Ben Affleck IS Bruce Wayne/Batman - Part 2

Eh, leg days are often skipped by actors if you ask me. Best examples from the top of my head are Kellan Lutz and Jai Courtney - both with a overall very well built physique but tiny legs.

Ben has always stated how much he hates the training, so I don't blame him. Cause if you're not even into working out the upper part of your body, you gonna loathe leg day like it's two Kryptonians nuking it out inside your financial building.

These guys are just training for a movie. They aren't athletes. Just look good enough for the camera.

Definitly. I wasn't trying to throw shade at those guys, I just think it's irritating to only critice Ben for his legs while actors with a strong upper AND lower body are quite the rarity in Hollywood.

(I see you, Henry.)

The only reason Hollywood guys train legs at all is so they're not completely out of balance.

Leg work is also a great method of full body fat burning. That's why you'll see them squat and deadlift but maybe not do a ton of hip abduction work.

Oh yeah for sure. My comment was in full agreement with yours. I can't imagine having to be on set for like 13 hours, working out during that time and in your time away from the set, and then also trying to raise a family/pursue other projects.

Naw.

When you give everyone the same answer about #TheBatman yet they still continue ask questions about it,

Reeves confirms starting from scratch on the batman script. So, goodbye deathstroke. You still win at life tho, yo colombian milf wife is sooooo hnnngh.

You think they'll scrub him completely? I feel like he'd remain with a reduced role. Could live with a recast though.

I don't think he'll feature at all. Just a gut feeling. They can easily stick the character in Suicide Squad 2 or Nightwing. In fact, making him the antagonist in Nightwing is perhaps the best fit anyway.

I think the Batsolo would be a good place to intro the Nightwing vs. Deathstroke thing, personally.

Heh, I had forgotten that he allegedly breaks Lex out of prison.

Yeah that's what I was wondering about. Seems like he may have already shot some stuff.

Aside for not minding that Deathstroke may be off this new script, can't comment on how much more I won't miss or will miss of what they originally had planned as we didn't know much about the direction. But, I hope this new story is promising. Guessing Geoff isn't co-writing this anymore?

That's just as well, in my opinion. Batman was never Johns' strong suit. He can stick with Wonder Woman and Green Lantern.

I'm in the same boat. Don't really care much for his take on Batman.

Reeves can do what he likes. I don't care which characters he chooses to use as I'm sure he'll do justice to whoever he goes for. We'll get Deathstroke one day.

I like Earth One, but it is odd that the one hero to have him announced for scripting duty was one that he's never been praised that strongly for. The Flash, GL, Aquaman, Supes? Sure. Batman? Ehh... 'kay.

I take it as an indication of the kind of rapport John had with Affleck and hope it holds true for Johns' role in heading DC Films with Berg, and for Affleck hopefully sticking around awhile.

30-minute mark, Reeves talks more about Bats.

Nothing too explosive, but interestingly he notes his way into Batman was through the Adam West series. Not too big of a surprise considering his birth year, so he and Nolan share that similarity. Unlike Chris though, Reeves did mention he eventually found his way to the comic books. No specifics unfortunately.

I just can't wait until he gets his own solo

Nice. We can finally put that awful Josh Gad/Penguin rumor to rest as well.

I sure hope Affleck doesn't drop out of The Batman. Haven't heard much from him lately, although that's not surprising given the many personal issues he's working through, and perhaps a desire to step away from the limelight after the failure of Live By Night and critical mauling of BvS. But he's my favorite silver-screen version of Bruce Wayne/Batman at this point, and while the character has taken on a James Bond quality where periodic recasting is normal and expected, it would be disappointing not to see more of the Batfleck post-Justice League.

For that reason, I'm really hoping Justice League becomes the best-reviewed of Zack Snyder's three DCEU films, and at least approaches the commercial success of BvS (difficult to say, given how divisive Snyder's films tend to be). A positive reception to Justice League would likely renew Affleck's enthusiasm if he's wavering at this point.

Reeves said he never met with WB about MOS. I kinda want someone to ask him more about Batfleck tho. Also, WB wanted him to start work on the batman right away, but he told them he needed a break after apes.

I could be wrong, but I get the sense that Ben's in a better place now. He appears to be on good terms with his ex; there's a new lady in his life; he's still abundantly wealthy (lol); etc. etc.
I'm sure the guy still has other problems to contend with, but the worst of it is likely behind him. To quote a character from TDK, "The night is darkest just before the dawn. And I promise you, the dawn is coming."

I actually think with SS2 looking like it's gaining some traction that we may see Deathstroke go over to that film.

I have a feeling that Ben was basically a mess at the end of last year and the understanding between WB and him when they signed Reeves was - get your life together, if you recover and WW/JL don't crash and burn, then you come back and start up again. If you're broken and/or DCEU's dead, then you can temporary retire from the industry and get healthy.

At the moment the man has completed alcohol rehab, has a new partner, negotiating (or signed on) for The Accountant sequel with WB, is getting fit for the JL reshoot, and seem to be on "light duties" for work, so I'd say he's recovering well and on track.

Though that gossip about the affair thingy is quite damaging, true or not, it's making entertainment headlines around the world.
