Assassins Creed Odyssey

Heads up: there is a glitch that causes The Serpents Lair mission to disappear and if it does you're unable to continue the main story. Luckily tho it doesn't seem to corrupt all of the game's save files. If you get this glitch just go into the load menu and reload an earlier auto save file. If that one is glitched just keep going back through the auto saves until you find one that isnt glitched. The game continually logs auto saves every 5 - 10 minutes. so you shouldnt have to go too far back.

This happened to me this morning and I had to load a few different auto saves before I found one that was not glitched.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has Evie Frye – here’s how to unlock her

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey might take place centuries before any other game in the series, but Ubisoft is more than happy to let you enjoy some anachronistic cameos from previous series protagonists. Evie Frye, half of the brother-sister duo that headlined Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, can join your ship crew – here’s how to unlock her.

Evie is unlocked via the Ubisoft Club, and she’s free – but you’ll need to have played a whole lot of Assassin’s Creed to get her. You’ll need to acquire the Master Assassin badge, which requires you to have 7,500 XP from across the series. Experience is earned through Uplay’s built-in achievement system – so if you’ve played previous games,

Reviews are looking good.

I'm definitely enjoying it a lot, so far it might be my favorite entry in the franchise since Black Flag.

I've gotta say this 1:1 enemy scaling is ****ing stupid. They've got the areas with level suggestion but the level scaling makes that pointless because the enemy npcs in all those areas will always match the players level. And what's the ****ing point of leveling up and getting better gear if I never have anything to show for it? The enemy NPCs will always be equal to me. I dont ever feel badass with level scaling. I feel like I'm wasting my time spinning my wheels for nothing.

As a feature it makes sense for NG+ and replays because it adds additional challenge after you've leveled way up, but it should always be optional. Like it was in Origins. Ubi Quebec kept saying this was an rpg and that the player could play it their way, and then they force level scaling onto the player's experience!

And on the games official forums there seems to be over 90% support for an option to turn it off but Ubi Quebec is ignoring that request so far.

Damn, I really hate that. Takes a lot of the fun out of progression for me.

A lot of players are unhappy with this decision, and I have to agree. It takes all the fun out of leveling up and becoming stronger, finding better gear, crushing those below you. It feels all for nothing sometimes.

People are voicing their grievances on the Ubisoft forums, I'm doing the same.

Another issue I care about is the lack of head gear in cutscenes, this has always been a big deal to me in video games with all sorts of gear and alternate ways to change your character's look. To not have it fully represented in cinematics is immersion breaking IMO.

Another thing to be aware of, WHEN COLLECTING THE LAST PIECE OF A LEGENDARY ARMOR SET, IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY LEVEL UP ALL PIECES TO YOUR CURRENT LEVEL.

I saw this over on Reddit, it'll be a good way to save up on resources. Since upgrading your gear to higher levels is damn near unfeasible without using those Helix credits.

Save searching for legendary gear till you're the max level.

I actually like the enemy scaling, though I do agree it should be optional for those that don't like it, but I just don't have fun playing in lower level areas if the enemies pose no threat, it kills the point of stealth if you can just waltz in and easily kill everyone.

Probably because there's the $10 permanent XP boost.

It'll be a while before I can play this but I'm intrigued at the black panther Easter egg they have.

What's funny is I played origins through a few months ago and was telling my friend how much I could see a big open world action rpg black panther game. Then they go and throw this little Easter egg here. The tinfoil hat fan in me would love to think that Ubi is secretly working on a BP game.
Well two thing where the black pather is invovled it may have something to do with the weapon kill monger used for the movie and the protags of this game series using the same thing.

also inthe past I had people that are greek tell me this since highschool they they them selve look into thierancestry blood line and they say they have some ansesters in nigeria . and this happen again with a guy worked with that's greek that went to the same high school I went but hewent inthe 80's. his older brother did the ansestry thing and the result was the same . saying he has some nigerian root's

he said it's possble some greek visted the place as sailors. so....

