I use the simulator for high level guys because you can level them up in one or two goes. With PVP it would take more than the 5 first goes where you actually gain XP. That means it would take several days.

I only ever have low level heroes when I first recruit them, but they are usually up to level 9 within a day.

6 covers, 4 duplicates now. 100 opened.

And those velociraptor dinosaurs in the daily mission are annoying. One of them had over 12 goes in a row and took out my entire team. It was relentless. They should be nerfed in the number of goes it can take at one time.

Clever girls...

High Evolutionary has got to be the worst boss, just gives you EVERY debuff every round and always changes class.

Got another duplicate. 7 covers, 4 dupes now.

6 covers and 4 duplicates. Probably one of the few LB heroes that I may have to spend gold to get since there's only 60 more LBs to be rewarded and I'm likely going to have more than my fair share of duplicates in them.

As for PVP, I finally broke into Adamantium but it's taken a lot of fights to do so since defensive teams with Emma/Kurrth/agent's Luna-C has been a pain (as have Flash crashes, which cost me 4 losses that would have otherwise been guaranteed wins.)

Not too soon. I have only just nearly collected enough CPs to get Valkyrie. I'd like to still have some left over. Maybe in about a week or so.

I'll be glad when I've collected all the heroes needed for Season 2. Still quite a few to get. It would be nice to even be at a stage where I'm no longer farming for CPs.

Opened another 30 boxes today. I'm up to 7 covers, 6 duplicates now. 130 opened in all. It will take me another 70 boxes to be guaranteed Howard the Duck.

I'm not sure how long these lock boxes are going to be available in the daily missions.

After 130 LBs, I'm at 6 covers and 7 duplicates. I think there's only 50 more LBs to be rewarded so it's not looking good for me in getting Howard without spending gold.

Got Howard. Got 30 lockboxes today and got Howard on the first set of 10 i opened, so then opened the other 20 for more silver.

Pretty happy with myself, got Howard with no gold spent using just lockboxes the game rewarded.

Wish I could gift or trade my extra lockboxes to people who need them though, would rather do that than just get more silver.

I think it goes to January 11, so 55 more boxes from daily missions.

I'm in the same boat as you Dark Raven, i think. 7 covers, 6 duplicates. 1 duplicate since I got my seventh cover.

Anyway, I need more silver for training. Jessica and Boomerang are my only characters under level 13, but I have so many guys I need to go from 13 to 14.

Playing the daily mission. It's Gods only, and it says right there that Enchantress is one of them, but I still can't select her. I know they usually forget to include characters who should qualify, but her name is in the description. I don't know what's up there.

Still only got 6 covers for Howard. Not sure if I'll make it.

Only 55 more? Or are they going to give us another 20 next week for using 5 apple ciders in battle? Hopefully I'll get Howard the Duck before it's over.

I have tons of characters needing to go from level 12 to 13, and a few from 13 to 14 or 14 to 15.

The last CO LB task goes until the 11th so that means we got either 10 or 11 days left of daily LB tasks, which means between 50 and 55 LBs available.

Yes but each Thursday they also give us an extra 20 for completing a task like they did yesterday (or today if you're still in 2015) which means in total another 70 or 75 more not 50 or 55 more.

In the last patch notes, PD listed only 3 weekly LB tasks, with the final one lasting until January 11th. That means the final one is going to last for 11 days, instead of the normal 7.

Holiday Lockbox Event
Collect Duck-in-a-box Lockboxes to unlock Howard the Duck. All Daily Mission Quests will now give a 5 Lockbox reward during this event. There will be 3 Weekly Quests that will reward 20 lockboxes each. Howard’s Lockboxes cannot be opened until December 25th.

HOLIDAY QUEST CHAINS

Weekly Quest 1: Christmas Duck
December 17th - December 23rd - Use 5 Duck-tinis in Combat
Duck-tinis are found in combat in the Daily Missions

Weekly Quest 2: Holiday Special
December 24th - December 30th - Collect 5 Spiced Eggnog
Spiced Eggnog can be found by visiting friends

Weekly Quest 3: Happy New Year 2016
December 31st - January 11th - Use 5 Apple Cider in Combat
Apple Cider can be gifted by friends.

Ok well that's rather mean of them. They just want us to spend gold by not having enough LBs. Hopefully I'll be able to get him within the next 55.

I need some silver. I'm running low. Where am I going to get some other than flight decks and daily missions, and collecting from allies? We need a new group boss to fight. I have so many heroes to train.

General : Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2: General Tips & Tricks Guide

Posted Dec 30, 2015

Those of you who read last week’s column will know I’ve found myself a new obsession in the form of upcoming mobile RPG, Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2. In case you’ve managed to pick it up after reading our take we thought we’d put together a handy general tips & tricks guide to help you start out in the game.
Read more of Michael Bitton's Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2: General Tips & Tricks Guide.
SPEND GOLD WISELY
Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2 is surprisingly generous when it comes to providing you with avenues to acquire free gold, but it’s important to spend it wisely if you’re not keen to open up your wallet. You may be tempted to spend your free gold on Superior Power Cells (which are the only way to acquire new heroes), but don’t! Superior Power Cells can grant you a new hero, sure, but they can also grant you abilities for the characters you already have, reducing your chances at pulling a new hero.
Instead of burning all your free gold on Superior Power Cells, save it for Energy refreshes and Scouting mission refreshes. The currency used for Scouting missions recharges once a day and only provides a single ticket at a time. Purchasing the currency will give you three in one shot, making it a super efficient way to spend your 5 gold. Scouting Missions are crucial to hero progression and they’re also a decent means of gaining experience outside of chapter content.

SAVE UP TASK REWARDS
This one is a bit more simple and straightforward, but you don’t need to claim task rewards right away. I’ve found the best thing to do is to save them up for a situation where my energy is low and I’m close to leveling up (which refreshes your energy). These are great for pushing you over that final hump and letting you extend your play without having to even spend any gold on a refresh.

MAKE FRIENDS!
Filling up your friends list and teaming up with your friends’ heroes is a great way to keep the silver flowing into your coffers. Each fight requires you to team up with another player’s hero, but the silver reward is doubled if that player is your friend. You also receive silver rewards whenever a friend on your list teams up with one of your own heroes, so having an active friend list is a great way to generate silver. Here’s a pro tip for you: put your most powerful or rarest character into the leader (first slot) of your team. This is the character that will show up as available for a team up when other players are looking, so having a rare or powerful character your friends are familiar with is a great way to ensure they frequently pick your hero over their other options, maximizing your silver gains.

BUILD A BALANCED ROSTER
When starting out you’ll be given Hawkeye and a couple of free heroes to round out your starting line-up. From there, it’s important to fill out any holes in your roster to ensure your team is as diverse as possible. There are five different classes in the game, so the best thing to do is to focus on getting one of each to the best of your abilities. Obviously, Power Cell pulls are random, so there isn’t a whole lot you can do there, but one thing you can do is use the free Avenger pick you get for your seven day login reward to fill in any holes. You might be tempted to pick up Iron Man, because, well, he’s Iron Man, but it’s probably a better idea to pick up an Avenger for a class you don’t have yet. All of the free Avenger options are pretty good, so you can’t really go wrong here.

TEAM COMPOSITION MATTERS
Be mindful of the enemies you’ll be fighting in each battle. Class counters, while not as punishing as the original Avengers Alliance, are still important to minimize (or leverage to your advantage). Believe it or not, the game can get pretty tough, and giving your enemy free Class Advantage buffs definitely doesn’t help your chances of coming out the victor.
On the flip side, there are a ton of different synergies you can find in the game, so putting together a creative frontline that takes advantage of each hero’s skill set can be a huge boon. For example, free attack teams are pretty popular. Characters like Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Moon Knight, Star Lord, Captain Marvel, and so on, all work well to enable and take advantage of free attacks. Another emerging trend are ‘shock teams’, which use characters that deal shock damage to synergize well with Electro’s Static Shock debuff. There’s all sorts of stuff you can come up with when team building, so think outside the box, especially if you want to find success in PvP!

INFORMATION IS POWER
If you’re ever confused about something or just want more information, hold your finger on an element of the UI to get more information. You can do this on your enemies to find their exact stats, level, buffs, and debuffs. For boss fights, you can get a better idea for what sort of mechanics (if any) you can expect by reading his description or other traits. It can also be useful for other things, like finding out what certain attributes mean, or where you can find materials needed for research. It’s just a handy tool to have. I do wish the game had a chat, so players could ask each other for information, but maybe that will come later.
BONUS TIP: TAKE OUT A.I.M. BLASTERS WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE
These guys are definitely overtuned right now. If you run into these guys in an enemy wave, take them out immediately. I don’t care what your previous plan for the turn was or what other priority target is also in the wave, these guys will completely wipe your entire frontline if they get to use their sweeping blaster attack, don’t give them the chance.

Have to say the news doesn't have me that interested, just can't get into those types of games.

I think I'll give it a miss. I don't have time to play another game anyway.

7 covers, 7 duplicates now. 140 opened in all. I really hope I don't have to spend gold on Howard.

Got Howard with only 3 duplicates. He is the first lockbox special event hero I don't spend gold on. Blizzard and Hybrid I had to buy boxes, Doom and Kang I bought boxes to get them earlier, would have been free if I had wait.

I was holding, opening 10x every night or so (my little "system"), but on new year's eve, I couldn't resist and got really lucky.

well between farming and the sales... i've got all the empowered and augmented character isos.

Hmmm

Now i have nothing to do.
