I don't think we've seen the last of Cavill. I just think we'll be waiting longer potentially to see him in action in a Justice League film. Honestly, like Routh before him, the issue with his Superman movie/movies isn't him, but rather the visionaries behind it.

DC wanted that Avengers money, now they have to wait for this to crawl to even get that Guardians of the Galaxy money.

Yup, this is a problem that needs to be fixed internally within the company. It's not like Sony where they can go running over to Marvel. WB needs to take action themselves. Bring in more writers, directors, producers, and anyone else qualified to steer this ship in the right direction. Because quite honestly, the prospect of losing the DCEU and waiting years and years for another DC film is crushing me.

Isn't it always. Just when you think they got rid of one problem (Robinov), they find another.

No. They are at the positivity thread doing heavy mental crossfit on how to spin yet another negative as a positive.

What they need is leadership. Marvel had Feige, he's the captain. Who's WB got? No-one. In order for this concept to work it can't just be creator driven. That's the takeaway from all this, you need to effectively treat what you're doing like a TV series and have a show runner.

Ouch again. Might not hit $50 million for the weekend.

Would need $14 to $15mil for the Sunday if that $20/$21mil pans out.

Considering its dropping below F7's 2nd weekend bank that might not be likely.

And there are so many people they can go to. Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, and Alan Burnett who have demonstrated their knowledge and skill with the DCAU. Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti who have done the same with "Young Justice".

The problem is, it's hard for animation guys to be pegged as anything else. You get pigeon-holed in that industry.

They have GEOFF JOHNS! -- Oh

... I'll be quiet now. :(

Which is exactly why I don't like the idea of Miller. He's not really experienced any more in running a TV series. To a fault even Whedon was guiding the MCU for a while and he had an experience at the TV series format.

You need someone like Timm or an inspired choice from TV to bring and do what needs to be done.

I know people will shoot me for it. But just get Berlanti. He knows what he's doing. I mean look at the super TV producer he's become and he's already got experience with the DC gang on TV.

He doesn't even have to bring Gustin, Benoist, and Amell over as their central characters. He can recast. But someone like him or Bruce Timm would be ideal.

not really surprised it is dropping so low at box office i thought the movie was just okay i gave it a 6/10

this movie wont play well with general audiences mainly due to the extremely slow pace, lack of action,no comedy and just not a movie i would call fun.

no surprised it has a B cinemascore

nothing wrong with creator driven thats basically what TDK trilogy was

but snyder is not a good storyteller so it is a mistake to let him run things

TDK trilogy was one series about one character lead by one man.

According to Faraci, Snyder is kind of the DCEU commander in chief.

Then it's not just the box office of this film that's going to be the problem. If he's in charge the entire DCEU is facing an uphill battle to be box office successes.

I'd rather not listen to the Donald Trump of Internet Bloggers.

It'll barely break $300 million DOM at this point.

Been saying $330M domestic for a while now even before OW and a 69% 2nd weekend drop as well. The critic reviews and mixed audience reactions as I said last week will eliminate any legs for this film. I mentioned yesterday BvS could have a difficult time just grossing $30M in week 2. It will probably be the first film to open over $150M during OW to have drops like this. Not good for WB.

This pains me so much...
EDIT: Also wanted to say, sure, critics hurt the movie's legs, but also the many, many people on Youtube have given this movie a bad review and i think a lot of people dont realize how powerful youtube is nowadays, well i guess i could say the same about stuff like facebook and twitter...

What's Vince Gilligan up to these days?

If one thing can come from the first week numbers DC should take away is that people do want to see these characters together.

Even they can look at Berlanti's efforts in the TV version of the DC Universe. The ratings consistently go up for Supergirl, Flash, Arrow, and Legends when they crossover.

People do want to see these characters together. They also just want to have fun and see them be superheros. Not fight one another or spend their films in dour stories about what they should do with their powers. At least not right away.

Batman V Superman would have worked much better if they had Affleck and Cavill at odds after at least 2 or 3 solo films, and one or two JL films, which is why Civil War will work better, there's an establishment of a relationship.

Meh I dont need to have there conflict setup over 2-5 movies. Weve already gotten how many batman and superman movies. The characters are established and I dont mind them doing the opposite of marvel.
