SHH has become stupid with designating sections for stuff. It used to be that if a superhero had a TV show, that show had it's own section in the TV boards. Now, it's pretty much anything goes. This has 2 threads, Avengers has 2 threads, Smallville used to have its own board here but now it's under Superman. The mods are pretty clueless about how to organize it and they don't seem to care.

I thought Smallville was moved to the Superman section due to it ending. If we want to get technical then yes this should be only be in the Misc. TV Series but I post here because this is the most active more interesting things are talked about here.

Regardless, this thread seems to be the more lively of the two and moving it would probably do more harm than good. Let's just leave it where it is.

The anime/non-anime debate is kind of dated. Let's all just agree that this show is awesome either way ok?

So what's everyone's big complaints about the show?

Two of them that I've come across is that it doesn't pander with enough fan-service toward the original (some want it be near carbon-copy of the original). To me, a new viewer, doing that would just drag the show down. I think they need to move on and accept new things.

The other complaint is that the plot of the show is rushed. This also might be in comparison to original. But I like a lack of filler in my shows as well as the fast pace.

I don't think it would drag the series down but I like it that the creators, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, really moved things on with this new series.

Even in this series some people have considered some episodes as mostly filler! Personally I think that that is ludicrous and I like the pacing a lot; it's just right, moving the story along and giving viewers those moments and side stories to develop the characters' personalities.

One thing I'd like to see is a few more scenes with Korra learning air bending and getting in touch with her spiritual side dotted around; this season is meant to be the book of Air after all.

I'd say the character design for me, at least with the guys. a little TOO 'anime' for my taste, not a huge anime fan. The original show, while it did have anime influences, didn't go overboard with it and was still undeniably an american made animated series.

I can relate to this. I've never been a huge anime fan either, and when I first saw animation for LOK I was a nervous that it would be too anime. However, after watching this show I feel like the change hasn't been too drastic. The atmosphere is still familiar enough to me and that's all I can ask for.

Well this episode certainly wasn't very subtle. So happy to see [BLACKOUT]bloodbending [/BLACKOUT]make a reappearance. And it really did seem like Korra was ready to [BLACKOUT]kill Tarlok at the end. [/BLACKOUT]

Since next weeks episode is entitled Out of the Past we might finally get to see Aang or learn what all those flashbacks mean.

Awesome episode. I love how the tone is so much different than the last series. You knew most of the time, Aang et al were going to get out of it. With Korra, things just get worse. I definitely think Tarrlok is Amon. The guy in that flashback also looked like Tarrlok.

I'm thinking next week Korra ends up in some remote location like a mountain or desert, finally enters the Spirit World, and then Airbends/flys back to Republic City.

If that's the case than that means Tarrlok was able to slip away from Tenzin and everybody else when Korra went to face Amon at midnight.

True. Then he's working with Amon or he had a someone stand in for him that night. I think we'll find out soon.

Something that bothered me about this episode is how easily Tarrlok seems to sway the council members. Have any of them even said a word yet cause it doesn't seem so, must be a reason why they seem to be like his puppets.

That was an incredibly intense episode. Either Tarrlok has some blood feud with Amon or they're one in the same.

Each of their methods is strengthening the other by being complete extremes of opposite ends. Tarrlok just inadvertently helped Korra though. She needed some alone time and this will be the perfect opportunity for her to tap into the spirititual side of things.

Wow...just...wow. I thought the last episode raised the bar, but my goodness I have to see this again! They CANNOT go on another hiatus after this (I bet they will though). I don't think Tarrlok is Amon or even working for him (entrapping all of Amon's possible allies puts him in the clear, and Tarrlok was PISSED when Korra compared him to Amon). Tarrlok is just the extreme on the opposite end, and is probably thinking that things will go back to normal after his end game (besides, if he was Amon WHAT could his endgoal possibly be playing both sides of the field? Controlling the city? Random chaos?). The waterbending councilman is playing exactly into what Amon wants to escalate, and making his statements about benders seem all the more truthful; while also making the Equalist cause justifiable.

Also...what about poor Naga? She was left outside in the cold...

Amazing episode. A bit of the humor in the beginning made me cringe a bit (Iki's demon face and Meelo's farting), but overall this episode was fantastic.

I've never hated Tarrlok more than I do now. I can't believe what he did at the end. I was like WHAAAAT?! haha. It was great.

I loved Tarrlok's reaction when Korra compared him to Amon. Not quite sure what it means though. Do you think he reacted because he thought "She knows I'm Amon" or because "How dare she compare me to that criminal?" ? And his line "There are lots of things you don't know about me" was chilling.

The next episode is going to be crazy. Things are already crazy on this show. The leaner pace really helps build things up and conducts a quicker emotional response, I find. I would say LOK is on par with the quality of TLA. Maybe even better due to its mature themes and more political atmosphere. One thing's for sure, the Avatar series has made a grand comeback with an outstanding quality return.

Yeah, that's annoying. They just raise their hands. The council seems way too small. Why do the Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom only have 1 representative? Each of their populations have to outnumber the Northern and Southern Water Tribes combined.

I though this council group only represents Republic City not the entire land. If that is the case I understand one from each side but it proves Amon's point when they are all benders. No one to represent the interest of Non-benders.

No it wasn't.

That was Yakone. The waterbender that was giving Aang problems.

But that confrontation with Yakone was 42 years ago. How old is Tarrlok? Late 30's I presume. He would be a lot older now if he was Yakone.

I know people are saying this episode (kind of) confirms Tarrlok isn't Amon, but that can't be made for certain until we fully understand what Amon's grand scheme is. For all we know, Tarrlok could be pulling a Palpatine; playing both sides to achieve one goal. I can't see the creators not being fans of Star Wars and influenced by Palpatine/Darth Sidious in some way. He was my favorite character in the prequels.

Also, did you guys notice Tarrlok's reflection in the waterfall? His hair and face was blurred to look like Amon. Not to mention when he reached over to grab Korra, it was the same hand reaching and camera angle that they use for Amon when he's about to take away someone's bending. This was purposely done.

I stand corrected. I also found something interesting when I looked up Yakone:

Yakone is a phrase meaning "blood in the snow" in an Inuit dialect.
