Oh people were never nice to me... for a long time...

That was one of the factors of me leaving...

Wait... how long was I gone?

Nobody cared enough to notice.

If you make these changes, Drakon, would it affect the Coming Soon forum as well, or just this one?

Just here. I'm not an admin there.

Drakon, I don't like your new avvy... :(

*please don't ban me*

I think you guys would know me better than that.

Only the SHH! forums. Drak has no power at CS!

Squeek is a girl. :)

I was never not treated nice on Hype, maybe that has something to do with me becoming part of the TB. ;)

But I was never treated cruelly, nor dissed on because of my post count, for the most part. :) Please try to be nice, we've hardly just come back from exile and already we're at each others throats. :)

Maybe she needs to have time to earn respect but I think you've put her through enough fire for one night.

Let's stay on topic. :)
Thanks, Twy, but I do have to wonder, how much time = respect? I am really not trying to argue but, I mean, I have been here a YEAR and cried and pissed and moaned and laughed my way through the whole X3 making of and coming out process. I feel like I've earned the right to not be NEW anymore. :)

Depends on the forum, I honestly think.

You may have earned the respect in the X3 forums... and you may talk to the same people there you do in community...

But I've noticed that some people act way different in other forums than they do here in community. I'm guilty of the same.

I changed my mind. I hope you realize (SMods and Admins) that the fact you have restrictions based on your post count makes more people want to spam stupid posts just to get to the "I can have the biggest avatar" part.

Not like anyone will actually see this post. Cause ya know, I don't have an avatar, and I'm sub 1k posts. Obviously if those two are combined, you're insignificant on these forums.

I wouldn't know. :)

I don't really consider myself in the 'respected' catagory. I'm 'accepted' meaning I don't get slammed on because of my post count, or join date.

However I don't see myself ranked with Daisy, TruthTeller or Superman as a respected member. It mostly comes with intelligent answers and knowledge.

How does this make sense if I see a post before I see a posters name and post count, because my eyes read the middle first and not the left than to the middle?

That is very true. I was never outright attacked by so many people for no obvious reason until I ventured out into communities. I just don't see why to get respect someone has to be mean to someone else. It's just not in my nature to be this way and I don't measure respect by someone's ability to put someone else down. I respect folks who have something earnestly to say who says it in such a way that real dialog can happen. I'm not into big essays or anything but some folks here can really present good and logical arguments for their various positions without being rude or attacking anyone, I have seen both older and newer posters do this. Respect should be given to everyone equally regardless of age or post count, but if anything, it should be measured by the quailty of one's posts.

I went to edit that originally, but I seriously don't even remember writing but twice...

There's no real time limit. Hate to say, but you just gotta wait til it happens

That's why the join date means more in my proposed idea.

Not to me. ;) Your say counts just as much as mine, I say.

If I quote it you'll be noticed. ;)

No, seriously, don't down yourself. All the opnions matter, especially if Drak is reading this. It might not seem like the higher ups notice and they might not but I know that Drak notices and he'll make sure all concerns get to the higer ups. :)

THAT is very true. I tend to feel more respected in the Comic Forums than I do here. Also I never notice post count when I'm there.

Squeek, I think basically if you see a good thoughtful post in some of the forums no one looks at the join date or the post count of the induvidual. They look at the content. Here in the community though if a person sees even one stupid post they'll look for post count and join date and then form an opinion towards the person. In many cases, and because we've had so many of them the past few years, the newer the join date the more the posts, that person is pegged as a 'spammer' no matter wherelse they've posted. Most people in the community don't look at the other forums of Hype to see where the person has been posting.

Also in my opinion I'm still 'new' and for the posters from 2000-2002 I AM still new. To a certain extent that will never go away. You'll always be the 'new' kid. Believe me I know. ;)

You just have to find the niche where it doesn't feel like it matters and then not care what anyone else says.

Seriously dude... have you seen the threads here? If you spent a little more time here, you'd be a lot more mad at the world too..
