Batman: Arkham Asylum

yeah I noticed that last night. I finally replayed the game on Hard level to completion and then went back and did the combat challenges and was much better at it this time. I'm usually able to do a flawless free flow on the first 2 rounds of the regular challenges, although I can never get higher than a damn silver medal on any of them.

I just have one question:

WHERE IS THE LAST RIDDLE?! I replayed the game and tried to pick up all the trophies, tapes, secret messages, etc. and I have solved all the riddles, gotten all the items and unlockables, but I am missing one Riddler Trophy. I have gone into every building multiple times and carefully looked at my Riddler maps and there is no green question mark ANYWHERE. If someone can help, thanks in advance.

Also, I caught things I missed before which was cool like Ra's Al Ghul and Calendar Man and Two-Face's cells. I also caught a cool thing in that the red head doctor you save is Sarah Cassidy, so Zsasz, that bastard, did not butcher her like we thought he did at the end of the tape. Yay!

The one thing I think would have been cool is if Dr. Young's death was by smilex or "Happy Gas." Complete with a long drawn out close up of her losing her mind. We had classic Joker, but we never actually saw people die from Happy Gas (always too far away) and as she was the big Joker victim of the game, they should have gone all out visually with it. OH well.

If I had to guess, you're missing the Joker teeth in the Warden's office. When you first walk into the room, look up and batclaw a portion in the ceiling. There are some teeth in there.

Are you looking for the last of the Warden's spirt tape things? It's in the room with Clayface where you left the current Warden.

If it's a Riddler trophy, there's probably a vent you missed or it's in one of the walls up above where you need to use the ultra bat-claw. Just retrace your steps and turn on the Detective Mode and keep it on at certain times.

I remember missing alot of the trophies. :meanie:

I understand that. But I have retraced my steps and it is very tiresome. All the trophies are on the Riddler maps. And I have the maps for the sewers, the Island and all the buildings. I literally have collected 239 of 240 trophies. I have all the tapes and solved the Spirit of Arkham subplot, which was quite fun. But the last trophy is on none of my maps and I don't know if I really want to just search the entire island like a fourth time (once through the game, twice to get all the trophies and a third looking for this one missing object).

I was hoping there was a well known trophy not on the maps that I'm missing or something.

The only things that don't show up on the Riddler's Maps is Jokers Teeth. You just have to look up where they all are and see which you missed.

Yeah, like I was missing the last Jokers Teeth in the Warden's Office which is above you. I missed that when I was actually playing and it wasn't until I finished the game that I went back and grappled up there.

But if it's a trophy, just list where it appears on the Riddler Challenge thing (where you're done finding some and they check off) and I can try to help you out if you want, DA.

Arent there a few riddler trophies in those passage ways between section of the islands? I know theres a few of them up in the concrete railings that you need to tear off a vent and a wall section to get to. I didnt think there were riddler maps for those areas.

Did you also get the two out on the small islands that you have to glide out to when you leave the bat cave?

So I just got this yesterday and I'm absolutely loving it so far.

Loving it.

Ive been playing the game for the past few weeks and finally beat it 2 days ago, so I can comment on it. I have to say my initial assessment from playing the 2 demos has changed and Im happy that the final game is much better than those were. In the demo, Batman would do the slow mo punch to every final attack on an enemy and that got annoying, but in the full game they changed it so he's only doing it on the final guy in the room. Heres my mini review

Graphics
The game looks good. Alot better than I expected it too. All the characters are pretty detailed and they look like their comic book counterparts. Batman especially looks good. I like that as the game progresses, your suit and cape start to shown signs of tear. Nice touch

Gameplay
The game has a perfect mix of stealth, action and puzzle solving. I like the variation and how things dont always feel the same. Not being able to jump didnt bother me as he jumps when he needs to. Only negative would be all the backtracking. Made sense within the scope of the story, but it did get annoying towards the end

Controls
The combat is great. I didnt care for it in the demo, but its improved. My main problem was that it was too easy and came down to simply pressing the counter button when it signaled you to. I started on hard so didnt have that problem. The game was challenging but not too difficult. The combat needed more skill and I preferred that over the simple approach of the other modes.
Replay Value
This game has tons of it. I LOVE the Riddlers puzzles. Its fun trying to figure those riddles out. Theres alot of collectables to keep one busy. Im not a reader of Batman so interview tapes and trophies didnt do much for me but those are great addition for fans. And after all thats done theres the Challenge rooms to handle. Joker is really fun to play as and they did a really good job at capturing him.

Overall
Overall great game and the best DC one to date. If I had to score it, Id give it a 9. Game is pretty good at almost everything it sets out to do

On a related note, I didnt realize that this game was a Blu-ray hybrid on the PS3. Its pretty cool that they did that and I wish other developers would

God, this game awesome so far. I just took out Bane last time I played. I think this version of Scarcrow might be my favorite interpretation of the character. Reminds me a lot of Freddy Krueger.

Amazon on a lightning deal sale on it a couple hours ago, at 3 AM.

I think for $30 on the PS3 and the 360. They sold out fast.

Since I ordered a PS3, I traded my 360 copy in. I'll pick up a PS3 copy down the road when I want to play it again.

Bought this on my Xbox on Wed. Just beat it 15 mins ago. I really love this game. It was so fun and is definetly my favorite game this year.

The graphics were really good. The character designs were fantastic, best Batman suit Ive ever seen all they need to do is paint in black and it would be perfect. The story was very good very well thought out. Of course, the voice acting was great as well.

