Horrible news everyone: I'm getting reports that Brad Pitt has been cast as the Gotham Falafel Guy.

Now I'm sure Pitt is an okay actor but he's mostly just a pretty face. He can't pull off the pathos of being a run-down falafel vendor who "has kids to feed." This character is deeply important to getting this right and I honestly believe this is stunt casting on WB's part just to make money. What's next? Oprah as Alfred? A goldfish as Ace the Bathound? You can all see that WB has lost their minds and have no idea what the mythos is really about. And with Goyer composing the script, the film is all but doomed.

They need establish Batman and Bruce Wayne one way, but save most of it for his solo movies. His philosophy, his motives why is he doing this, so i say 50/50 movie.. Batman is mysterios character and we dont need to see much of his life or his pain, why he become the Batman, just some signs pointing that way. Maybe Lois mentioning to Clark that Bruce lost his parents in childhood etc. as Clark can make own assumptions. At end of movie maybe we can see cameo of Alfred opening car door's for Master Wayne, as Bruce mention to Clark he needs to go back in Gotham as he have unfinished business there. No need for many characters and roles from Batman verse.

I hope he does his own bat voice and not imitate bales god awful one. The one thing on his side is he can play intelligent and he does not need to pull off an accent. I hope to god his physique is 10x better than his pudgy look he had for DD. I have to think positive just to get on board with this because i hate his long butt chin face. Obviously WB struck a deal with him to do other movies for them. I dont think this was snyders choice.

I'm with you. Apparently, being a fanboy means being a pessimist. From the reaction of some you'd think they announced Johnny Knoxville as Batman/Bruce Wayne. Or that the costume would be less traditional and feature nothing but a mask, bat thong, and a utility belt filled with bunnyrangs. Nope, just Ben Affleck is Batman.

I would honestly be more excited if someone else had been cast, someone less famous. That way there is a sense of speculation, a sense of discovery, how will that dude do? How will he play etc.

But with casting an established big name, there is none of that, we all know who we are getting and more or less what we are getting (it's not like Affleck's performances are varied, he's kinda the same in every film).

So it's just ... wait and see. He might surprise and give a good performance though. Sometimes its the role that finally gets a good performance from an actor.

He may be hoping to get control of the new Batman franchise and JL after WF but, frankly, Ben is a better director and writer than Snyder and Ben may be the one to take over the DC universe at WB. Which would not be a bad thing IMO.

He was like that on Daredevil...he would wear the glassy eye thingies that would make him blind 24/7 and then had a blind actor teach him how to do stuff blind....the scene with Matt getting ready for work came from their ideas (money folded differently...ect.ect.)

I never thought they would give JL to Snyder despite that he is signed for it maybe? I've read that on the net but it may not be true.

Snyder's track record is too sketchy/inconsistent. Whether JL goes to Ben or not, I don't think Snyder ever was going to get it.

WB never re-releases films in dollar theatres and IMAX as I understand it. Other companies are different. FF6 got dollar theatres and IMAX re-releases. I think IM3 is too. I know its getting an IMAX re-release.

I wonder if WB will break their pattern. MOS is in dollar theatres - might WB want to capitalize on the buzz over the announcement and do a re-release IMAX for MOS.
