New Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Rumors – New Characters, Background Info, Plot, and More

Hasbro-Paramount Agreement will come to an end in November 2022.

During a recent press event, I asked Brian Goldner whether he would renew it. He did not wanted to say anything upfront and gave me a sort of "We'll see" answer.

This movie has a lot of stakes in hand. Future of the agreement may depend on it.

This may explain why they are doing this with all guns blazing. Targeting a bigger box office. Need to show success.

Beast Wars is one of my childhood cartoons, so i can't wait for the Beast to come out in theaters.

Sounds like the production will also take place in other parts of Peru as well.

PromPeru: New 'Transformers' film to be shot in Peru

Filming 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' in Machu Picchu is a great privilege. Our goal is to evoke the spiritual connection felt in sacred places like this and enjoy what this great civilization has achieved," Steven Caple Jr. stated.

"It is also our duty not to detract from history, so we are working hard to keep the historical part separate from the fictional narratives that we are providing," he added.

"As a filmmaker, I find it truly inspiring to immerse our film in Peruvian culture. This time we will have the chance to film in Cusco —located high and deep in the Andes Mountain range— where you can find traces of a sophisticated Inca civilization that survived in time and is still alive in Cusco communities," Caple Jr. said about filming in Peru.

The film will be shot in the last quarter of the year and some locations will be in Cusco and San Martin regions. For this project, Paramount Pictures is working with Apu Productions —a Peruvian production company.

Sorry for the third post, but it seems like we might be getting something tomorrow, unless it’s for Kingdom.

What could it be?

Isn't Kingdom releasing next month or something? Could be for that.

Just hope he sounds a lot better than Power of the Primes!

Bummed out Garry isn’t reprising, even though it was a long shot.

That's pretty cool. It's also a bit strange that they're announcing the voice cast this far out but I'm all for Perlman as Primal.

Speaking of, the voice cast is one of the things that this series has mostly gotten right. Peter Cullen sounds better with age as Optimus Prime than he did back in the '80s. Sure, it was a crummy move to replace Frank Welker as Megatron in the first three but at least he eventually got to play him again and I also didn't mind Hugo Weaving in the role. John Goodman and Ken Watanabe voicing Autobots was one of the only enjoyable aspects of the last two Bay movies, and while it was kind of lame to have Bumblebee mostly mute again for his own movie, it was cool that Angela Bassett voiced the villain.

Wonder who they should cast as BW Megatron if he appears.

We'll see. It will depend on the script and direction. I wasn't particularly all that impressed with Perlman's performance as Primal in the Machinima web series. But then again, no one sounded especially great in that show.

Yeah, this series never had a problem with getting great celebrity voices.

Before they brought Peter Cullen back for the very first one, wasn't George Clooney rumored as the voice of Optimus Prime.

I think it was Liam Neeson.

Not saying I wouldn’t have loved Gary Chalk back to voice the character (Beast Wars was my Transformers growing up as a kid), but Ron Perlman is a very prolific and talented voice actor in his own right. I think he’ll do right by the character.

Of course, the TFW2005 boards are already making a big fuss about this. The gatekeeping of “This character should be played by this single actor for all time” from fans has always been a ridiculous notion to me. If someone else gets the part of a character I love, would I be a little bummed? Sure. Am I going to give the other person a chance? Absolutely. And this is no different.

Also, Peter Cullen ain’t getting any younger, and we’re going to have to face the fact that someday he’s not going to be around anymore to play the character, and someone else is going to have to step up to fill that void. We need to be open to change, and to other people eventually playing these beloved characters.

I mean, if the idea of something transforming from one thing into something else isn’t what Transformers is all about, I don’t know what is.
