10/10

Perfect comic book movie. Everything I wanted and more. Love that Red Skull.

I'm so invested in these characters. I cried a couple times.

I hope Red Skull comes back for A4 and acts as Thano's sidekick, kinda like Mephisto from Infinity Gauntlet

Okoye, possibly Shuri and M'Baku. Think that's all of em.

Wong as well. (At the very least we didn't get a shot of him dying.) The fates of Valkyrie, Miek and Korg are also up in the air (though I'm leaning more towards alive since I feel we would've at least gotten a mention of Val if she'd died).

I completely marked out in the movie theater for Red Skull. What an awesome little addition to the movie.

I believe Thanos is wrong in his convictions, because there is thing called morals and morality of which he has none, cause otherwise he would have also taken into account the thoughts of others not just his own. On who's basis that I am unsure... but I guess it may be collective between others not just an individual.

IMO it's simple. Thanos says that everything he has done to exterminate half populations was worth the sacrifice for those who survived.

That's his core belief. And what makes him believe he is stronger. He is willing to sacrifice.

9.5/10

Never seen a movie like this and I'm amazed at how much it payed off. Fantastic.

So I'm under the assumption that

the one variation that Strange saw of them winning was the same one we witnessed too? He knew Stark would survive and form a plan to undo everything and stop Thanos in A4...

Would've been perfect but it doesn't take anytime to breathe. And once again a weak Thor subplot imo

so unexpected. Well played Marvel in keeping that one hidden, loved Red Skull showing up. We now know he is available if they want him back again.

Stark has to hope for the best. There are over 14 million different ways that they screw it up.

Right now I have it at a 9.5 the performances and stakes were high. Thanos captured them all a bit too quickly but he had the power gem so it is understandable.

Cap still hasn't said "avengers assemble" also Dr.strange definitely has a trick up his sleeve

I think exactly this. The writers made a point of Strange saying he wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice Tony or Spidey to save the Time Stone.

And then he specifically does the opposite when Thanos is about to kill Tony. You could say it was just bad writing, but I doubt it. There are too many well-placed and specific clues to his behavior. And he knowingly tells Tony 'it was the only way' before biting the dust (hardy har)

Gamora sacrificed the info about the Soul Stone because she felt too much guilt about Nebula (masterful payoff of GotG2). Strange had no similar emotional motive to protect Tony except he foresaw his crucial role in the sole path to defeating Thanos.

The more I think about it, the more I love this movie.

Obviously the dusting will be undone in some fashion but it was silly and underwhelming how it was almost entirely only new characters and characters with known sequels getting dissolved and conspicuously none of the orignal Avengers.

The general audience won't notice the pattern. But it is pretty blatant.

This is the one way they win. Strange knew that and keeping Stark alive was important for that to happen.

It could still go wrong. Strange said he saw over 14 million scenarios and they only win in one. Which means in all of the other scenarios, Thanos still gets the stones and fulfills his destiny. So he knows that Stark is important to winning, but that's really all that he knows. He has no idea what happened on Wakanda. It's a huge bet, with 14 million busts.

This movie. THIS MOVIE. Marvel, I am absolutely blown the hell away right now. WOW.

Let's see ... What are the common complaints that lots of people have regarding Marvel movies?:

1. Poorly written bad guys
2. Too many jokes
3. Not "dark" or "adult" enough

Infinity War addresses those complaints and relentlessly does so. Thanos is easily one of the BEST villains ever put in a comic book/superhero movie, for starters. And while there are jokes, none of them feel forced nor do they detract from the tone of the film (which is shockingly dark for a Marvel movie; this movie is more for adults than it is for kids).

Ten years. Ten years ago, we got the first Iron Man, with the promise of an Avengers movie (which seemed like a pipe dream at the time). Then, when we all loved the Avengers movie, we were promised Thanos and The Infinity Gauntlet storyline. For six years, Marvel has been hyping up this bad guy to us ... And by Odin's Beard, Thanos has lived up to that hype. And we have an entire movie to go! One year is far too long to wait to see what happens next!

BRAVO, MARVEL.

Also, Spidey's death made me an emotional wreck. What a messed up moment. Broke my damn heart. I was not AT ALL ready for that.

The balance of jokes was definitely better here. More than that though, even with the humor that was there, the characters were able to have their own voice and different types of humor on display. Age of Ultron featured everyone just kind of flattening out to a general Whedon voice and some of the other movies just have pale attempts at it.

Dr. Strange was able to an overly-poetic straight-man, much like early Thor rather than dropping half assed Lady Gaga references. He's a character that greatly benefited from having the other characters around.

Did Marvel put themselves in a lose/lose situation with the ending of the movie?

Keep them all dead (which they won't) and people will be mad or undo the snap and people will say IW was for nothing! I'm not really part of either line of thinking because I feel like whatever the Russo Brothers have in store for us in A4 will be a cohesive explanation.

Wow. This Marvel at 11. The movie was full of surprises. And was a ballsy movie to make. Didn't think Marvel/Disney had it in them.

The Red Skull! Holy cow! An amazing moment. Can't believe this is happening. What a time to be a Marvel Fan.

A 9.5 for me for sure.

The Peter/Gamora scenes...they blew my mind. Like they're were just kinda ok in GoTG I/II but now its like damn...feels...

"Ah the Boy Friend"

"I prefer to think of my self as the titan killing long term friend with benefits"

"I like him"

So much for the eye-patch...gunna miss it.

The quip/joke ratio to gut punch scenes was in balance.

Top Five Characters:
1. Thanos
2. Doc Strange
3. THor
4. Gamora
5. Tie: Spidey/Star Lord/Cap

Awesome f-ing movie!

Best Avengers films hands down! Totally did not expect Red Skull to show up so that was very cool to see. Glad to see there were big deaths in this movie but we all know it will be undone in the next film. Just sucks there was no Ant-Man or Hawkeye

Everything on the Soul Stone planet might be among my favorite thing in this entire mega franchise. Even beyond the character dynamics at play, the art direction was just incredible.