I only have a couple gripes. The Poison Ivy and Killer Croc boss battles (especially Killer Croc) were weak. Poison Ivy was just tedious and boring while Croc's was just annoying and was only fun for about 2 minutes.

Great game

Any news on DLC?

Also is there any news on a sequel? I would love one...just not set in Arkham Asylum. IGN actually had what I thought was a great idea for a sequel.

Game #1 - Batman: The Battle for Gotham City

The Setup
Our first game picks up right after Arkham Asylum. With Batman and Jim Gordon occupied all night, the escaped inmates have set upon Gotham City with renewed vigor. Two-Face, Penguin and Black Mask are attempting to reclaim their territories, and a gang war has erupted throughout the various districts.

Without getting into too much gameplay, we're envisioning a mixture of Crackdown with Arkham's established formula (which is a bit of a mix between Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil and God of War). We wouldn't create a completely open city, forcing instant transportation between "zones" via Batmobile.

The Villains
Black Mask
Black Mask might look like a clone of Marvel's Red Skull, but he's a perfect boss character for a videogame. Mask would function as our first major obstacle for Batman when he returns to Gotham, and would be the third major player in the gang war that occupies much of this game.
Acting as Mask's lieutenant would be none other than Firefly, a bad guy that is too cool to ignore but a little too lame to be a major component of a Batman game on his own.

Penguin

Oswald Cobblepot is a bit of an odd character to fit into a combat heavy game, but we think he'd mix things up a bit. The second of three major Gotham lords to overcome in our second game, Cobblepot would be using the services of Great White Shark to finance his operations.

If we had our way (and since this is our article, we will), we'd slot Penguin as the second major boss of the game – and design his battles and environments to be drastically different from the typical battles of Arkham and much of our sequels. Much like Scarecrow, Penguin's encounters could be a great diversion.

Two-Face
One of the biggest Batman villains not featured in Arkham Asylum, Two-Face makes an ideal focus point for our sequel concept. Clearly the Rocksteady designers had Harvey Dent in mind. Not only is he featured in several puzzles, but he's referenced by name in the final scenes.
Our use of Dent sees him returning to Gotham during the events of the first game. Being a heavyweight crime lord in the city, Two-Face quickly seeks to establish his dominance with the help of the ruthless mercenary, Deadshot. As players seek to contain the gang war, they will have to throw down with 'Shot before getting to Dent. We're picturing a sniper-esque battle ala Sniper Wolf from Metal Gear Solid. The one catch? Batman doesn't use guns. Bummer, Bats.

Hush
While a gang war is the perfect backdrop of our sequel, we have much bigger plans in mind. You'll get a better picture of this in our "story description" section (see below), but Hush's appearance in our game has far bigger implications. As Batman struggles to contain Black Mask, Penguin and Two-Face, he'll run across Hush, who's obsession with taking down his former childhood friend, Bruce Wayne, has driven him insane.
Hush would function a bit like Riddler in our sequel, albeit one who physically confronts the Dark Knight from time to time. But we have grander plans for Thomas Elliot – plans that lead into our vision for a third game.

The Story

Our story starts where the first game left off: Two-Face is robbing a bank somewhere in Gotham. As Batman has secured Arkham Asylum, the realization hits him that the inmates the Joker set free have had plenty of time to wreak havoc on an unprotected city.

It turns out three of Batman's biggest villains (Two-Face, Black Mask and The Penguin) have been violently reclaiming their criminal empires - fighting for total control of the city. With Gotham split into territories (much like a condensed version of the 1999 No Man's Land storyline), it is up to Batman to take down the crime bosses and restore order.

Batman's first stop takes him to the aforementioned bank. Unfortunately Harvey Dent has fled the scene, leaving Batman to deal with hired gun, KGBeast. A quick interrogation later leaves the Caped Crusader with more questions than answers. There's definitely a gang war going on, but why is he hearing that Hush has been spotted throughout the city? And what's this about the League of Assassins? Isn't Ra's Al Ghul dead?

From this point on Batman is forced to fight through each of the three gangs, working his way up the ladder - from street thugs, to underbosses to the head of each gang (much like a "less sandboxy" style version of the videogame Crackdown). Batman targets the Black Mask's criminal organization first - which includes Firefly for muscle. With part of the city back in police control, the Dark Knight is confronted by Hush, who cryptically mentions the League of Assassins. After Hush makes a daring escape, Batman sets his sights on The Penguin and The Great White Shark (see what we did there?), who have united to claim another area of Gotham.

After defeating Penguin, Batman takes on the final villain reclaiming his territory: Two-Face. This proves to be the toughest fight yet as Dent has hired the assassin Deadshot as an enforcer. Eventually Gotham's hero comes face to face with Harvey Dent. Exhausted from stopping the war, not to mention the events at Arkham Asylum, our Caped Crusader heads home.

Upon arriving at Wayne Manor, Batman notices some late-breaking news. On every station is "leaked" footage of Batman negotiating with Two-Face, presumably bargaining the fate of Gotham away on a handshake. As this drama unfolds, Hush emerges from the shadows... only with the face of Bruce Wayne. In a much-needed villainous monologue (because we love those), Hush explains he plans to take his old friend Bruce Wayne's life hostage (a la Paul Dini's excellent Heart of Hush storyline) - but only after he defeats Batman once and for all. The final battle of the game features Hush and Batman clashing throughout the mansion and Batcave.

Take out Firefly and make Hush more connected and maybe add Catwoman and that would be awesome. A 2 player online co-op wouldnt be bad either

I finally got this game and so far it's been brilliant. The parts with Scarecrow are especially fantastic.
