No video game has really become a viable movie franchise yet IMO.
And no I'm not counting Resident Evil. I mean like a big franchise.
Lots in development. Fewer actually getting made.
Not surprised the film was put on hold again. Studio clearly can't commit to a project of this size which would require a huge budget when video game adaptations are still relatively unproven on film.
Fassbender is a busy dude that's in high demand with a lot on his plate. Can't wait around for Creed to get ready.
Its proven that a terrible movie is terrible. Video games are no different from comics or books. Take the idea and tell a good story set in the game's universe. Yet, for some bizarre reason studios are treating video games like studios used to treat comics. They want to give it very little serious effort and expect it to work. Or to go way off the rails and make the movie universe and characters nothing like the game. Studios know that you get out what you put into a project yet they keep fumbling video game adaptions like a bunch of concussed trolls.
I just dont understand why they cant see or realize that movies inspired by a game can be just as good as any other movie when done properly.
