I've been thinking that Amon's ability must be directly linked to Aang. I also saw through his broadcasted terrorist threat right away, but I did not realize he would make such an obvious and grand attack. I thought he was trying to divert all police presence away from their regular posts, as they guard the games, so he can infiltrate an otherwise well guarded area of the city.

She has to be able to Earthbend its like saying someone can run but they can't walk. Anytime she extended or retracted the ropes she was bending, however its unclear if she really knew how to physically whip them around or whether it was all metalbending that caused their movements. Either way one has to be pretty skilled to do that.

I think the question isn't so much whether she CAN Earthbend but whether she DOES Earthbend (i.e. will we, the audience, see Chief Beifong or the other Metalbenders use regular Earthbending in combat). In other words, will the creators remember that the Metalbenders can bend more than just metal.

From a stylistic point, classic Earthbending and the current form of Metalbending are very, very different. Where the former is all about being solid, grounded with firm stances and simple, forceful and direct motions (essentially, Hung Gar (yes, that's one of the guys from Kung Fu Hustle)), the latter is much more acrobatic with lots of flashy, whipping motions (more in line with Parkour and Spider-Man than anything). As such, Metalbending might have more in common with Sandbending than normal Earthbending.

But the opportunity hasn't presented itself. They were fighting on a glass roof.

I wonder what Amon would have done if the Fire Ferrets had actually won the match. Assuming he immobilizes them, would he have let Korra go again? It probably would have been a good opportunity to take the brothers' bending, if only for another psychological advantage over the Avatar.

On a lighter note, I present you with this thought:

Batmako vs Spiderlin

Maybe he was the one who actually bribed the ref so that the Wolf Bats won; ensuring that he wouldn't find himself in that dilemma? :cwink:

I assumed he (or his minions) was the one who paid off the referees.

Yeah, I actually thought of that, but the way the Wolfbats were so prepared for the help, I assumed it had to be someone they knew who bribed the ref. Of course whoever did it could have been working for Amon, unbeknownst to Tahno and his guys.

Even if Amon was behind the fix, which would have been a brilliant move, he probably had to have had a back-up plan in case the Wolfbats totally goofed it up.

I eagerly await a Swimsuit dedicated episode like The Beach.

Continued from last thread:

Yeah, the action is still top notch. I just haven't seen much in the way of choreography this season.
It's mostly been the powershouses punching and throwing things.
Don't get me wrong, I've seen some exellent fights on Young Justice. Just not much this season.
I couldn't think of a fight from YJ(Invasion) that matches the fight on top of the Pro Bending Arena.
Korra's got a head start in episodes aired though. I'm confident we'll be getting more from YJ pretty soon.
Like I said sometimes.
I know that we can agree that these are both very well done shows.

*edit*
I did quote another post from you and just pasted your earlier response just to make sure you remembered what I was repsponding to.

That we can definitely agree on, my friend! I see your point though, that fight on top of the arena really took my breath away, it had me raising my hands in the air clapping for them. I've never had that feeling watching a fight in YJ, but I've been amazed by some of the fight scenes.

 The next eps should be great!
Oh wait. We're doing it wrong.:o
Err- I mean, I'm mad!!! We must argue over the internet!!!:cmad:

WHo would you guys and girls cast as a live action Korra? My pick would be Elizabeth Gillies.

If we go by past casting trends it would be Hailee Steinfeld or Shailene Woodley. Chloe Moretz if you wanna go for a reach.

I would go with Hailee. She's a really great actress to boot, as seen in True Grit. She can play headstrong and tough, but, from interviews that I've seen her in, she's also very nice and pleasant. And she's part Filipino, if that helps.

One of those actresses is actually part Asian--Filipino, which I am.

My children, who are half Filipino and half Irish-German are darker than me (although I am naturally light-skinned), because they spend a lot of time under the sun (I'm an office guy). I have a feeling that some time under the sun or a tanning lamp will bring out the natural olive tones Hailee's skin should be capable of, to match Korra's skin tone.

Someone with a serious tan or an ability to get one and a trained body like Jessica Biel.

I would only watch a live action adaptation if the creators of this show write and direct and cast the actual movie. I do not want another M. Night debacle. Yuck.

I like that tree of the characters from past and present. Cool stuff.
