Assassin´s Creed III - Part 1

Conor's Tomahawk isn't a ranged weapon, it's for melee (although there may be a throw function). It says in that Game Informer article that he dual wields a knife and a tomahawk and can indeed dual wield most combinations.

The Tomahawk also looks like it'll replace the hookblade.

Trailer really didn't do much for me. Showed off some cool moves but then it was like a RTS trailer at the end. Hoepfully the one they'll show at E3 is cooler like the others have been.

Yeah I was kind of hoping for a CGI trailer since they've done one for every other game in the series when they revealed it.

It seems like the trailer was running on the new engine, so it's likely this is how it'll look in game. Splendid I say.

The engine of the ACII trilogy was dated by Brotherhood. New engine or not, there's a fat chance of the game looking as good as the CGI trailer. None of the AC games have ever looked as good as their trailers.

I'd rather have something that's dated (if it can really be called that, it still looks amazing to me), than something that will be graphically impressive but work and run terribly.

But wasn't it just established that that wasn't a CGI trailer? I mean, it looked in game to me. I mean, the Revelations CGI trailer looked slicker than that, I think we can assume it's the in game engine.

I think it was in-engine using the game assets. Similar to Uncharted cutscenes.

No they said the trailer was basically how it would look in the game. It wasn't actual gameplay, but it wasn't pre-rendered like a cutscene.

I highly doubt the game will look that good.

Why?

Without sounding like I'm knocking the trailer's graphics, there are plenty of other console games whose graphics are much better. This trailer's graphics aren't anything so incredible that it'd be a long shot for the actual game to be comparable.

That trailer is far more cgi than it is in game. Maybe thats what the games in-game cinematics will look like, but not gameplay. I mean I'm all for it if it is tho.

I'm assuming Connor is equipped with a knife, too....he's hell on ranged weapons, obviously, but I could see him getting into trouble once he's fired his guns, thrown his tomahawk into some redcoat's skull, and now someone's closing a lot closer than bow range....*surely* he'll have a saber or knife to work with?
He'll have tomahawks, knives, bow and arrows, pistols, the hidden blade, and a sword.

I'll wait until we here from Ubisoft, but I am willing to bet that was pre-rendered using the game engine but sweetened. That's what they do with Uncharted cutscenes. It's all engine and uses the games assets, but looks way better than the gameplay visuals.

I wish we can scalp some redcoats :oldrazz:

And as awesome as the trailer was....it needed some Woodkid.

During the IGN Live Stream, they said that Ubisoft said that the trailer would be using the in-game engine. It wasn't pre-rendered like what we saw from Revelations at E3.

And I can totally buy that the graphics will be similar to the trailer, especially considering this game has been in the making for 3 years and is by the original team who made ACII. Its not like they took the engines from ACII and build around it like they did with the other two sequels. They've been making changes and most likely looked at the other two while they were being developed to see what works and what doesn't.

Maybe my mac just hates you, but none of your pictures ever show up? Am i the only one?

This is gonna be badass. And I could use a U.S. history refresher in the form of a video game.

Might be a little early to know for sure, but will I need to have played Brotherhood and Revelations to get the full story? I've only played the first two games and don't have much interest in the others. Did the other games continue the Desmond plot line or just Ezio's story?

Eh. Can't say I'm particularly excited about the period or setting at all.

I'm very stoked for this game, I wonder what the characters name is.
