Avi's comments on FF2

I think it will be kind of cool to start the movie 2 years later as Avi says.....

Kind of interested in how they are going to handle the wedding....

Also means that the 4 can already be much stronger with their powers right from the start.....no more watching them getting use to their powers....beginning to sound very interesting....

I agree. I loved what I heard from Avi. Seams like it will be a wholy different movie. For the better I hope.

I still wish Surfer wasn't in it yet:(

I pretty much agree with you, but if the 4 stay the focus of the movie, then I'll be ok with whoever they bring in....

We agree there. But if he's introduced right, then it could work very well. He or Galactus can not be the focus of the movie.

Yeah I guess. I still wish they would use Frost's draft since Story doesn't got enough time as is. And they need to finish the Doom story and let...Story do it like he wants.

Looks like Frost has stayed on....maybe there is a good medium between the 2 scripts....

For some reason, I see SS and Galactus pretty much at the end....with Doom still the primary villain....and they come in a bigger way in #3.

Well Story's going to go which ever way Avi's going to go, or walk out, which is not going to happen. He'll be ok.

Right. Only way it will work. At the end as a cliff hanger. :) Then have the Surfer movie, then bring them both on for 3, and finish it up with a big bang.

Yeah I'm sure Frost stayed on as a co-writer or something. I just hope SS is at the end though. Or atleast has a small part. I think Frost's had Puppet Master though. Doom manipulating him or something. That was my guess:o . Meh as long as Doom's arc gets finished. I'd hate for it to go no where.

They've been doing it in Capri Sun commercials (I think it's Capri Sun), complete with surfing effects, for several years...the capability goes all the way back to Terminator 2...
For scenes with other characters and in close-ups, I'm sure they can do a "rotoscoping" CGI that will do just fine.
That should be brought up in the movie as a joke. Silver Surfur lands near the FF when he's helping them and Jonny says something like "hey where's the capri sun?"
and surfur would make a confused face "I don't unders" Jonny "nevermind, its an earth thing"

If Hulk was such a bomb, I don't think they would be making a sequel, espcially with the same actors.

...wrong board or replying to a post 6 pages back?

Actually the post I was responding to was
Those who cow-tow end up making movies like Elektra or Hulk.... studio bombs
and it wasn't six pages back, the thread isn't even three pages.

Hmmm...interesting comment about Doom. Julian starts shooting season 4 of Nip/Tuck right a fter Memorial Day (almost a month earlier than last year) and could finish up by middle to late August... plenty of time to shoot some scenes for FF2. Fox has always been flexible about clearing Michael and Julian's schedules.

Actually it takes about 5-6 months to film Nip/Tuck. So maybe Julian can go up to Vancouver when he is done with Nip/Tuck but I am guessing the earliest he can be done is Oct.- Nov.

At this point no one knows how big of a part Doom will play.....so that may indeed be enough.

I'd love to see Surfer and Galactus be the villians in the next movie (although I expect Surfer to turn to the side of good, natch). This is a great idea.

Much better than the Puppet Master concept in my eyes.

The Davinci code is a big hollywood film set in Europe. It also has European actors and a style similar to European films and some wonderful publicity from an angry Catholic Church. As such it has a particularly strong European audience.

X-Men 3 didn't make as much money as it.

Therefore X-Men 3 is a bomb?!?!?!

What if Davinci Code just wasn't playing and X-Men 3 made the exact same box office as it did but was number 1 instead of number 2. Would it still be a bomb?

Did Babe Ruth become a bum the day Hank Aaron hit 715 home runs?

I'd rather be the second richest person in the room with Donald Trump than the richest person in the room with Harvey Dundee.

But this is an FF forum anyway, isn't it?

From an FF point of view, I'm very happy that X-Men 3 is doing well and not the least bit concerned that Davinci code did better in Europe.

I take it as a grain of salt....from a salt shaker that has a salty reputation....lol ;)

not sure I like where he is headed with FF2. Galactus is good for the comics but it is a very delicate thing to handle in a film. I don't see them pulling it off. And Surfer will have to be CG most of the time and they cannot pull that off. They need to keep things small while dealing with a grand scale. I think that Marvel forgets that. Its only when there is a director that fights the studio do we get a good movie. Those who cow-tow end up making movies like Elektra or Hulk.... studio bombs

i agree with Elektra but it's still hard to call the HULK a studio bomb
when it actually did gross over 60 million dollars in it's opening weekend.

Hulk's namesake still sells .....despite very poor directing ( ang lee)

And that really points out, as much as we'd all like a big budget, the value of keeping the budget in line. If Hulk had a lower budget, it would have been considered a "hit".