Finally I can finally put up the easy allies Review with the EPN.tv one. man they took long for peep's hat weren't At NYCC.

Chickens...those ****ing feathery beasts. I've been nearly killed by those vicious bastards one time too many!

I know roosters can be absurdly aggressive in realife, but these things in this game are running in packs and I'm convinced they live on a steady diet of iron, lead paint, and the screams of their victims.

So is it good? Does it feel like its own unique entry or just more Origins content?

I'm waiting to pick this up until I get a 4K TV next month.

So how do you guys feel about being able to repeatedly being able to fight for Athens or Sparta? You can reap a lot of resources and money. However I was hoping for a permanent choice.

Its incredibly irritating that the pelo war is nothing more than a game mechanic. It's stupid that Kassie's main allies are athenians and yet she has to destroy athen's power structure and supplies to gain loot and cash. Some ally she is. Yeah, Kassandra is a mercenary, and mercenaries fight for anyone, switching allegiance, left and right, but it's silly thT Kassandra fights for athens and then destroys Athens or vice versa. It makes Kassie a two faced *****. I also hate that if you side with athens in a region and defend it from sparta later on you can repeat the process and side with sparta. I ****ing despise that I can side with an army and fight with them and after the battle those troops will still attack me. If the player sides with athenians the player should be attacked by athenians. Once you side with a nation to attack or defend that should be locked in that way for the rest of the game.

Also if I'm given a mission by an athenian to go talk to an athenian in a fort I shouldnt have to sneak through the fort or slaughter the entire ****ing fort to get to the person I need to talk to. I should be able to walk in the fort peacefully and talk.

Overall this game is severely unbalanced, to encourage microtransactions, and much of the systems are poorly implemented. A lot of conflicting ideas and conflicting systems. Ubi Quebec made this game, but I've heard that Ubi Montreal is making the next one so hopefully the next one will be better like Origins.

The games map and the scale of this game is undeniably bat**** impressive tho. I cant fault Quebec for that. I've never felt so dwarfed by a game's world.

Overall, id give the game a 7.5.

Story I'd give an 8.

World I'd give an 10.

Systems I'd give a 5.

P.S. Brasidas's entrance is without a doubt the most badass moment in the entire franchise. Spartaaaaa!!!!

I am waiting on this one. I still haven't finished the last one, and I still have Hollow Knight and Tomb Raider to finish. Also, Red Dead is coming. How would everyone compare this one to Origins?

In many ways its superior to Origins. In many ways its inferior. Many of the systems have been simplified. Many have been altered in ways that I think are inferior. The world dwarfs Origins.

The upgrade and experience system is one of the most brutally greedy I've ever encountersd. To upgrade armor and your ship you need a lot of money and a lot of resources. For example I'm level 26. Some of my armor is stuck at level 15, because I cant afford to upgrade. And the longer you wait to upgrade the more it costs. Right now to upgrade my breast armor I need 500+ iron, 300+ leather, 100+ of something else and thousands of drachma. And you only get 3 - 4 pieces of iron or leather from rocks and animals. It's even worse with the ship. Its beyond obvious that they are trying to get gamers to buy the resource packs in the game's real cash store.

And the game is stingy as hell with experience points. I finally had to break and spend $10 on the permanent double XP boost in the store. So far I've spent $130 on this game and havent had even hlf the fun Ijad in Origons.

But I love Kassie's story and the world is fun to explore for the most part so I'm sticking with it, but Ubi Quebec are officially on my wary list. I won't buy another AC game from Ubi Quebec blindly.

I'd put Kassie/Alexios' family story and their journey on par with Ezio. Its beyond tragic and reminds me a lot of the Skywalker family story. A great bloodline with a destiny that destroyed a family and in spite of all that horror Kassie/Alexio want to fight the evil, save Greece, and save their family.

