GOTY? That's an overstatement.

Not at all. Go read some reviews. Game of the year is mentioned more than a few times. People arent saying its this years Bioshock just for the hell of it.

It's good but hardly GOTY worthy. The campaign is short and there's no replay value other than the challenge modes. The fighting ones are boring. Half of the stealth ones are recycled with harder objectives.

It's already going for around $45 on eBay and it's been out less than 2 weeks.

I think the riddles and challenge mode are enough to keep people going. It's really all the extra goodies that bring up the replay value. If that isn't your thing then okay but the vast majority seem to get good replay value out of it. I for one don't find the fighting even remotely boring. That's the farthest word I can think of to describe it.

I can't tell you how many times I got lost in the ****ing Asylum. It's so damn huge....:cmad:. But, I just made it passed the part where Joker sends that mutated freako down the elevator.

So yeah, I never got around to finishing my review (in fact I've made fewer posts all week), but I'd say this guy somes up my thoughts, having finished the game.

Scroll down to the arkham asylum review.

The game is fun and better than I expected and the atmosphere and story make you feel like you're batman. Superhero games should be more like this. However, as a game in general...there were some things they could have done to make it perfect.

So yeah respond to this guy's review.

i lmao'd at 2:49-2:51. good stuff

I think B:AA has the best hand-to-hand combat in any video game, it was better than Fight Night Round 3 and the Tekken series.

The combat felt like playing fight scenes in a Bruce Lee film with the arm/leg snapping and kick/punches full of fury.

I have one riddle left in the Botanical Gardens. Its the one with the question marks all over it. Anybody know where I can find it?

I'd agree the fighting in this game is the best I've played in forever. To have Batman have his own unique style is one thing but the Joker has one as well which is similar to a drunken master style. But still very joker with poking people in the eye, hoping over they head. I can't say enough about the fighting I think its very smart well thought out, and done to near perfection.

Like i said, go read some of the reviews. GOTY is mentioned more than once by different outlets. Im not saying it'll win it, as that honor will go to Uncharted 2, but this game will be in the running.

Isnt that the symbol for the Riddlers map? Have u found the map for the Botanical Gardens?

Iv played through the game 3 times since its been out, still hasnt worn on me yet. The game is just fantastic from start to finish. Playing such a well made game is more than enough reason to go back through it multiple times. The game is just flat out, a great game, which is why itll be in the GOTY running.

Meh, reviews mean less and less in this day and age.

So far I've played a few hours in and I think it's definitely one of the best games based on Batman I've ever played. Great story, simplistic combat but still satisfying. But game of the year?

That is up to the beholder. I'm sure this won't be my game of the year, but it'll be one of the more memorable experiences. But the point is one person's GOTY is another persons quick weekend rental. Reviews mean nothing when it comes to personal taste.

:hehe: Errr...wha? That's not even out yet. There isn't any reviews. Sony fan boy coming through me thinks.

Modern Warfare 2 will probably win game of the year.

Yeah, I don't think it's him being a fanoy. I think Uncharted was his favorite game this gen, and the demo of Uncharted 2 has already convinced him I'm pretty sure

Plus, GOTY doesn't really mean anything anyway. It just means so-and-so websites/magazine/fans thought a game was the best of the year.

Fair enough.

But how can someone say "Ohh so and so game will win game of the year" by simply playing the demo?

And yea the Game of the Year awards are like the Oscars anyway. A load of political ********.

It's not so hard to believe. When you thought the first one was that great, and all the playable stuff and videos have shown that this one looks to be at least on par with that one.

You said MW2 would probably win. It's not so different. I'm sure you like MW a lot, and have seen a lot of stuff from the second that makes you think it will follow suit

It's not that I like MW. It's just I think that is the sort of big marque multi platform game that these types of awards pick.

Yeah, I love the combat system for the game. Beating the **** out of a ton of goons always does it for me. When I lose in one challenge I replay another just for the hell of it. I like replaying Sewer Bat.

Most likely it's the map you're missng.

As it's been pointed out, that game isn't even out yet.

The award is pretty meaningless and it's often fueled by hype. You're evidence of that since you think an unreleased game is GOTY. And if B:AA is a candidate, that goes to show it's been a pretty weak year for games.
