Eh, it's not the first time a studio announces a sequel to an unreleased movie. It's good for business, or something like that.

They'll scrap it without even a second thought if this movie tanks.

Alternatively, they could wait a few years and then make another movie with a different lead actor but keeping the same director. Worked great for Hitman.

I hope its a good one for a change! I mean, there's so many video-games franchises that I wanted to have a critical acclaimed film or film series, such as Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, etc..

Hope this turns out good. Not a huge fan of the game, but I wouldnt mind seeing more VG adaptations so I hope this is good.

CinemaCon is for the theater outlets and other big wigs. All the major studios are out there schmoozing for partners and more money. They pull out all the stops for the industry people. It's like SDCC but for the rich folks, so they bring the good stuff.

I'm surprised they didn't with BvS honestly. Civil War, or X-Men Apocalypse I guess, otherwise they'll just drop it online during the week.
