I called this a while back. I knew Asami's dad was involved with the equalists.

Asami is still a suspect in my book and it has nothing to do with some shipping nonsense. Amon wants her inside as close as possible and now he has someone literally living with the Avatar to feed him information.

It's still possible, but I really hope Asami isn't ultimately working with the equalists. It just seems too obvious and I think it looks bad portraying all non-benders as antagonists.

Cabbagecorp!!! Lol! Freakin hilarious!

MORE TENZIN!

Anyone notice that the Firebenders find some way of getting around when it comes to murder? All of the casualties that "bending has caused" for characters all come from the hands of a Firebender...I guess they were really bitter after the war?

I was suprised that Mr. Sato framed the Cabbage Corp. I thought that Korra overhearring his conversation would have been a business related misunderstanding and overreaction on Korra's part. However, despite all this, it would have made sense for the Cabbage Corp to be helping the Equalists with all the abuse that the original merchant had to go through.

Anyone think Lin killed that Equalist mech pilot ? We never see the dude leave the mech after Lin hopped off of it.

After she went all "Wolverine" on it? Oh yeah, I'm sure she murdered his ass lol.

That's awesome, never thought I'd see Mechs on Avatar.

I disagree. Live-action adaptions of animated properties almost never seem to be able to capture the same tone and/or feel of the source material.

Part of the appeal of the series is its animation. You lose that with live action. Bending would look dumb in live-action because you couldn't make it look as fluid as it does animated. They'd have to cram an entire season into 2 hours, as well. There's simply no benefit to having a live-action adaptation of the series, especially when the first was abysmal. TV/direct-to-video movies are all they should do as was the case with the DCAU. Mask of the Phantasm was released in theaters, but it's the best Batman movie. SubZero was good and Return of the Joker was awesome.

^^^ This! People seem to think that live action is the pinnacle of cinematic acheivement. I tend to disagree. he craft involved in creating a fine animated tale fully realized in film is an amazing and beautiful thing. The first Avatar series was such and acheivement. It was so wonderfully conceived, well animated and sublime in it's simplicity. Good animated storytelling is an artform wholly separate from live-action.

I recommend anyone who loves the animated genre check out a film called Secret of the Kells. It is a prime example of the animation and art itself being a character and something that no live-action adaption can acheive.

I have high hope for LoK and have so far not been disappointed.

Having Asami do something like doing sneaky underhanded things for the Amon and the Equalists behind everyone's back would be so typical. Not saying it won't happen, just that I think the creators know better than than to do something that obvious.

I will be kind of disappointed if they do go that route, though.

On a different topic, did anyone think Mr. Sato's underground elevator looked a lot like the one in Akira?

I feel bad for Korra. Her and her friends are having to fight elite ninja assassins and Hulk-Busters, while the Gaang was basically fighting storm troopers for a majority of the series.

The Cabbage man and his lineage seemed doom to always get in the crossfire. I hope the writers somehow work them back in and have "I'm innocent" by the new "My cabbages".

When Tenzin started fighting I wanted to just see him own but nope that didn't happen.

I also wondered why didn't Lin and her police started using the earth beneath them to their advantage. Their metal was proving ineffective so they should've just started ripping the floor apart.

Safe to say Lin probably doesn't hold back.

Yeah, Tenzin... eh. He's not the fighter I expected. Not bad per se, but he doesn't steal the show. Then again, the fighting conditions were hardly ideal for his power.

Still not convinced the Sato daughter is good. Might all be a big ploy. Here she's shown to be a very competent driver, yet she ran down Mako accidentally?

Didn't realize this till now but a lot of the major protagonists so far in this series have had tragic/painful experiences with firebenders. Aang, Sokka, Katara, Zuko. Now in this series its Mako, Bolin, Asami. Amon remains to be seen since I'm still skeptical about his story. I would've like them to show that there are good and bad people on all sides.

I loved the animation in this episode. You could see the anguish and the disgust Hiroshi Sato had on his face when he talked about Mako.

In her defense, Mako was totally jaywalking and came out of nowhere from behind a truck. Asami immediately reacted and tried to stop as best she could.

Perhaps. I'd say it could go either way. But they did make a point of showing she's an excellent driver.

The more the show progresses, the more viable and frightening the Equalists seem.

These aren't soldiers fighting for a nation's interest. These are the disgruntled and the angry. So many of them seem to have a deep personal stake in this Revolution and with a captain of industry like Hiroshi Sato among their numbers, its clear that this sentiment is not exclusive to the lower class.

I dunno, I think Amon is already better than Fire Lord Ozai in terms of character and his approach. Ozai was power-hungry. Amon is...I dunno. A Dark Prophet or something.

Ozai wasn't really characterized much in the first season. Actually he was never characterized much period, beyond being evil. He was a rather shallow character, really. But he was certainly menacing. More menacing than Amon.

The Avatar series does make it a point to show that good and bad isn't synonymous to a single race or nation. General Fong, Long Feng and the Earth Kingdom troops from the episode 'Zuko Alone' illustrates this.

There seems to be quite a focus on Waterbending bad guys/antagonists in LoK as shown by Tahno and Tarrlok and that waterbending Triple Threat Triad member. It might be confirmed yet but I'm hearing that this Yakone we've been hearing so much about is a Waterbender or a person of Water Tribe descent.

Its maybe just a statistical thing. Republic City used to be the oldest Fire Nation Colony Yu Dao. So maybe a notable population of them are of Fire Nation ancestry, meaning more Firebenders.

That...remains to be seen. Amon may not have Sozin's Comet as a Wild Card but I wouldn't count out his Endgame just yet.

True. But it'll be hard to top the Avatar equivalent of Hitler. To be fair to Amon, he doesn't get an entire race of firebenders to lead.

I know this but I specifically stated that the major protagonists of the series seem to be most effected by the Firebenders. This was probably just by design in the first series considering they were the main bad with the genocide and all that.

To me Azula was always the most interesting and threatening antagonist in this universe, for obvious reasons such as far greater screen time. But I argue this was done on purpose since Aang and them couldn't really face Ozai until the end or it would dilute its impact. So they made the great choice of hiding his face until season 3 making him seem like an ominous and mysterious presence. In the meantime they gave us Azula to always have a serious threat in the show. So to me Ozai was the big bad boss but Azula was the ever present character that filled the quota.

The thing about Amon is that I don't completely trust his whole everybody needs to be equal I believe he has some hidden motives. So with this mystery its hard to judge his character. But I love how you could still feel his influence in this latest episode when he wasn't even in it.

I loved the scene where Mako and Bolin immobilized the Metalbender. I hope when they do actually fight, they sync with each other in ways like that, as opposed to just randomly throwing fire and rocks.
