Assassins Creed: Rogue

I just saw a walkthrough for the first two hours of this game and it kinda looks like more of the same, without anything really new or breakthrough like Unity. But it's more AC, so I can't say I would skip it.

It also seems like this is supposed to be a prequel ACIII, but also after ACIV.

Well, that's kind of what they promised, so that sounds alright.

But I'll wait for the Xbox One version.

Rogue apparently has more present parts than Unity.. And that makes me want to stay away from it.

Does Ubisoft know where they want to go with the present day story?

I've had the feeling since ACIII, that they weren't entirely sure what they wanted to do. I think they've created the possibility for an interesting setup at the end of ACIII...but they've done nothing with it.

I'd say they're still trying to figure out what to do with the present day storyline before committing to anything. Which...is kind of nuts, when you consider that we're already three games in post-ACIII.

I've only played a little bit of the modern day stuff so far on Rogue, I can guarantee you it's far less than there was in Black Flag, and that was pretty bloody minimal.

Honestly they should've kept Desmond alive and made him the protagonist of Watch Dogs and changed all the Blume stuff to Abstergo.

The modern day stuff in Black Flag and Rogue is just fun easter eggs.

I Don't know. Watch dogs has more in common with Splinter cell seeing the latter(Splinter cell) is linked to The NSA and the former game Watch dogs deal hacker styled cyber crime etc, to get pay back on others that cause problem for the protagonist in the former being talked about here is their turf / Jurisdiction too.

The only thing that's about the same with watch dogs and Assassin's creed is that they had parkour to a degree. but not fully to the same level. I think if there was ever a cross over it would be with sam fisher coming to recruit a hacker from the world watch dogs since it happens in real life the the NSA ad he woudn't sticking to the people that caused trouble i watch dog's in the first place. the assassin's dev's screwed up due to lack of sudden interest. They should have just finished the story ad stopped there.

I'm glad it's smaller than BF but I would never call the present day fun Easter Eggs. It's like the random battles every three steps in old FF games were I just roll my eyes and want to stop playing.

Look at it this way, the elevator is broken. You're only on the animus level this time. There's like 6 or 7 computers to hack and that's about it.

Y'know, there is the Quasi War between the U.S. and France if they want to do a DLC featuring Shay vs Connor. They left a pretty big sequel hook with Shay still being alive and kicking, not to mention his claim of being an American Templar.

Or they could maybe have some fun and feature a teamup between the two against French Templars....or Assassins.

Are you sure about that with the whole Unity mess ? lol

Yup. Unity wasn't that messy for me.. At all. I had one or two slow down moments that litter every AC game but the game ran flawlessly for me.. Easily in my top two AC games (first still being Black Flag.)

I'm sure they have this game ready to be formatted for the new consoles.

But they don't want to cut into Unity sales. If they're smart, they'll release this a year from now, and take the time to make a game that isn't as half baked as Unity.

Console or PC ? On PC it is right now unplayable

Xbox One. I honestly don't think it's bad at all. I guess some people had some issues... Like my buddy was having legit problems.. But since the patch(es) he hasn't had a problem.

Really great game and like I said, IMHO one of the better AC games.

Keep in mind I couldn't stand Ezio.. Or his games, at all.

there's still alot of fix's they have to do sorry to hear that . but this is why it didn't do overly well ( amazing to out standing) in the review's.

It has potential but the issue's and bug's ruined it for a lot of people. when it's fixed I'm sure alot of people will enjoy it.

But they better rethink things before doing a double launch like this and hopefully this isn't trend that last's in the industry where they just do the "what ever other problem come about we'll fix it through patch after launch" when they should have caught most of them befor hand some of these are unavoidable. but this really needed more time /polish

I'm loving Rogue, and I'll gladly wait for the many bugs to iron out on Unity before I invest in next-gen.

Rogue is, to me, AC3 New 'n' Improved. It's everything that AC3 *should* have been. Loving the literary easter eggs, too, with references to [BLACKOUT]Sleepy Hollow and Last of the Mohicans.[/BLACKOUT]

I really dug this. It was a direct bridge from Black Flag, to III and Unity. The best part is, while I was playing Rogue, my copy of Unity has been sitting in my PS4 getting patched to high heaven. So I can continue on with the story seamlessly.
