Huh?????? Where the **** does that come from.

No. I actually don't fancy Affleck as either a writer or director or actor. I would be quite disappointed if Marvel cast him. But Marvel is a penny pincher. They NEVER cast big stars (excepting Downey who was not a big star when he was cast) so that they don't have to pay a lot initially.

you just compared affleck to orson welles. sound logic.

he doesn't need to be welles to make good movies.

you don't like him, cool. why are you working overtime dropping 2 pennies at a time on something you seem not to care for?

and for the record, downey was a star. infamous or not. people knew who the hell he was.

It might be a courtsey credit. Producing credit don't mean anything in Hollywood. An executive credit might have been part of the contract he sighed with WB. Maybe he'll attend some meetings and stuff but doesn't mean he'll be involved.

And so far it seems to me he won't be involved at all. Plus he'll be very busy on his own.

Ah, I see. So pretty much a "Christopher Nolan In Name Only" credit?

This thing has divided more people than religion and politics combined.

Expressing skepticism is not dropping 2 pennies or whatever the hell it means. Its a healthy component of a discussion (not an argument which is what many people mistake it for).

And as I have said my skepticism rises from the fact that it SEEMS to me like a business decision before an artistic one.

And Downey in 2006 when he was cast wasn't close to where Affleck is now. Affleck is at the height of his Hollywood might.

Affleck 2013 >>>>>>> Downey in 2006 in terms of the money they could have commanded.

I've seen this casting choice all over television.

That's not even hyperbole. Normal non-geek people are even arguing over this ****. I don't even know what to think.

Just think that WB's hype game can be pretty effective.

Very possibly. They splashed his name in each and every poster and trailer and TV spot for MOS. They won't be doing that on MOS2.

And to show his diminished involvement, his wife Emma had a full producing credit on MOS (not an executive one, a full producing credit) and even she is taking an executive credit on MOS2. So basically they are going to be very busy with Interstellar.

He meant putting your two cents in.

this news that he is batman is on almost every news site possible. even on sites that dont report movie news. he is that known and he is that big of a star. casting him was a fantastic choice from a marketing perspective. this will market itself.

i can not hate him. i can not be negative. he is maybe not the perfect choice but he is a decent one.

it is funny when some are talking about acting. is this the same fanboy community who would like hot girls with bad acting experience for comicbook female characters? the same people who look at young actors with big muscles? look in the mirror. you know what we are. ;)

Dogma was awesome I don't know what you are talking about. Plus you could argue that those other films you listed were horribly scripted and directed so you can't entirely pin the blame on him.

If you think dogma was awesome...okay I guess. Aside from that, I was pointing out how the public has viewed Affleck fair or not. Its not about blame ,that's how it is. I personally think its a bit overboard, but I can't deny that he's come with a lot of baggage which is why there's such an uproar. I'm in wait and see mode myself but I'm not gonna deny that he's gonna have to fight people's perception of him.

People not in the geek community are going crazy over this. So that is definitely creating interest in this film.

Geez. This story is even being featured on the nightly news. And it's not the story of affleck being cast, it's about the backlash of affleck being cast.

No, in some articles I read, it seems Nolan has jumped ship when Legendary and WB parted ways.

I think MOS was his last with WB...all sequels and JL movies Nolan will not be executive producer wether in money nor name.

That much is true. This is basically a publicity jackpot. He might or might not give a good performance but he will bring the eyeballs.

It's so weird. You'd think people would remember that this already happened 10 years ago, just with a different costume color, no cape and shorter horns.

But it's cool to see interest.

Yes. If Batman vs Superman is huge WB's biggest problem will be do we do Batman 1 next or JL1. Nice problem to have.

It's become the new Coke vs. Pepsi.

And I really don't know where to look to start seeing this 'outrage' everyone speaks of. This place seems to be overall okay with it.

The next thing we know they'll be a call to march on Washington.

It's crazy so far only my best friend and wife agree with me on how awesome this casting is, every other person either messaged me on facebook, texted me or in person was expecting me to be appalled as they are, most people are really against this.