Also, the Kult of Kosmos (this game's version of Order of Ancients) is something else. The Kult is massive, pervasive, and makes the Order of Ancients seem small and quaint. The Kult has members that range from slavers, politicians, insane cannibals, beast tamers, gladiators, assassins, bounty hunters, baby murdering old ladies. Its really bonkers.

Oh and there are around 50 Kult members that you need to assassinate. And they range from level 13 - 50+. Like I said this game dwarfs Origins and what Bayek had to fight.

Last edit:

This game does not pull punches. Early in the game the main character has to decide whether to protect a family of infected plague victims from being executed by priests or to let the priests kill the family to protect the rest of the island's inhabitants. The family includes young children. The only other option is to refuse to choose at all and the family is still executed.

Yeah it makes no narrative sense within the story. Here I am laying waste to Athens' forces over and over again, and I'm about to step foot in the capital. I'm abusing it for sure though, so I can level up quicker. But overall it doesn't really appeared to be thought out.

They should have arranged the story so that you can work for either Sparta or Athens permanently.

it's one of the compalaint's in the EPN.tv's video review of ROTR too. just letting you know. most like why it's inthe 8.5 zone.

God I have such ADD with this game. I swore I would do a story mission and progress things when I turned it on after work.

I played it for 6 hours and didn't start the story mission till the very end of my plays session.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey launch sales top franchise records for current console generation

Strong first week sales for the Ancient Greece-set Assassin's Creed.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey had the best launch week performance in the franchise for the current console generation, publisher Ubisoft announced.

The Ancient Greece-set entry in the 2007-launched series released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 5.

“We are incredibly proud of what the team accomplished with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and humbled by the amazing reception from critics and players,” said Ubisoft senior vice president of sales and marketing Geoffroy Sardin in a press release. “Based on the quality of the game and the very encouraging reactions from players, we expect Odyssey to be one of the top performing Assassin’s Creedgames of all-time. Launch is just the start of this epic journey. We have robust content plans for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey that will keep players engaged and exploring the game’s beautiful and compelling world for a long time to come.”

Here is an overview of the game, via Ubisoft:

Developed by Ubisoft Quebec in association with eight other Ubisoft studios, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey takes players on a heroic voyage through Ancient Greece amidst one of the deadliest conflicts in history, the Peloponnesian War.

In a first for the franchise, players choose their hero, either Alexios or Kassandra, outcast Spartan mercenaries who will explore a beautiful living, systemic open world, where they will uncover the truth about their mysterious pasts and become legendary Greek heroes.

The launch of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is just the beginning; the live roadmap plan is the biggest and most ambitious in the franchise, deepening storytelling through its episodic structure. Season Pass owners will access two major storylines, Legacy of the First Blade and The Fate of Atlantis, with three episodes each and all players will receive the free story missions, The Lost Tales of Greece, along with recurring in-game events and access to Discovery Tour.

I got into the Google streaming project. It works but far from ideal. Id say the resolution looked to be about 720p with it dipping to 480p at times and it also kicked me out. I'll mess around with it for a bit and use it to demo the game but I'll still buy it on PS4 on BF.

I reached level 50 today, and I haven't even finished chapter 5. And I still have a lot of the map to uncover, buts it's been damn fun. I'm going after the all the legendary animals right now.

I found a funny Easter egg. It's not really an Easter egg but IDK what to call it.

There is a side mission where Kassandra has to tell Perseus's story to a group of kids. You're given various dialogue option moments. Each moment has two different versions of bits of the perseus story. One version of the story is the real myth. But the other version of the story, I **** you not, is an exact retelling of the plot of the 2010 remake of Clash of the Titans. Its beat for beat too. In all its awfulness. And if you tell that version to the kids they will say you made it up and that it was stupid.:lmao:

Ubisoft throwing shade.

So here's a little PSA for y'all. When looting a legendary chest at level 50, change the difficulty to nightmare, and the loot will always be level 50, rather than a few levels below.
