I like both options, but I think posts should count in the Spam-Games forum. It would help keep the post ****es in there, so they don't infest other threads for their endless search for the biggest post count.

I'm talking about people like you, jag. :cmad:

Hahaha! If posts in the Spam-Games Forum don't count and Drak moves all those crappy threads in there, you'll have like 2,000 posts!

At any rate, all the rewards for posting like bigger avatars and such would also need some longevity in registration time as well under Drak's plan, so spamming isn't going to be nearly the beneficial pasttime that it has been.

I like both options, and since I have a lot of posts AND I've been here since the begining (minus a month), so I doubt I'd be affected, but what happens (if these changes takes place) to a new poster (let's say, registered 6 weeks ago) who has 15 000 posts in that short period of time? Would his/her profile be changed due to the lack of time being here?

Personally, I hope so.

If you have a SHH account, then yes.

No, I meant will this change my post count or get me banned... or something...

P.S. You're on my aim buddy list... ?!?

2--User Join Dates will actually contribute to earning an avatar and such, in addition to post count. This way, if you're banned under your regular name, you won't be able to go back to an old name and still have avatars and such. By doing this, I hope it makes a lot of the people who like to "sit on the fence" when it comes to getting in trouble think twice, because they'd lose everything, and it'd be harder to just spam them back. This will would very well with the above idea. To quote a good friend--"The idea behind those things is that they are "privileges" or "rewards" that are meant to be earned by being a contributing member of a community over a period of time." By combining length of membership and post count as prerequisites for benefits, only members who are both active and patient would be rewarded and there would be less benefit from spamming. Also, bans would become a lot more meaningful when you not only lose a few nights worth of spamming, but you can also lose up to 6 months of your life.

Something like this order--

Code:
Signature--1 Week
Custom Title--2 Weeks and 100 posts
Small Avatar--1 Month and 300 posts
Medium Avatar--3 Month and 1000 posts
Large Avatar--6 Months and 2500 posts
i like this
btw, small avatar means 50x50, medium avatar means 75x75 and large avatar means 100x100? are those post counts official? because they seem a whole lot lower than it is now. right now you'd need 3k posts just to get a 75x75 avvy.

1--Set up a "Game/Trivia thread" for stuff like "Last thing you ate/drank/wore on your head" or "Three Word Story" that's separate from actual community. Posts in this forum will NOT count towards your post count. This will eliminate all these kind of threads for community so that we can get back to discussing "you know, the important stuff". And by, discuss, I mean pages. Not, at most, 3 posts. There are people who have at least 40-75% of their one-word posts in spammy threads like "Last thing you ate/drank/peed/pooped/wore on your head", or something similar just because they want an avatar/sig/title. I'm all for chat-chat til you're hands fall off. Hell, if you look in Games, I'm in the top 10 in terms of chat thread posters. But there's a difference between chat and crap.

ok let me see if i understood correctly: once the Game/ Trivia forum is established and the affected threads moved from Community a member's post count can actually be lessened depending on how many posts he now has under the new forum?

Is it possible to get an avvy larger than 100x100, or is this the largest?

I am?

No, you won't be banned, but it could probably affect your post count. It's not official or anything, and if we went with it, we might move some of the spammy threads already made into there, so if you have posts in there and post count doesn't raise there, then yes, you'd lose posts.

Yes, it would.

On vB boards they can theoretically be as big as you want to make them, but it slows down loading if everyone has 200x200 avatars.

Wait I thought I understood it, now its becoming a migraine. :( I feel like a child lost at a Sam's Club.

drak. sounds good enough to me...get the crap out of the way. garbage lounge should rly go there too, tho, cuz i happen to hate that thread (and everyone who's ever posted there.) :O on the other hand, i also really dont care about anything/

I hate the thought of "YOU CANT HAVE A GOOD AVATAR UNTIL YOU ARE AROUND FOR A LONG TIME".

You could always ya know, try to eliminate how every thread seems to go offtopic.

...Garner 1500 more posts, and then you'll understand...

I think option 2 sounds fair, what sucks is that I now have to actually think of something meaningful before I post. :( ;)

*devastated/heart broken......:(:(:(*

If anything, I'd go with Option 2.
I don't see why people are so obsessed with post counts anyway.

I like that option better than anything else, but I can't be to picky.
I've accepted that my opinion means nothing on this forum, so I voted with what choices were available.

HOWEVER, I would prefer it if that was the case.

Seems like good changes to me. I don't really mind the spa-I mean game threads, and with those new rules I could get my large avvy.

That's why I set up the poll the way I did. So both sides can be heard.

I love the second idea.

First idea I support but its a warm support. I'll admit that I do post in those threads, but I also post in actual conversation threads aswell. So I could still post in them but won't get credit on my post count, which is alright by me.

Hey! The lounge isn't a garbage thread or a spam thread, at least not for most of us. Not everyone goes in there and says stupid crap just to get a post count. The lounge is a way for us to get to know each other without cluttering up other threads and getting them off track. Closing or moving the lounge would have an immediate effect -- folks are just going to clutter up other threads instead and there will be even more complaining.

how about Option 3? You make it so that good posters, who have no history of trolling whatsoever, who even lurk more than they post, who have been around since almost day 1, don't get banned and lose everything, for something they didn't even do.
