Avatar: The Legend Of Korra - Part 4

The soundtrack is pretty good.

And it introduced the show to a wider audience. My cousin had once told me about the original show but I dismissed as a kid's show. But after watching the movie, I thought it was terrible but the whole concept was pretty cool, and that's how I got into the show like many others. Not to mention but every kept talking about how better the show was than the movie.

It's a shame though, I think this could have been the next Harry Potter. The HP series ended in 2011 and The Hunger Games wouldn't come out for two years.

Well this season seems to be flying by. (Says that guy that binge watched the first 9 episodes in two days... ) Still, the story is crashing to a finale really fast to me. I mean, what's left now but to have a big battle with the [BLACKOUT]Red Lotus[/BLACKOUT] and call it a day. This season has been solid for sure, especially in the animation dept. And mostly the writing for the characters has been very good. Bolin is the most fun character on the show and I liked the way they built up the Earth Queen so [BLACKOUT]when the Red Lotus took her out you were'nt shedding any tears for sure[/BLACKOUT]. However I don't think any character, especially Korra, has gone through any thing approaching an arc really. The story has been very straight forward. Simplistic even. That's not a knock, just an observation. I've been very entertained with all the episodes. I still want to know what the [BLACKOUT]Red Lotus[/BLACKOUT] end game is. I hope they don't do away with them. There's lots to be mined there I think.

To quote Zaheer; "Let go of your earthly tether, enter the void, empty & become wind." - Guru Laghima.

The 2nd last episode is called Enter the Void. Any thoughts on what this might imply??

Well... in some versions of the classic groupings of elements by the ancients of various cultures the list of elements were, Earth, Fire, Water, Air and finally... THE VOID. Hmmm... :shr:

Yep. Void is usually seen as element so I'm curious to how this season will end.

Wait, what? The Void is actually considered another element? Forgive my ignorance but I never knew this lol. What exactly IS the void? What does it do?

I wonder if Zaheer uses Korra to create another bending element the Avatarverse has yet to see exist?

Crazy! What does this mean for Zaheer if the connection is warranted? I mean, maybe he's going to take something from Korra that would allow himself to become some sort of spirit bender? I have no idea but this is getting crazy interesting!

Will Zaheer become a Spirit Bender?

Will there be a new element?

Is void the new element?

Find out next time on Dragonball Z!

There's a tumblr blog called ZaheerForThePeoole and this person is the one who leaked episode 10, "Long Live the Queen".

Interestingly enough, this tumblr person has just posted a quote which seems to be from episode 12, "Enter the Void".

/// "I was once asked what it means to enter the void. I will tell you. An airbender may meditate for a hundred years trying to detach herself from the world, but she cannot do it. Humans cherish human life, and by that they are bound to this world. The only way to abandon the world is to abandon one’s humanity. New growth cannot exist without first the destruction of the old. The void is found in the sowing of death. From that death springs life on the wind."
-Guru Laghima ///

So the quote is either from the Guru himself or it's Zaheer quoting the Guru.
(I would love Zaheer to somehow use Korra to resurrect the Guru, he kills Zaheer, then we have our big baddie for Book 4. We've not had a Guru villain before!).

Any indication on what this quote actually means though?

If it's from that episode, I'd black it out or tag it.

Yes, I just made a mistake but I fixed it in edit, thanks!

A guru villain could be cool for book 4, but don't we kind of already have that with Zaheer? He's not a straight up guru like the Indian guy who taught Aang about the avatar state, but he seems to a spiritual master/ scholar, a nomad/monk type who believes his cause is just. I want an earth bending villain. We've had fire for all three books of last airbender, water for two seasons or Korra, and now air. We've had earth bending bad guys, but there's never been a big bad who could earth bend, they always wind up getting taken out by the actual big bad lol

Suyin. I think she's Red Lotus. There have been subtle hints of this in the season. She mentioned she dislikes the Earth Queen and that her rule is not of the times. Also, her metal city Zaofu look like giant Lotus's as they open PLUS when she was instructing her guards to dance they were dancing and metal bending a giant Lotus! She also had what looked like a Lotus lamp in the background of one of the scenes. She did help save Korra when Zaheer tried to capture her but maybe they don't even know she was a part of the Order. I'm almost thinking her band of trouble making friends she had as a teenager are in fact the baddies we have this season all grown up.

We haven't had a female main antagonist yet either. Could be her!

Loved the new episode today. Lots of intensity. Tenzin kicked ass....just wish it didn't end when it did because I wanted more!

Next week is the season finale with episodes 12 and 13 premiering together. CANT WAIT.

INTENSE! That battle at the Air Temple was all sorts of great. Though Tenzin shouldn't have had Bumi stay and battle when he isn't the greatest air bender in the ranks. But I guess they had to have them lose. But it was great to see Tenzin basically own Zaheer until he was teamed up against.

I'm praying the battle in the finale is even bigger then this one.

Seeing Tenzin kick Zaheer's ass was so awesome, first time fighting a true air bending master, eh? :o

Can anyone see how Zaheer's current mission to take out world leaders is tied into his other mission to put an end to the white lotus?

Well, isn't the red lotus meant to act as the white lotus (who pretty much just protect the avatar now used to, inciting change when it's needed?

Now I haven't seen the original series in a while but I don't recall being worried for the fate of the main characters' lives, but man, I'm not sure if Tenzin will make it out alive.
