Did Thanos have the power stone when he was fighting the hulk?

Yeah but he didn't need to use it. He kicked Hulk's ass in a fist fight and it was glorious.

He seems to go into denial a bit about how it affects him and the realisation Thanos might be too powerful even for him, and of all people it's Rocket who makes the attempt to get through to him.

I LOVED THAT SCENE SO MUCH!

Oh, and before I forget. . . THOR! MY GOD THOR!!!!! HE WAS INSANE!!!!!! I AM SOOOOO HAPPY AS A THOR FAN. THANK YOU RUSSOS!

Great to know (thanks, Marvel!!) how big of a comeback Thor's got since Ragnarok!

Thanks kingdork. Can you explain how he didn't use it. Am kinda confused.

Seems like a huge turnaround after the first 2 Thor and Avengers films. I think his popularity with the GA will go up a lot. Hopefully that might help get a Thor 4 too.

Also, Banner was having trouble trying to change into the Hulk as if he was too afraid to get angry following his humiliating defeat at the hands of the Mad Titan.

Overall, an amazing film! 9/10 can't wait to see this again and I kinda have my theory on how it may end in the next film.

And I thought Scott and Hope were going to cameo too - and speaking of cameos, it was awesome to see Red Skull again. Can't remember who voiced the character but he pulled off Hugo Weaving's voice quite admirably. Also got a chuckle when Bruce asked who was Scott when Cap told him he was the Ant-Man, then Bruce responds with "we have an Ant-Man and Spider-Man?"

I like how there was a fk load tons of theories about whose hands was Tony holding at the beginning of trailer 1 and bam it turned out to be his own hand lol.

True that. And a Thor 4 would be a dream.

What a gahdamn movie. One of the most epic movies I've ever seen. Bravo Marvel.

Wait! Isn't Weaving playing him?!?

My thoughts on the ending is that it did have a real impact, even though we know that most of the deaths are reversible. (They even give that away in the scene itself by having Thanos reverse Vision's death to kill him again.) Kids may actually think their favorite characters are dead, but even people who don't will know that the point of the scene is the reactions of the survivors. With their reactions and the lack of music it is the kind of bleak scene that makes you sad that you have to wait a year to see this horrible tragedy undone.

Now, whether that's a "good" ending I can't even say. It's not my kind of ending. I think my problem with it is that the movie ends right after the people crumble. In a tragedy there is usually some time after the deaths for people to reflect and mourn. Here they just want to hit you with the deaths and run, probably so we don't have time to actually think about the fact that they could all come back. If people walk out unsatisfied (and we'll see if they do) it will be the suddenness rather than the sadness that probably does it.

My main character interest is in Scarlet Witch so I find it almost funny that after all these years, I still have no real idea what their plans are for her. On the one hand, this movie gave her more screen time, less of an accent, and will probably make her better-liked by the public. On the other hand, she has no connection to anyone other than Vision and she won't be around for the first part of the next movie.

So her role isn't exactly good or bad, just I have no real clue if the filmmakers want to keep using her or not once they inevitably launch "New Avengers" a few years from now.

  • Helps Tony fight the Black Order in the New York attack outside the Sanctum.
  • Stowaways on board the donut ship and helps Tony kill Maw and save Strange.
  • Is present for the battle on Titan.

That doesn't sound like much, but trust me he gets some great moments.

Spidey's key moment is a bit similar to his " anyone seen that really old movie Empire Strikes Back ?" He references Alien ( in which the monster gets blown out into space) which is how he and Tony dispatch Ebony Maw.

He does get some good moments, even his "death" scene, where he fades away in Tony's arms after the "snap" is pretty good - because it reminds us that he's still just a kid.

What an epic film. It affected me in ways I didn't expect and afterwards I just sat in silence, watching the names go by and listening to the music, trying to grasp everything I had seen.

This is Thanos' film. Brolin does an amazing job with the character and it really comes across through the CGI. I think it worked perfectly to make him sort of a tragic hero in the way that he truly feels like he thinks he's right but that doing the right thing will take tremendous sacrifice and loss. His last scene with Gamora really hit my emotions.

I think his children are good as well, but they just aren't a presence on Thanos' level and they really shouldn't be.

The heroes are balanced really well and all get about as much to do as you can expect when there's so many of them. You might feel that you miss the close connection you get in smaller films, but this is just a different kind of film and I think it works. It feels unique.

I loved Thor's arc, which puts him yet another step closer to the god he is in the comics and they played nicely on some of his mythology. He also has a great dynamic with Rocket and that duo is probably my favorite in the film.

The relationship between Wanda and Vision is also a very nice through-line in the film and pays off nicely. I also like how Stark's journey ends, and he has good chemistry with Strange and Parker.

The film has some great action as well and I like how they used the Infinity Gauntlet and the Stones so they made it work in an interesting way cinematically, and not just make it completely overpowered to the point where no one could ever do anything to Thanos. Many times there was that nice, tiny sliver of hope while still having Thanos be incredibly imposing.

Overall this film just feels special. A unique feeling that I can't remember quite having had before. I definitely need to see this film again, both to catch more things that are in there, and to soak in everything in a different way now that I know what's coming.

If thor had just come in and chopped his arm straight off with the gauntlet on, instead of putting stormbreaker in his chest. Well too simple I guess lol.
Great movie tho, not very impressed with cg of black order and a bit disappointed we didn't get more hulk.

Looking forward to the next one!

Thor isn't a strategist like Cap. He wanted to look Thanos in the eye before he died. He still has remnants of the 'reckless boy' he was in the first movie.

Edit: sorry for using the spoiler tag, but sometimes I lose track whether I post in a spoiler/non-spoiler thread, so playing it safe.

Plus, it wouldn't have worked anyway given Strange only saw one possible future in which they win.

really enjoyed it
it is a credit to the writers, directors and the actors that every character has a natural chemistry whether they have interacted with other characters in previous films or in this film for the first time

*Person A* reacts to *Person B* exactly how you would expect them to and it is great

Cannot wait for the next movie

After sleeping through it, I might give this a 9.5 or 10.

Very much on the same page. This film was an experience I wont soon forget, and I'll be going back for seconds asap.

I felt for the heroes that Stark/Strange was the strongest pairing - probably due to the quality of actors ( and the MCU 's two biggest egos).

Brolin carries a lot of the film - I loved the "Thanos will return" at the end, which is directors showing whose movie this really was.

Hopefully Waititi is watching Infinity War right now and getting the itch.

Or better yet, since the Russos love the character so much they can do the 4th film.

I wonder how many more MCU films the Russos have in them ? I think they successfully intergrated a lot of the characterisation of Thor, from Ragnarok, and the humour of GOTG into IW - which blended really well.

IMO the Russos should do a Vision/scarlet witch film, as they seem to really get those characters. ( btw, dude have you reconsidered SW's power tier? She has some big feats in IW, even holding off Thanos and destroying the mind gem).

Cheers
