Oliver isn't a freaking DA, who take an oath to uphold the law. So no, it's not the same thing. I didn't say that she was the "worst thing ever" not even close. I simply said that she shouldn't have THAT job, not after everything that she's done to violate her oaths/ethics.

Agreed. Laurel shouldn't be DA at all with her track record of drug abuse, being a drunk and violating ethics.

Getting real close to bouncing people on extended vacation or even having the subforum masked from their view entirely. This back and forth (even if not targeted at a specific individual or post) is going to end, one way or another.

Irrespective of viewpoint, stop trying to paint the 'other side' as who's worst, more irrational or with whatever other needless jabs that continue to perpetuate this nonsense. Let a mod deal with whatever is aberrant and stop cluttering up these threads and the board, in general, with more of this petty infighting.

Good grief.

Apologies if you feel I've contributed, but with this post, you've officially become one of my favorite mods.

If that's the standard you want to play by, her father shouldn't still have a badge. What's good for the Goose is good for the Gander.

Sooooooo, thea was pretty hot with that new haircut right?*

*subtle subject change.

PS. sorry for the probably non-sensical wall of text, just hoping we can either stop arguing the same stuff. EDIT: and Mister J said it first and more concisely.
Nothing nonsensical about it. It was a fair assessment.
(It amuses me that the Joker is the voice of reason)
Seriously, this is time I could be spending planning to poison a reservoir or something.

And with this post, you've help to further dull the pain from when I was unceremoniously kicked out of the Boy Scouts for cursing out the Scoutmaster.

He actually didn't. :funny:

Ahh, youth.

This episode reminded me why I don't care about AoS or Gotham. Costumed superhero doing superhero things can make all the difference.

Really liked the development on Thea and Laurel's part.

When I saw that water my first thought was "please, not slapping water again" but hey, boiling water was pretty creep. I do think Thea it's not really going back because of Oliver, I don't know, her thanks daddy and the "I don't care about hot coffe on my hand" were very suspicius.

Laurel's plot this episode to me seemed like the writers acknologing some mistakes and really doing the turning point for her character. I mean, she was at the AA meeting and made clear "I thought I was going to want to drink or take pills but I didn't'" (writers, ok, drug and alchoholic storyline erased), "I had my share of selfdefense classes", tries to beat up the guy gets beaten pretty bad, Oliver says she doesn't have the training Sara has she replies "I know, that's why I need to start" (writers, ok, gets training started). This way they separate her training storyline from Oliver (something some complained that she should been her own hero), by having the who killed Sara storyline she's connected to the main plot (last season was a lot of "her storyline has nothing to do with the main plot") and from now and then we'll be showed that she has been training hard to get there (a lot complained that she would be a kickass from a training during a mid season break). It does seem to be paying off as we see more posters who are leaning to the "she was not that bad/I kind liked her" diferent to last season where it was a lot less users.

Another thing that I noticed is a small development on Roy's Arsenal. They haven't called him that name yet, but if you noticed, the first episode he used the bow and arrow, the second episode on the Queen's office fight, he was using the sticks (I don't remember how to called, it's a small boo staff on each hand) and this episode he didn't shoot the arrow on the mission with Digle and Oliver, he ditched it and decided to go with hand to hand fight, I think they are showing some variety and not relying on him being great with the bow.

I am liking Felicity's interaction with Ray Palmer so far, want to see more where it goes as this gives Felicity something more to do than just being on the cave.

I believe they are called eskrima (sp?)

This was easily my favourite episode of the season (so far of course).

It was great to see the time taken to focus on developing the characters, especially Laurel and Thea, without worrying about a villain of the week. But, at the same time, they still confirmed Oliver's ongoing search for Sara's killer, provided a little bit more information about Ray's interest in Felicity and her role at Queen Consolidated and also provided some development for Roy and Diggle.

I enjoyed the development for Laurel and I thought that it was the actor's strongest performance to date. I definitely think that Laurel needs to resign from her job, because she appears to be pretty atrocious at it (especially manhandling a witness last week), but the various anger issues and her desire to work through her anger by beating up ruffians made some slight degree of sense.

However, I'm not so sure that someone who knocks someone else out in a sparring match and leaves the ring without checking them is the best teacher. Not to mention the fact that he covered for someone who committed an armed (?) robbery because it was a "mistake" and that someone didn't deserve to be punished.

Then again, the fact that he's apparently psychic and can read Laurel's mind to know about her anger issues is probably a plus. Of course, I'm guessing that Laurel Lance would have quite a lot of google results and publicity with her dating (ex) billionaire Oliver Queen, deceased billionaire Tommy Merlyn and Mayoral Candidate/Winner Sebastian Blood. Not to mention the fact that she's the daughter of the Police Chief and has been the target of assorted attacks and kidnappings by various evil-doers, serial killers, assassins, etc over the last two years. So, Wildcat perhaps just took a wild guess at Laurel's anger issues based on information from the news.

Thea's development was good and I look forward to discovering her real motivations for returning to Star(ling) City. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Thea didn't know that Oliver was the Arrow before she left and we don't have any confirmation that Malcolm Merlyn told her that Oliver was the Arrow during their training? So, that's a "lie" that Malcolm is perpetuating and will no doubt come back to bite him. I was surprised why Oliver didn't ask Thea how she could afford a mansion with servants on a waitress' salary. Or does she have a decent amount of money from the sale of Moira's personal effects (jewellery, expensive handbags, etc)? Or did Oliver get all that money, which is how he can afford to fly (with the plebs instead of in a private plane) to exotic islands?

Yes, you are correct. I'm guessing maybe Thea was really good at her training and one of the things Malcom taught her was to lie effectively (spell?) and she may saw that Oliver and Malcom were both hinding something and is playing nice to get the truth out of them because, c'mon, she said on that letter that she would not be weak anymore and not trust anyone anymore, so I didn't really believe in her words when she was talking with all of them, I was always waiting for that final look that we know she's lying...

Nice to see Wildcat show up. The Merlyn scenes are the most interesting Thea has ever been. The action scenes were decent despite Ollie and Roy not being in costume.
