Batman: Arkham Origins - Part 3

I honestly have no issue with Grayson playing like Drake. It's no different from the TV incarnations in Teen Titans and Young Justice, where they basically mixed all the Robins into one. It was always Grayson, but with characteristics from other Robins.
I know I just wish they had tried to differentiate them a bit more . especially in how they used the bow staff's it's just what I would have perffered. that and even brothers in real life have their own preffered style of how they like to do thing's. that they really didn't need to do that just cause the recent animated series of late chose to do that.

Which has been bugging me of late, not heavily, to me it just saying they are not Expecting the tv animated series to last long cause the way some Tv networks Cartoon work.

Which means they shouldn't be botheration with net work tv any more til they know that they have network producer won't screw the show they put out over. But they could do better themselves as well.

Just another medium under WB choose to be lazy about it doesn't mean everyone under Warner should be.
If it does well, hopefully they'll add a Tim Drake skin for Robin, and add a separate Nightwing character. Then throw in Batgirl and Jason Todd as Red Hood as well. For gangs and crew, I hope we'll get Two-Face, Penguin, Black Mask seems to be a given. I guess Anarky could be added as well. Who else could be put into the MP?

huntress is long over due to be put in.

Speaking of MP tho, i just got an email inviting me to sign up for the Beta in Aug

Nice. I really hope it's good. But I imagine it could be quite difficult for the heroes. This seems a bit like Spies VS Mercenaries from Splinter Cell. But there it was only 2 VS 2. Not 2 VS 6. I guess it wouldn't be quite Batman like, to just kick back and let the two teams decimate each other, before swooping in to take out the stragglers.

That's what I was planning to do when playing this mode. while hanging from the gargoyle's or ledges But it might not allow for that. we'll have to see.

never really been a huge fan of multiplayer, but the Arkham Origins multiplayer mode looks like a lot of fun. i'll definitely give it a chance

I hope it does. I want to see them add a bunch of Bat Family characters that weren't in any of the games before and hopefully we'll get more gangs as well.

While I understand your enthusiasm I don't like the idea of a multiplier filled with generic goons. If I play a Batman multiplayer game I want to be Mr. Freeze and shoot my ice gun at people, be Poison Ivy and control plants to unleash and trap my foes, be a master martial artist as Ra's al Ghul. I want a multiplayer the focuses on being the Batman character you want to be and have the abilities of the character, not this generic goon team based type stuff most of these single-player games get tacked on nowadays.

Hopefully it will be good but I don't think it will be a multiplayer that will last, I could be wrong.

well if it does well I hope they change it for the up coming sequel in installments to origins and AC or add other modes that include what you just said Doc ock

I'm glad they just focus on Batman Vs Thugs. That's only two play styles they have to focus on. I say baby steps. Now we get Splinter Cell's equivalent of Spies VS Mercenaries, in the next game they can make more iconic DC villains, with their unique power sets playable.

like I just said just add it in as another iteration of the same. there's room for both.

I doubt it'll allow for that. They said the thugs have a form of Detective Mode like Batman, which would almost definitely allow for them to see Bats on a Gargoyle or ledge and everytone would probably check those out pretty quickly. It's the inherent problem I see though, you either don't let them see Bats which make him to powerful of a character or you do making him to underpowered. Plus you're not just thinking about Bats, you've got the other team to worry about. Just seems to have a big potential to be overly frustrating.

There goes the tactical advantage there while playing as batman. but in a way it makes sense. In a way. I would have thought they'd allow for since he's some what out numbered.
Oh well.

Problem is you don't have time to be looking up for Batman or Robin because of the other team comin after you

Hmm It just mean every has to be aware of the environment their in it'll hard to sneak around for certain take downs, but it can be done.

Seems like MGO, with the lottery use of unique characters.

I don't know, could be fun. The main attraction is still the single player, and considering that the multiplayer was outsourced and isn't taking anytime away from the team making the single player...it's really, really hard to complain about any of it. Robin being in it is weird, but I guess if I think about how much stuff is crammed into a post-New 52 Batman, I'll just shrug it off and say 'whatever'. It is multiplayer.

Yea thats my thought as well. In the SP you can do all this cool stealth stuff because, for the most part, the AI allows you to. However, swap those AI enemies with human enemies and that goes out the window. Maybe the added heat of the other team will allow the Batman and Robin players to do all this cool stuff?

The MP seems like it could be a ton of fun. I hope Deatstroke gets added to it

Edit: I just got invited to the beta. I wonder how exclusive it is?

