The Dark Knight Batsuit Discussion Thread

Do you like the idea of a new Batsuit in TDK?

  • Yes, I like the idea of a change to a greyish, lighter & more streamlined suit.

  • No, I would rather Batman stay in the black, body armour type suit from BB.

Batman is suppose to be such a "badmuther***er" that he doesn't rely on
weapons and in turn does not fear them

No weapons, eh? Batarangs aren't weapons? Smoke bombs? Bolas?

Besides a hollywood "rubber suit" aint gonna protect $#!+ in reality.

Well then, I guess it's a good thing we aren't talking about reality.

Nor is it "rubber" in the film. Suspension of disbelief, and "movie magic" yall.... remember. What things are in the real world, aren't neccessarily what they are or should be within the movie world.

I don't yellow, never have. I think if his bat logo has to have another color is should be grey/silver.

No undies for Batman...

Why?
How about no insignia?
Or...How ears that "realistically" look like a bat?
How about a brown suit with fur on it?

Why does he need an undie then? Spidey don't & you have him on your avatar. ;)

I think it'd be cool if they worked on the texture of the suit, so it didn't look like rubber.

I know it's not rubber in the context of the movie, but it still looks like it. This is supposed to be a high-tech suit made out of an advanced fiber material. That's what it should look like.

Because, Nightwing, Spidey has never had trunks as a part of his costume, Batman has had them for 67 years.
If the batsuit is all one color (i.e., black) there is no need for the trunks, but a black-grey suit *must* have them, IMO, because every black-grey suit I've ever seen without them
looks terrible.

That's what has be given to us from the begining.
Should Mickey Mouse have "REALISTIC" fur, tail and ears
if made for live action?
No!

Let the Batman be a fun cool character again.

Because panties look sissy and stupid. That's why, thus making the suit LOOK like a uniformed costume...rather than an organic creature. He is a fun and cool character, especially with out the panties....

Dude get over it, they are not "panties" or "undies" or any other condescending term you can think up, they are trunks. They do not look sissy or stupid, the grey-black suit looks stupid without them, like a pair of one-piece pajamas for a kid. Your reasoning makes no sense.

No, they are panties... lol, even "trunks" sounds ******ed. A two coloresd costume would work, but Batman isn't Superman so he doesn't need to wear the underoos outside of his pants. Kal-el is an alien, and wears a regal alien uniform...so we let it slide. Humans don't wear underwear and panties, or jock straps over their pants. The Bat-suit isn't supposed to look like it is assembled and patterned. Just supposed to be a creature, and underoos serve no purpose, and they don't even look cool so why have them? They look stupid.

I think in comic books they look fine but in real life they can't help but come off really cheesy. A live-action Batman would not look good in blue or black drawers.

Does Superman come of cheesy?
No...In the world he is presented in He is not.
Also who says that the suit is all seperate parts?
Why can't it all be a one piece suit?
Why can't it be like one complete wetsuit type outfit
that has a black and cole grey pattern on it?

I think that they should have a little silver in the suit.

Introduce Joker. WHo will play him?

Nobody is goin to be a Jack Nic.

Actually yes, yes he does.
Exactly. Superman is supposed to be light and cheesy. He's an alien, he can get away with dressing like that, cause it disarms people in being afraid of him...and his powers make it acceptable. Bruce is a vigilante who is putting fear in the hearts of criminals. He doesn't need to do it by wearing Batman underooos.
