The Dark Knight Based On The Ledger Casting - Who Do You Think Will Be Cast As Dent?

k going though all these posts so far i think some of the top choice that arent already highly rumored are:

Eion Bailey
Eric Bana
Hugh Jackman
Clive Owen
Jake Gyllenhaal
Guy Pierce

Ok out them my personal pick would have to either Eric Bana or Eion Bailey.

I havent seen Clive do an american accent before.

Hugh Jackman just has so much on his plate right now and has already been type cast as Wolverine.

Jake is ok but with Ledger on board it would just bring around the wrong idea about Batman, c'mon know wants mix brokeback mountain with batman.

I would also pick Guy Pierce but he's stated he doesnt wanna do a comic book movie.

If people say f***ing Christianson one more time I am going to vomitt... go watch Ep. II and then tell me he can act... go watch many parts of Ep. 3 and tell me he can act... this guy can't act for sh:t... maybe for kids movies... this guy nearly buried the prequels for good... the CGI and the action was the only thing that made up for it... Pheonix would be awesome but pricy... I'd go Lucas or Schrieber if you can't get him... it's a no brainer and Nolan knows it... Joker was anything but a no brainer...

ANYONE BUT HIM!.

I read on filmforce that Joaquin Phoenix and Jake Gyllenhaal were alternates if Ledger didn't want to play Joker. If this is true than Phoenix could possibly be Dent instead, which is what I'm hoping for.

This is Two-Face!!

i wouldn't mind eion as dent. if he were taller he'd make a good superman(look wise). they seem to be casting people around bales age so i think eion would fit.

Eion was also an actor tested for Batman - as was Cillian Murphy...so you never know.

Then again...so was Jake Gyllenhaal who I would very much like to see get the role.

Batman Begins Sequel

I've been a big Batman fan since before Batman Begins changed the characters from good to great. I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment and am excited about the casting of the Joker. I think Johnny Depp could do a great job, but has anyone considered Mandy Patinkin? He is awsome in Dead Like Me and there isn't a movie-going soul in the world that can't quote him from The Princess Bride. I know he's got the evil in him, and I think he might have the miniacle side too. If any of the IGN interviewers get a chance to talk to Christopher Nolan for The Prestige, could you ask him?
--Matt
Hi Mat. Mandy is definitely an interesting suggest, although it looks pretty likely now that the part is going to Heath Ledger. Another site mentioned the possibility of Joaquin Phoenix and Jake Gyllenhaal as alternate should Ledger be out of his mind enough to turn down the offer. As always, we'll keep you posted as we hear more.

What do you think of Heath Ledger playing the Joker? Do you think he can pull it off. I'd rather have seen Jude Law as the next Joker. Also, is there any news on the casting of Twoface? Guy Pierce???
--Adrian
I think Ledger is a good choice, honestly. He's had a great resurgence in the past year. If you haven't already seen Lords of Dogtown, he's terrific regardless of what you might think of the movie.
Haven't heard anything on Pierce lately nor any word that there will be another villain in the next Batman installment on top of The Joker.
Thanks for writing,
--Otto
I'm just here to voice my disgust at the "rumor" of Heath Ledger being the new Joker. Rumor is in quote because the way everyone is talking, it seems like a sure thing.
I've always had it in my head that Crispin Glover would make an excellent Joker, and when I heard rumor of him maybe being in it, I was ecstatic. But Heath Ledger? What a tragedy. I don't know if anyone else agrees that Crispin Glover should be the next Joker, but if you've seen any of his music videos, I think everyone would agree with me. If you do agree, there is a petition online that I made . . . I doubt it will do anything, but it would be cool if it got SOME signatures.

Thank you for letting me vent my frustrations.
--Bill
Hi Bill. I'm a big fan of Glover myself, and he could certainly work, although I don't think it's too likely. I don't think you should be so upset by Ledger, though. If you really think about it, he's an interesting choice that could work great, at least in my humble opinion. You've got to have some trust in Nolan. He's clearly earned it after the first film.

I am not so sure how reliable THAT info is - and the idea of Pheonix playing Joker makes me scratch my head.

i wa sjust looking eion bailey on imdb! he would be great but i doubt it talented enough to play both roles well.

He can act. Go see "Shattered Glass". Lucas was the problem for the prequels: he can't direct or write. Having said that, he's really not right for Dent or Joker. None of these roles are no-brainers. i wouldnt be suprised if Schrieber was cast, and I wouldnt be surprised if some unknown was cast.

Am I only one who cant see Jake G as Dent

Gyllenhaal would be better suited for Black Mask, in my opinion. He knows how to play a dark character.

He's a very talented actor, its just he hasnt had the big roles yet.

I really believe that either Liev Schrieber or Jim "Caviezel should play harvey. Maybe Josh Lucas

Hey think about it everyone, he got the fan fav for Black Mask once, he was not in the usual suspects for two-face as someone mentionned and he's not american :

KARL URBAN!!!!!!!!!!!

A Perfect choice IMO

karl_urban05.jpg

The handsome charming charismatic Dent

Killer Dent

Then perhaps a manip of him as Two-Face would be good but what do you all think?
