't want to see Lance die either to be honest.

If I was Lance and I learned the truth, I would never speak to Laurel again for keeping the fact Sarah died from me.

Agreed.

I really like the idea someone had here where Oliver gets the Green Arrow name as a way if distinguishing him from Roy.

And yet Laurel is just "the woman in black"? What was the point of Laurel dubbing Sarah the canary last season if it isn't going to catch on in the press?

And again, what is it with Star City and refusing to call in the National Guard? This new mayor just might be worse for the city than Blood.

Lastly, back to the "resurrection that wasn't", I don't think it's even a hypocritical grasp for "realism". It's just laziness by the writers who didnt want to bother with the long term consequences of the pit. It would be a great story, but they couldn't be bothered to put forth the effort.

I agree that a bandage, some herbs and a few days rest is a rather underwhelming way to resolve the “hero dies! (not really)” trope. But it’s possible that there’s more going on and that some stuff is being withheld for a later, dramatic reveal. I’m thinking along the lines of the Coulson/“Tahiti” storyline in SHEILD - which turned out to be more extreme and bizarre than first appeared. So conceivably, a quasi-mystical/Pit resurrection (flashback) could still be evoked.

Reading some other fan ideas, I think there's more to Ollie surviving than what we have at the moment.
The flashbacks could very well tie into why he's not dead.
I wouldn't get too upset just yet.
Arrow tends to slow burn and pay off late.

If later on we find out he survived just by sheer Hal Jordan will, then you can riot.

Loved the episode, I'm starting to enjoy the flashbacks as they begin to tie-in with Ollie's current situation, Amell was right about patience.

I really liked how Roy, Laurel, Digg and Felicity came together across the course of the episode to get the City a win over Brick, it showed their resolve as a team and for me it enhanced all 4 characters.

I am glad Thea stood her ground with Merlyn but I was irritated that he didn't just tell her Ollie was the Arrow, at this point if he thinks he's dead I can't see why he'd not tell her since she knows he is not being fully truthful. I'm also glad that DJ floppy is a member of the LOA, it means he's not far from an arrow or sword! :halo:

As usual the action was very good, I particularly liked Ollie's sliding gunplay in the club. :woot:
