there have been so many portrayals of batman for reference. you'd have to be a really ****** actor to **** that up at this point.

As Bruce Wayne yes. As Batman perhaps. Very curious to see how he turns out.

These people are just plain sad and pathetic.

Hmmm, I don't think that's the first time I heard that about an actor about to play Batman. :hmm
the main issue with Ben Affleck is that he is a bit too famous to play Batman. He is a bit main stream and has been involved in some main stream stuff, JLO's butt for example.

I would rather have someone who is a bit unknown but you know they can pull it off. Bale had that factor, he was unknown and not everybody saw his films and definitely not mainstream before BB, but you saw this intensity. I don't get intensity with BA.

People bring up Micheal Keaton and stuff, THIS ISN'T THE LATE 80's. People's perception of how comic book movies should be like changed. You can't pull of movies from the 80's in today's time, you just can't. Plus, I doubt WB cared at all about Keaton casting. Now in 2013, you can't do that and Affleck feels like that "heh" choice.

Could be good. Still not psyched about Snyder directing. The guy that cast Mathew Goode as Ozymandias for cripes sake.

Give the guy a chance...

That's an unfair stigma. So he can't play it because he's too mainstream?

You know unknown actors can be terrible to, right?

OH! I totally forgot about that. I hated the Josh Brolin rumor.
He would have been ok as Gordon, I guess? IDK. He's better in weird character actor part that hide his good looks and let him be wild.

Ugh, I'd rather someone like him stay away from this movie in general, even as a bit part. I wouldn't be able to stomach having him play Gordon.

People bring up Michael Keaton because it's the same situation...people didn't think he could be a good Batman, they thought he was gonna make it a joke, they even had a petition...and the movie made the haters shut up.

i knew he was gonna be approached by WB but i didn't think he'd say "yes". i can see him as bruce wayne. as batman, i'll have to wait and see. but he's still a good choice. better than john hamm and josh brolin for sure

The guy looks pretty buff already. (August 11th)

Food for thought

First step, fixing the batman delivery. The rest comes later.

LMAO, that was hilarious. I agree 1,010% that Michael Keaton is, by far, the best Batman that will ever live and there aren't many who can debate it or convince me otherwise. Though, Bale's Bruce Wayne was fantastic. Still, Keaton for Bats all the way.

I know I'm stating the obvious but Affleck must think this is pretty good if he signed on.

I think Ben could well steal this film from the rest - even if they get a Cranston for Luthor. He loves Batman and this is his role of a lifetime. The doubters may be in for a huge surprise. Can he surpass bale? Doubtful but he may turn out to be the next best thing.

to this day i still think kilmer was the best batman. no joke. not me trillin. he depicted the batman of the 80's and 90's. he and that chick who couldn't figure out how to keep her shirt closed were the best parts of batman forever

I'm onboard with Affleck and will give him a chance but will always take a wait and see approach. He has my support because it 'tis what it 'tis.

Though, in my mind, BA and HC look great together standing next to each other so hopefully if all else is a concern, let that be a good reality.
