If anything, I feel like the reason why the original members survived this film was so that they could use the next film (Avengers 4) to give them a proper sendoff for the ones that aren't coming back afterwards.

Infinity War was meant to bridge the gap between the old and new generation of heroes and Avengers 4 will likely give the old generation a proper sendoff as the mantle officially passes onto the new generation.

This would be definitely be the preferred reason.

So all the original Avengers survived?

Then yeah, I would guess it’s so 4 can focus on the original 6 and give them a good send off.

I feel like the origin 6, with a little help from Strange, could totally take down Thanos if they were on Titan.

Thor almost kills him in the end with stormbreaker. Thanos is quite nerfed tbh

Seems like Thor with Stormbreaker could by himself.

If we're talking woulda coulda shouldas, Heimdall could have probably bifrosted Thanos into a black hole.

Also, whilst on the subject of crushing gravity. I wonder if one of those Dark Elf black hole grenades would be able to kill Thanos.

I think Strange makes it pretty clear that there is only way they can win and they are currently on that path, so it doesn't really matter what they should or should not have done.

So if this like a heist movie at all? That’s how some described it a few months ago.

So
Heimdall doesn't need the bifrost observatory to teleport people anymore? He does it by himself?

That makes sense given the decision Strange makes.

I wouldn't really call it a heist film. In a weird way it almost plays out like Inglorious Basterds, several mini stories with overarching characters converging in the final act. I'd have to watch it again but I'm pretty sure this is a five act film.

Add in Nebula for a little inside info on Thanos too. Maybe that's why she has survived to be one of the main season for his downfall, she is after all someone who has suffered immensely at his hands. Maybe he totally underestimates her or something and pays the price with assisting the heroes with maybe some vital piece of info.

Thanos actually mentions that she did in fact nearly kill him after GotG2 when she snuck on his ship.

So it stands to reason that she's a very valuable asset in the fight against Thanos.

Also, if you're familiar with the original Infinity Gauntlet comic mini Nebula does get her moment, so I definitely think she's going to be a big player in part 2.

At the end of the film, he does indeed.

Yes! FINALLY,
MCU Thor is able to teleport on his own
he's gonna be one baaaaaaad maama jama in A4.

Hey folks, do everyone a favour who doesn't want to be spoiled and also post your spoiler free reviews in the non-spoiler thread. It's not fair to people who want to hear what their fellow fans are saying but want to remain surprised.

Apparently not.

I'd say that's lazy writing. In Ragnarok Heimdall could not teleport Thor from Surtur without Bifrost. And in the first Thor movie Loki told Thor that if Bifrost was destroyed, Thor would not be able to teleport to Midgard to Jane.

**** the writing, my boy gets a cool new power I dig it.

How is Spidey in the movie? What does he do that's of significance?

  • Helps Tony fight the Black Order in the New York attack outside the Sanctum.
  • Stowaways on board the donut ship and helps Tony kill Maw and save Strange.
  • Is present for the battle on Titan.

That doesn't sound like much, but trust me he gets some great moments.
