How about this.

Ben is brought on as Batman for WF and JL to help launch the DC universe.

Then, after JL, Ben passes the torch to a younger actor but comes aboard as Batman's new Nolan. Creative and directing control. That Batman franchise just might rival Nolan's and maybe this is part of WB's strategy.

Why bring on such a big actor only to have him star in team up movies? They are probably keeping him around for good while.

It's doesn't NEED to be fabric. Supes' suit wasn't fabric and he moved fine. Nite Owl's suit in Watchmen wasn't fabric and it looked great in action.

Plus, fabric might look weird on big screen. I don't think we'll ever see a fabric suit in a modern comic adaptation.

This is exactly what I have been thinking the plan is ever since I heard they would be casting an older Batman. Bring in the older Batman in a Superman story then one last appearance in JL. Then re-boot the entire Batman franchise with a young actor. By this time a good 15 years will have past since BB and the memory of it will be fading. Probably WB not only wanted to help the MOS sequel with Batman but they also probably thought it would be too soon for another Batman origin story anyway.

Yeah and they can use the younger Batman for other JL and WF.

1) Superman didn't throw down many kung fu moves.

2) Plenty of superheroes in modern films now wear fabric, and it looks just fine.

3) You never know what will happen until it happens.
