Calling UK Hypsters!

Starting on Tuesday 11th September BBC4 will be showing the 1960s Batman, twice a week at 7.30pm.

First one is Hi Diddle Riddle followed by Smack in the Middle on Wednesday, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.

As far as I know, it'll be the first time in its 40 years that the BBC will have shown the old Batman series.

I used to watch Batman 66 show on CH4 everyday at 6pm. I don't own the series on DVD so it would be great watching it again.

Thanks for posting, I didn't know about this.

I wish one of the channels in the US would do that.

Fox and DC need to get it together and release this series on DVD already.

If the 1960's series was eventually released on DVD, I might consider buying a season or two.

OMG, the Brits are getting the Adam West Batman show back but we in the US can't get the reruns :cmad:

You lie, i got BBC 3 on right now, no Batman.

Pah

He did say BBC4 mind you, Ive been recording all these after lending out my recordings from ch4 and not getting them back(still had a couple from Wide Awake club in the 80's tho), last night's was great, 'The Joker is Wild', that one's loosely based on a 50's Dick Sprang Batman story called 'The Joker's utility belt'(was in greatest Joker stories), the first 3 pages of that story are re-created pretty much verbatim in the tv show, as far as I know thats the only time the Adam West show adapted a comic book story directly.

It was on at 7.35pm, they showed a 5min clip of 'Queen' from sounds of the seventies at 7.30pm, maybe you thought they were showing a full half hour episode of sounds of the seventies when you flicked over? 2nd part on tonight at 7.35 with 5min 70's music thing on b4 it again, man, these Bat episodes are a pure gift from the gods, thanks to the BBC showing 'Heroes' theyve put Batman and all those comic docs on to catch the superhero fever.

Your right, i saw queens of sound thought it was on for half an hour. then at 8 my girlfriend noticed Batman on BBC4, least now i know for next week eh. Thanks :)

BTW both parts of the Joker ep are repeated on Friday night from 11.30pm. Set the timer man, you dont want to miss these ones.

Aw man, you guys are lucky...good thing I have the entire series on dvd now (thanks to ebay).

It's the Mad Hatter's turn this week. They've really taken the 'hat' thing a bit literally.

I have to say, the 60's Batman is sometimes a chore to get through. The episodes could really do with being 10 minutes shorter. A little really goes a long way.

cool.

Wish they would show TAS on poor mans sky.

I was watching Batman today and it's the episode where the Joker visits the art gallery and defaces the paintings to 'improve them'.

That, and the episodes where the Penguin runs for mayor, makes me laugh. While Schumacher was the one who wished his movies could be more like the '60s version, it were the Burton ones who owed most haha

Wow, I turned 18 on the day Batman started playing again. Thats just..

Which means yeah, I turn 19 in just over a week.

I never got to watch this show as often as i would have liked too this past year... what with my A-levels and all. :csad:

Wish they would show B:TAS in the UK again (although I do have all the episodes)... it doesn't even show in America now... for the fore-seeable future.
