Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread

Since my hope is Affleck will stick around for another 5-10 years

the actors I would consider should be in their early to mid 20's now so they can take on the role of Batman at 30

Also remember there are 3 roles here an actor has to play

Batman
Bruce Wayne private
Bruce Wayne public

with that said I think Liam Hemsworth (thor's younger brother) Might be able to pull off all of it or honestly the only other actor I can think of

Dan Stevens, yes he is British but he can pull off the accent he is also able to be charming dark menacing and scary all in the same film don't believe me watch the Guest. the olny issue is that would put him in his mid 40's but that wouldn't be a huge issue

You must be kidding, he can't even act 1 character let alone 3.

Harrington wouldn't work because it would confuse people. Audiences will remember his breakthrough role as "A**hole Cop On Bridge" in The Dark Knight Rises, and they'll be left dumbfounded as to how this ill-tempered GCPD officer somehow assumed Bruce Wayne's identity.

I can guarantee you ....

Nobody will remember a ****ing thing.

I didn't even recognize him when I first saw the movie and I knew who he was from Dexter.

No offense to any of the choices, but after reading this thread, it really makes me appreciate Affleck in the role. I can't picture a single one of these actors being both Batman and Bruce Wayne in the way that Affleck is.

But I like the idea of Gosling. I could see him pulling it off. How freaking awesome does the new Blade Runner look? I would love an Elseworlds Batman film that has that Blade Runner neo noir visual vibe.

What about Tom Hardy as Batman?

Well i like Affleck, i really do, but if it come to replace him, for me it will be between Gosling ( yes he sound like a kid, but he is a commited actor, i'm sure that he could work on that, for the role) Michael Fassbender, and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Zero chance Gosling (:whatever:), Gyllenhaal, Fassbender or Hardy take this role

After watching a movie called OkJa, I'm convinced that Gyllenhall would make a crazy ass Joker.
Gosling would also make a better Joker than Batman.

I like Fassbender, I'm not crazy about him like most people are but I think he'd make a better Two Face. I think he's better at playing bad guys than good.

Richard Armitage.

Super talented actor, played heroic & scary roles very well before, great voice for Batman and 6'2 height and around same age with Batfleck.

I've only seen him in a couple of films and I didn't think his acting was very good.

You know who would be great as Bruce Wayne/Batman?

BEN AFFLECK!

:o

Richard Armitage.

He was my choice during the casting of BvS and I was disappointed he didn't get it.

I haven't seen him in all that much. Last thing was Colossal I think. I know you're against him, but what has he done that was so bad, and to the person suggesting him, what have you seen that makes you think he'd be right?

That was Deb's ******* partner from Dexter right? Yeah, I don't think him being in DKR would be the problem. I just A) don't think he's a good enough actor, and B) don't think he's a well enough established actor. I don't see them giving a role as important as Batman is to them right now to someone that doesn't have more clout. The property is just way too important right this second.

I don't see Gosling taking the part. He's had so many comic characters thrown at him, you'd think if he was interested in playing one, he'd have accepted one of the jobs by now. I guess it's possible that Batman would be the one to change his mind, but I don't think he's interested. He also seems like one of those actors that doesn't wanna get tied into some big multipicture deal.

I'm inclined to agree with you for the same reasons I listed for Gosling right above. They've all had the opportunity from what I understand, and the multipicture deal thing seems like it would be off-putting for these guys. Plus age might be an issue. I have a feeling if they step away from Affleck, they'll want to go back to a bit younger to avoid that becoming a problem.

Armitage is a damn fine actor. I'm just not sure how I feel about him being Batman. Again, I think if WB does replace Affleck, they'll want to take it younger again. Plus...his ears...I know it's petty, but...just look at them. Those ARE NOT the ears of a billionaire playboy!!!! I'm kidding obviously, but those guys do stick out quite a bit. :D

Armitage was my choice..and I'm disappointed he didn't get it,
but glad that he didn't go down that sinking ship :hehe:

Con is Armitage seems so genuinely nice..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKYk0TS0KIE

He'd have to act *****ey for the role and do a good job of it :P

Affleck has *****e nailed down beyond his role ;)

Maybe that's for the best. Although I think it would be harder for an actor to slip into the role now compared to just after Bale. I'm not sure I would want to put my career on the line for that

If they go older, Richard Armitage.
If they go younger, Armie Hammer.
