For me, Asylum and City are really good theme park rides. That's not a criticism either. They're, for the most part (Titan Joker and City being blatantly unfinished notwithstanding), good at it. But at least for me, they are very much about touring the rogues gallery. It's about going to the Penguin's museum and Mr. Freeze's cryo lab and Scarecrow's fear toxin scenes and not Bane but most others. Knight is at its best in this regard too, when randomly encountering Man-Bat or the theater sequence. But for me, what makes Origins stand out is it's the one where I'm not just having fun touring the rogues gallery but invested in the actual substance of the story they're telling. Batman and Joker are both, I think, much more engaging with how they're used. It's still got you touring the rogues gallery and that's a good time, but the main story is really good and I'm not annoyed every time I have to return to it - unlike Arkham Knight. Not being able to play it at the moment, I go back on youtube and just watch sequences from it now and then. I'd kill to see Origins with the visual capabilities of current consoles. That Christmas atmosphere.