Yeah, I mean the AI will change up tactics as a stealth mission goes on longer, but it's definitely catered towards being able to hide on the gargoyles. I feel like adding in human players with detective mode and the ability to see you on gargoyles, in grates, ect... really takes away from Batman's advantages. However, not giving the squad plalyer those advantages really gives the Batman and Robin team a big leg up because then it's this boogeyman lurking around the map. Really the reason why I hate Assassin's Creed mulitplayer, I hate feeling like I'm constantly being hunted, but have little to no clue who's hunting me. At least in FPS' you have a good idea of who the opposing team is and where they're at/going to be.

Arkham City Tim Drake as an unlockable outfit confirmed! :awesome:

Arkham Origins Multiplayer Takes Crimefighting Online

The Batman: Arkham series has proven that superhero games have the potential to be some of the best in the biz, but they’ve been strictly single-player outings so far. In Batman: Arkham Origins, WB Games and Splash Damage are building an online multiplayer experience to complement the main campaign. And guess what — it’s really good.

Called Invisible Predator Online, this new mode takes the concept of the earlier games’ Challenge Rooms and puts other players into the role of the Joker and Bane’s thugs. Yes, this raises lots of questions. The general premise is as follows:

Eight players take to the streets of Gotham in the game’s multiplayer mode: three Joker thugs, three Bane thugs, and two heroes in the form of Batman and Robin. The thugs compete to wipe out the other team and capture control points in what plays out like a third-person, cover-based shooter. Meanwhile, the two heroes prowl the playfield in an attempt to intimidate enemies and provoke the gang leaders into calling the whole operation off.

When playing as Batman or Robin, variety matters. Repeating the same takedowns over and over will result in lower and lower intimidation yields, so you’ll need to get creative. Hide in ducts and score a takedown when someone passes over you, then grapple to a gargoyle overhead to get the drop on another unsuspecting thug. Set some explosive gel and wait for the right moment to detonate, while hiding in the shadows for a surprise chokeout. The more you mix it up, the better your chances. Whatever you do, though, be careful — getting taken out will bolster your foes’ confidence, undoing a good chunk of the progress you’ve made so far.

Initially, playing as Batman or Robin seems like a privilege players will be fighting over, but I actually had more fun getting down and dirty as one of the henchmen on the field. This mode would be a fully competent third-person shooter without the heroes’ presence, but their inclusion adds a wildcard element that turns Invisible Predator Online into a completely different kind of experience.

Tensions run high when you know the Batman could be around any corner, and the game plays to that stress. More than once, I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye and immediately fired in its direction, before realizing (too late, of course) that it was a flock of bats and my true target was lying in wait above me.

This trepidation follows you throughout the course of each match, so the last thing you want to do is assault your opponents head-on. You’ll be constantly watching the shadows, grates, and gargoyles above, while working to eliminate the opposing gang’s forces and capture the map’s control points.

In a fun twist, once the match has progressed a bit, the leader of your gang will radio in and demand entry into the arena. The first person on either team to reach the door they’re waiting at will assume actual control of either the Joker or Bane depending on their allegiance that round. The gang leader is, as one would assume, vastly more powerful than the standard henchmen, and can often turn the tide in a seemingly one-sided battle.

There’s an engrossing customization element to the game, as well. You can outfit all three factions with unlockable gear and outfits that you’ll earn throughout your time playing Invisible Predator Online. These range from practical upgrades like new weapons and additional loadout slots, to more fun options like the ever-popular Animated Series Batman costume.

Oh, one quick aside: Robin, while reportedly not a part of the single-player campaign, has a slick new character model in Invisible Predator Online. He’s not the gruff Robin from Arkham City, though that outfit is unlockable, but a younger, leaner Tim Drake (confirmed!) who looks more in line with the Robin you likely know from the comics or the animated series.

It’s still pretty early, but there’s already plenty to love about Arkham Origins’ multiplayer. This isn’t a loosely-constructed mode for the sake of printing another bullet point on the back of the box but a well thought out, fully realized multiplayer experience set in the Arkham universe. Splash Damage has a monolithic pedigree to live up to, but based on what we’ve seen so far, it seems they are up to the task.

Got any questions about Invisible Predator Online? Shoot ‘em my way in the comments and I’ll answer what I can.

so that's actually still Tim? hmmm. Well sounds like it'll be like I originally thought it would be then. play style wise.

Same here. I'm getting it for the SP. If I have nothing else to do once I 100% it, then I might try it.

I just hope the Challenge Maps are still there.

I'm pretty "eh" on multiplayer. I personally don't think the game should have it.

Not interested in this multiplayer or multiplayer in general. Pre-ordered this game the other day though. Can't wait.

kind of weird that they would go with Tim Drake as Robin in this game seeing as how it's suppose to take place in Batman's early years. thought for sure it would be Dick Grayson

I'm sure it's Grayson as Robin, how can it not be? Maybe they made a mistake?

And why not? It's not going to take anything away from your single player experience. You can always choose not to play it. Why are people often so selfish when it comes to MP?
