Justice League Ben Affleck IS Bruce Wayne/Batman - Part 6

Reading this, I just pictured in my head a glorious shot of Batman facing a criminal and his anger increases as we see it expressed through his cowl starting to form a frown. Basically, we'd know at this point that the bad guy messed up and is about to get his butt handed to him.

Also, I've said this before but semi-transparent lenses could do the work. A 3M type material where it reflects when the light hits them while on close-ups we'd see his eyes.
 The lenses should be retractable. They stay on during any action scene/criminal intimidation scene but retract whenever Batman talks to Gordon, Alfred or Dick.

I wouldn't blame Joss for that. Everyone else looked the same (aside from Gal and Ezra's hair), it was Ben's fluctuating weight all throughout the years that's the issue.

You can definitely blame Whedon for not making sure his hair looked the freaking same.

Wonder what the original plane scene with Alfred was like in Snyder's version. Hell, I wonder if they were even in a plane in that scene at all. He could have been in the washroom in his swanky billionaire house by the lake.

But, but, it's just the angles, the lighting. No, it's because he was clean shaven...

Lol. In that scene where he is talking to Alfred and leans back in his chair, Ben literally looks like:

A. Ben Affleck
B. A wax figure of Ben Affleck
C. A mannequin of Ben Affleck and
D. A lizard.

All in three shots.

I know it won't happen, but even if they do end up recasting as rumored, I'd love if Matt Reeves' Batman film at least has a cameo from Ben to bookend the movie or something.

This scene was so jarring. It did nothing but remind me how I love the cinematagraphy of Zack's movies and how he crafts weight to his aestetic. Say what you want about his storytelling methods, but the dude can sure craft the hell out of his shots. Henry and Ben look so good here. Just another reminder of how the film should have looked in its true barrings.

If only he could just direct the thing and have no say whatever in any storytelling or character advancement aspect

Give him a script to follow to a tee and you have a pretty great product

He crafted out the entire DCEU up to that point and came up with the BvS story with Terrio

So I wouldn’t say so

Isn't that what he did with BVS?

Not really. He shaped up the story.

I think what Chip's saying here is that he doesnt care much for Snyder's story choices. And that's fine.

I think I can totally agree with a detractor if they say he is a solid director, but makes controversial story choices.

But he doesnt usually do "director for hire" gigs. Anyway. I know Chip will not agree with me but I truly believe what Snyder was doing with JL with respect to the characters, Chip would have liked it.

All that aside, If they ever decided to show his movie, I’d absolutely watch. Even with the list of problems I had with previous installments, I’d still give it a chance, just as I would with anything else within reason.

I’ve already been too invested in these characters for such a long time not to at least try.

I didnt catch it at the time, but did you enjoy Superman's brief scene with Alfred?

My only complaint was that it wasn’t longer

It would have definitely helped the inevitable Bruce-Clark friendship feel more authentic

True. It only made me want more, to see more of Clark.

Yeah, this is what I was talking about the other day. There were rumors pointing in the direction of The Batman being outside of the DCEU, and it seems that's the case. I think the rumors of Affleck staying and this one are BOTH true. Basically we're getting a DC Dark Universe with Reeves' Batman, Phoenix' Joker, and probably other dark and gritty characters, while Batfleck will stay when needed in the DCEU, may that be as cameos in BOP or SS2 or eventually a JL2. It makes sense Affleck would want to continue as the DCEU Batman in such conditions, since it frees up his schedule a lot.
