Batman: Arkham Origins

Apart from the voice acting (can't beat Conroy and Hamill) and the graphics, Origins pretty much is better. The Deathstroke boss fight was better than every boss fight in Arkham Knight combined. They based too much of the game around the Batmobile.
As a PC gamer, I'd like to know what Knight was like.

I'd have a pre-order down for an Origins remaster in an instant. The Asylum/City one doesn't really interest me despite enjoying those games. Whenever I get the urge to revisit this series, it's Origins I want to experience again. As I'm not expecting a remaster any time soon, I hope Gotham Knights scratches that itch.

The remastered versions of Asylum and City were terrible, stuttering messes, so I don't know if I'd want Origins to suffer the same fate. It's already got its own problems. If someone could just plug the holes and re-release it digitally on consoles, I would be happy.

But yeah, I'm pretty excited for Gotham Knights, since I'll finally get to play as the interesting members of the Bat-Family in a full game.

We all know it's true...

I see they finally have a working version on Steam.

It says it's $30 Canadian on Steam. What is that, like $20 American? That seems like a fair price. It's definitely worth a playthrough, even if there are head-scratching choices throughout.

I liked A Matter of Family a lot as far as Knight went. Short but I might recommend it just for that.

Of course the best part of Knight was from the Origins devs.

Yeah, A Matter of Family was great. The setting was perfect, and the Ghost Ship section was probably one of the best stealth rooms in the series. So many different options for takedowns.

Facts lol.

I don't know. Baker's Joker is so close to Hamill's with arguably more range do to his age.

Baker's Joker is great, but it was also more about what Hamill was given to do as Joker in Arkham Knight. One of my favorite aspects of the game was how Joker was constantly popping up to weigh in on what was going on at the moment.

I personally wouldn't call it better than Arkham City but it's definitely underrated and sorely due for a remastered re-release. It's really unfairly treated as the redheaded stepchild of the franchise all because Rocksteady didn't develop it.

For me, Asylum and City are really good theme park rides. That's not a criticism either. They're, for the most part (Titan Joker and City being blatantly unfinished notwithstanding), good at it. But at least for me, they are very much about touring the rogues gallery. It's about going to the Penguin's museum and Mr. Freeze's cryo lab and Scarecrow's fear toxin scenes and not Bane but most others. Knight is at its best in this regard too, when randomly encountering Man-Bat or the theater sequence. But for me, what makes Origins stand out is it's the one where I'm not just having fun touring the rogues gallery but invested in the actual substance of the story they're telling. Batman and Joker are both, I think, much more engaging with how they're used. It's still got you touring the rogues gallery and that's a good time, but the main story is really good and I'm not annoyed every time I have to return to it - unlike Arkham Knight. Not being able to play it at the moment, I go back on youtube and just watch sequences from it now and then. I'd kill to see Origins with the visual capabilities of current consoles. That Christmas atmosphere.

Such passion for this game.

Not to mention that Origins had the best designs for the villains and city out of the Arkham series. I loved that it involved the citizens of Gotham as well instead of just fighting in a abandon city.

And we got an awesome Bane.
Bane's look in Origins was great, and his wardrobe seemed to be inspired by TDKR. He was definitely way more imposing than the over the top 'roided out freakshow that we saw in Asylum and City, even though we saw the explanation why he looked like that in Origins.

I love playing it during Christmas time. The atmosphere they captured it so well in game.

Absolutly, its why i would love to see them do a second Origins during Halloween...the atmosphere would be so crazy cool.
Visually and all, Origins is so fantastic.

Yeah, that Black Mask or the Joker, Bane or Deathstroke...such cool character designs.
I always hoped for a Batman game with a decent amount of citizens on the streets.

The Deathstroke fight alone is worth the full price. It's a boss fight where you have to take a break after. Maybe go for a walk and think about how it's changed you.

Then there's the Deathstroke "fight" in Knight, and... I mean, you might still need to go for a walk after, but not for the same reason.

And like others have said, the game absolutely nails the Christmas atmosphere. Everything just feels cold as ****. You actually feel exposed sitting on a rooftop.

The Deathstroke fight in Origins might just be the best boss fight in the series in terms of combat skills. I was also a big fan of the Freeze fight in City where you use the environment against him but it didn't keep me on my toes nearly as much as Deathstroke.
