They are getting paid a lot of money to be super heroes. How would you feel? I'd be hugging everyone I could get my hands on (including her).

Especially her. :woot:

Because if they did see it, and if they did like it, they would have told people they liked it. They would have seen it again. The people who were told it was enjoyable from first-hand accounts would've gone seen it. They would go see it again. Here's some evidence, granted it's anecdotal, I posted my thoughts on the movie on my FB page. It wasn't very positive. A friend of mine replied saying he was planning on skipping it because he hasn't heard anything good about it. If he had heard more people saying good things about it, he probably would've seen it. Reviews from friends/family, will always trump reviews from critics for some people. . A movie doesn't make $1B on first-time business alone. It take's good WOM and repeat viewings. If it had either of those, the drops wouldn't be as bad as they are.

Can you provide me with any data that proves that the horrible critical score didn´t discourage a lot of people from going to see the movie? Or that a lot of people simply didn't watch it because they aren't a fan of the concept, or of MOS, or even of Affleck? There are a lot of factors that might have had an influence, and yet, you people only choose to talk about one. Is there any proof of that? You all seem so certain that the majority disliked, that i would assume we actually have the definitive proof of that. I ask this because that's not my experience at all. I look around and i don't see this movie as being that hated at all. Most people i know enjoyed the movie very much so i wonder where the idea that the majority disliked it comes from.

You need to understand that you don't give me orders. This is not the first time you tell me to "stop". I'm not your dog and you don't tell me what to do. I hope we're finally clear on that one.

You don't know why it dropped. You speculate about it. You lose all your credibility when you claim "everyone" as being your source. "Everyone" who and what? Everyone is telling you they didn't like the movie? Who is "everyone" and what are they saying? And how can you prove that the factors i listed before didn't come into play too? If you wanna constrain people from giving their opinions on the matter, you should be a little more effective in the way you sustain your claims, because until now i haven't seen you prove your theories in any way.

Again, coming from someone who rather liked it and thought it was a step up from MoS, it's pretty clear to me that the reason it dropped off was because a lot of people didn't like it, which led to rather poor WOM. The reviews didn't help. If everything was stellar, I think it would have "easily" cleared 1B.....easily.

Most people you know <----- the standard uber fan response.

Well, a lot of people didn't like it. Nobody is debating that.

When studios are holding off posting figures until after the business day has finished you know that no matter what they are saying in public behind the scenes they are very worried.

Yup. Hard to reach any other conclusion.

So much waiting just for the collosal drop that we already had and had started to look like the best case scenario? :D

-78.8% from monday to monday. Yeah, most of the people liked the movie. They liked the movie so much they turned into very selfish mythological creatures that tell their friends not to see it so they can't enjoy it themselves, and be the special one in the group.

:funny:

I know exactly what it dropped. Anyone who knows what they are talking about knows why it dropped. But I know you couldn't be asked to read any trade piece on the drop. :yay:

Age of Ultron fell from 22 million to 5 million

Iron Man 3 fell from 20 million to 4 million

So can we at lest keep some perspective for this instead of the doom and gloom responses?

How awful for WB.

They can find as many silver linings as they want, but this should have been a easy billion.

65%+ is all but guaranteed for the 3rd week.

No, you don't know why it dropped. You speculate about it. That's all you can do. You speculate about it. That's why you haven't been able to provide me with a single piece of information that sustained the idea that the majority didn't like the movie. You purely speculate.

It's official. BvS earned $3.19M yesterday, Monday, April 4th.

Both of those films had competition. BvS has zero, and is going to make much, much less.

OK looking at the figures WB really needs BvS to reach $332M and get that x2.0 multiplier. If it failed to reach it it would smash the record for the highest OW movie that failed to achieve a x2, the next closest would be 50 Shades that had a $85M OW and a $166M Dom total. And as far as I'm aware only 4 films have ever had an OW of over $50M then failed to achieve a x2.0 multiplier, 50 Shades ($85M/$166M), Paranormal Activity 3 ($52.5M/$104M), Valentine's Day ($56M/$106M), and Watchmen ($55M/$107.5M).

That is a record that WB would really hate to have attached to BvS.

Box office to BvS : If I wanted it you'd be dead already

Box office to BvS: Do you bleed? You will.
