7 covers and 9 duplicates. Even spent 20 gold on LBs and still got a duplicate. Guranteed to get him in 80 LBs but only have 40 LBs left to earn. Going to be cutting it close.

Cruel mathematics most likely. They did the numbers and found what amount of boxes to reward that offers the most chance of people buying gold, but also provides enough chance for people to not think the thing is rigged and that they could/can do it without.

Give 20 more boxes and profits would probably go down as far more people would get him for free.

Despite all that I will say Avengers Alliance is THE BEST game in this regard. every other game is pretty much 'if you want to win or have nice stuff you have to pay money, also you need to pay to actually play the game to buy energy' With Avengers Alliance you really can get just about everything via gameplay and in game currency you can farm and gift. For all it's faults it's a champion compared to everything else.

7 covers and 10 duplicates. Guaranteed to get him 70 but with only 30 LBs left, I'm not sure I'll get him without gold. Already spent 20 gold on him and holding onto more when I'd rather spend it on PVP items has been hard for me.

Someone on Playdom's forums said that 180 was the middle ground where 50% of people get the lockbox hero and 50% don't.

Also, It is a free to play game, but at the same time, Disney isn't running a charity and they have to find ways to make money to pay programmers, etc.

You're not actually spending money though if you're just using your gold reserves. You would just deplete that to get the remaining lock boxes unless you're really short on gold and LBs.

I picked up Howard today. 8 covers, 8 duplicates. 160 boxes opened in all. Just in time without having to spend any gold.

EDIT: Using Howard's level 2 in battle is hilarious. When he calls his "reinfarcements" (who are basically just a bunch of squirrels like Squirrel girl has), he pulls out an old-style telephone to call them.

Howard is pretty cool so far. I have him training up to level 6 now. His level 2 is a bit like Punisher, Fixer and Jessica Jones with their multiple functions. He also has quite a few quick actions meaning he gets extra turns. And some of his level 2 abilities allow your allies to counter-attack moves or to join in an attack.

I must try using him eventually with Rocket Raccoon in battle. Now if only they gave us another anthropomorphic animal to use, we could have three animals in a fight.

Still no Howard as I've now gotten 7 covers and 11 duplicates. Seems most LB heroes take me around 200 so this one may be no different.

I think we'll get one of them next week. The CO and PVP both end on Monday, i think so maybe Tuesday? They haven't shown any art work for the SO yet though.

You're right, they showed the pixels. They didn't show the big dialogue art work though.

Yeah the bonuses are just new team up bonuses they are making since new heroes are coming in.

nothing set in stone about what heroes are needed. Thundra is going to be a Worthy so she's not going to be needed for quite a while, at least not until season 2 ends.

After 190 LBs (25 of which were bought), I'm still at 7 covers but now with 12 duplicates. Think I'm 50 away from being guaranteed Howard but only 20 LBs left.
