I wonder if there will be just one city or if you can go to Cairo and other places?
Accessible isnt the same as standalone. Sure a person can jump into any of the games (the series is like network television and some book series that way), but that doesnt make them standalone. They arent. Syndicate is the only one that really comes close to being standalone because its set set in the 19th century and the characters from the previous games are dead and gone and dont factor into the plot. But the rest all have characters and events and plots that carry over from one game to the next. They are no more standalone than a typical network television episode.
Can Bayek track down a shadowy figure in this new story mission?

Although Assassins Creed Origins is looking to take the series into a true open-world RPG direction, there are still many classic gameplay elements to be found here for longtime fans, including what we saw in this brief E3 2017 demo. Talking to informants, hunting for clues, and throwing hapless guards off of high ledges remain at the core of Assassins Creed as seen in our video below.
The original assassin, Bayek, who is a sheriff of sorts in ancient Egypt, is on the hunt for a man only known as The Crocodile. Bayek may not be as agile as previous assassins, but his methods are nonetheless effective with his bow and arrow, curved sword, and shield.

Developers of open-world games are always comparing the size of their worlds. Ubisoft is definitely a culprit in this regard, especially with their Assassin's Creed series.
Speaking with Game Informer, Ashraf Ismail said that Assassin's Creed Origins is much bigger than Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, but followed by saying size doesn't matter."If I compare it to previous games in the past, I don't actually know the exact numbers [for Origins], but I would say that it's at least twice the size of Havana from Black Flag, at least.Considering an earlier interview with Ismail on Side quests being more impactful, this could mean good things for Ubisoft's latest entry.
Having said that, I don't think of the size of the city is what matters. It's really the content, the experience that you have inside of it. It's how alive it is. So we filled these locations with quests, with making each city feel unique to itself, why was it important to Egypt."

Game Informer actually talked to Ismail for quite a while, touching many aspects of the franchise as a whole. The entire interview can be found here in video format. In regards to Origins, however, here's a summary of what was discussed:
- The Origins map is "pretty much" open right away, but not until after the introductory sequence.
- There will be a lot of customization options, though Ismail would not confirm if you'll be able to give main character Bayek a beard.
- They want to keep the modern-day elements mostly a secret so players will be surprised. "I would rather have people be more surprised by the experience," he said. "If [the marketing department] want
me to talk about it I'll be more than happy to talk about it."
[*]Ismail teased about the modern-day storyline in Origins, "I think people will be happy."

Combat has seen a major overhaul in Assassins Creed Origins, compared to previous installments, and fan questions about its evolution were recently answered in a developer Q&A.
Game director Ashraf Ismail only responds to three, combat-themed questions in the Q&A, but the answers he provides are extensive. The first question leads to Ismail covering the games basic combat system layout, how it has evolved from previous games, and what it asks of the player. Past installments relied on a technically-paired animation system that locked in player and enemy combat animations, but Origins uses a hit-box system that instead prioritizes weapon design and player position to allow for more control over a fight.
The second question pertains to the games weapon variety. Ismail breaks down the huge selection of weapons available in the game, and explains how this variety is further enhanced by Origins stat-based, RPG-style progression system. Finally, Ismail is asked to touch on how enemies react to combat in the game. The director explains that enemy attack patterns are intended to be occasionally too much for the player, incentivizing the player to carefully manage attacks or take a step back and rework their strategy.

Ismail recently did an interview with AusGamers in which he talked more about the games setting and systems. During the discussion, the game director mentioned Origins Desert Overheat feature, which can deteriorate the health of players that wander the barren sands of Egypt for too long.
Assassins Creed Origins is slated to launch October 27th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
