The Dark Knight Batfans - One Last Time

These scum protest funerals of dead soldiers, police officers, aids patients, and anyone high profile. Just block them out.

Oh lord, I just saw this and it is absolutely sick. Those bastards are in for a rude awakening when they are the ones burning in hell. But I agree with Nivek, do not give them more attention. It only furthers their cause.

If others do that - fine. I certainly will not stop them. But I don't want our people (if we do mobilize) to do this.

That would only attract more attention, and most likely, pity for these sickos. Peaceful gathering of Ledger fans is all this is. We are there to gather in remembrance of one of the greatest actors of this generation, and in protest of these sickos.

I say if you can't go to the funeral, protest on line.

I went to their website and posted a message. Now, I'm a semi-religious baptist myself, so this really came from the heart. So please don't laugh at my comments, but here's what I wrote to them:

"Leave Heath Ledger Alone. Who are you to judge him and his own sins. Sin is Sin, we have all committed sin in our life. The sins you have done are equal to those Ledger did. Who are you? Who are you to Judge him? Thats the Lord's job, NOT YOURS!

I've been so ashamed by you people in the past, as you call yourselves Christian. You're not Christians, you're ****.

The Devil has tainted your "church" and used scripture against you. I hope you all dine in Hell with him when your time comes.

If I were you I would repent, ask Jesus for forgiveness. You need salvation, and stop hating people, for hate is just a big a sin as homosexuality.

God loves everyone, including gay people and even your sorry low-life undeserving selves."

I hope none of this offends anyone on here, but if it does I apologize.

Mr. Phelps' time is coming up quite soon.:yay:

They are going to get attention as it. It would be better to transform any story that would of been "WBC protest Ledger's funeral" to "WBC's protest quited by Ledger's fans"

Oh I agree completely.

I would say get as many Batfans as possible and just stand the perimeter of said funeral.

Wearing any sort of 'Batman' apparel.

When asked, what are you doing, all simply say the same thing and nothing else: "putting a man to rest, with decency and honor."

If provoked or mocked, stand without fear and "non-stooping of said person's level."

No signs; no chanting; no words - just arm and arm with your fellow-Batfan.

This is exactly what I was thinking as I was reading through this thread. Phelps and his minions have been protesting funerals of military personal wo have been killed in Iraq, and there is a group who follows them to every funeral they announce they are going to protest and does exactly this. They stand shoulder to shoulder between the family of the fallen soldier and the Phelps idiots. They do what you described above; say nothing, respond not to the protestors, and simply stand as a human wall. Most of these guys are former military themselves and most of them show up on motorcycles (at least in this area around Chicago) and escort the funeral procession as well if the family allows.

I would almost wonder if these guys would be willing to help with this as well. At the very least they are a very respectful model to follow when dealing with these idiots protests.

I don't know what we could do- but I do feel that these people are sick- and need to be arrested for something like that.

I applaud this message, really I do. But guys...lets not start any message board wars. If you go to their boards, they will eventually come to ours. And while the sentiment behind it is appreciated, I don't think Mirko will like the idea of a message board war (he has come down hard on it in the past for such "wars" with theforce.net). Be the bigger person in all of this.

I'd even encourage you to not attend the funeral in an anti-protest. That is only one more distraction for Heath's family who is there to mourn him.

Howard Stern brought this up on his show this morning. He hates Phelps crew.

and for crying out loud, do not attract those losers here! Our trolls are bad enough, those guys are like cockroaches.

I don't think Stormin's intent is to give them attention. It's to just simply keep them at bay so they do no emotional harm to Ledger's family at their most vulnerable point.

What Stormin' wants to do is very admirable, and I think we as Batman fans (subsequently TDK and Ledger fans) should do is show our support for the family.

The fact that Phelps insists on picketing the funeral and kicking the family while they are down is outrageous. SOMETHING has to be done to keep them from doing this.

I don't know, Matt. I think that they would appreciate his fans gathering to quietly protest the WBC.

I agree it is admirable. Norman is a great person for having an idea like this. I just think that any sort of "anti-protest" would just be an even bigger distraction to Heath's family. One is enough...don't give them another, no matter how good intentioned it may be.

I know, I was wondering if it's possible to be arrested for 'disturbing the peace'. Hah, I remember when I went to a Marilyn Manson concert, the protesters kept threatening us with going to Hell. I shoulda called that a threat and phoned the cops.

what sickens me also is that they bring their little kids to protest as well....

If I were to 'mock' properly, I would bring my priest with me.

Nothing says 'you idiots' more than a fully dress Methodist priest, with a batman shirt over his robe.

I digress.

I do not want to 'mock' and I feel my priest would agree.

Conversely, this 'fuels my fire' as well. My dream is to one day be a person of 'power,' in the Christian community. So that when things like this happen under my watch, I can 'do' what is right, for my Lord and my beliefs.

I do not have contempt for these people. I have a broken-heart, and, one day, I will mend my heart by committing my life to the closets way, I know,of my feeble understanding of Christ - love.

Love puts a man to rest; hate spits on a grave, as a mourning mother cries.

I say: let's beat those mother****ers up, they don't deserve teeth. :o

And do you really think it would end with a quiet protest? These people are pros. They know how to stir **** up. All it would take is for them to get one of you to start yelling back (and someone will...someone always does) and it escalates until you are a bigger distraction than any of them.

See, I'm a very casual Batfan. But I'm a huge Ledger fan. He was already, in my eyes, a pretty good actor before I saw Brokeback. I haven't cried in a film, except for Brokeback. His portrayal of Ennis Del Mar made it easier, seeing his trials, for me to come out to my family. I love that man, and what the WBC wants to do is sickening.

It wasn't a message board. I just left a comment on there home page. They have no idea who I am, nor that I am tied to this board. I promise you I have NOT started a war, but they will hear my voice.
